CHAPTER 2: The pretended lover

Along the way, Evangeline could only keep quiet, while trying to figure out a way to escape.

Along the way, he kept trying to grab the doorknob, but was always caught by those people.

They arrived at the Orchid City Hospital.

Evangeline squinted, as she looked at the large building in front of her.

Why did they bring me here? What might these be.Evangeline's inner self guessed.

Arriving at the basement parking lot, the men again dragged Evangeline and took her to a floor in the top five of the building.

Evangeline walked staggeringly as she followed the footsteps of those people who were walking at a very fast pace.

From a distance, he saw several men dressed in all black guarding a room.

Plus two men and women who were silent to each other, where the man stood firmly, while the woman sat with her arms folded in front of the chest, even her legs also crossed upwards.

Evangeline seemed to know who the woman was, and tried to remember her.

After Alexa disappeared in the distance, Mac Duff removed his hand from Evangeline's arm.

“Sorry for my attitude,” said Mac duff.

Evangeline looked to the side. His eyes were hot, as he looked at the figure of the man lying alone in the heavily guarded room.

Mac Duff turned around and saw that. He immediately took Evangeline away from there.

“You guys stay here and make sure King is safe. I'll be right back,” he exclaimed at all his men who stood guard there.

He then pulled Evangeline away from the site, taking her to the end of the hallway where there was a door leading to the hospital roof.

The place was filled with air sewer pipes from all over the building, there were also giant air filter machines.

Mac Duff made sure no one was there, while Evangeline remained silent.

“What is it?” ask Evangeline later.

Mac Duff then went back to the girl who was still down.

“For a while, Let's play like this only. We do as the woman thinks,” said Mac duff.

Evangeline raised her face with wet eyes. Even a few drops of tears had slid down her cheeks.

“Pretend to be my lover,” replied Mac duff.

“Are you crazy? My husband is dying there and you're asking me to be your lover?” cecar Evangeline's.

“Only this is the way we can do now. Alexa's seen you, but she doesn't know your connection to Alpha. Eva, understand. All this time he's been trying to get away from all of you to keep his family safe. The situation is getting very difficult at the moment. Please understand, Eva,” persuade Mac duff.

Evangeline wiped her tears and stared intently at Mac duff.

He also walked up to the sky night boss who had already left the place.

The two returned to the sterile room where Ardiaz was. Arriving at the door, Mac Duff asks Evangeline to go inside.

“Enter. I'll stay here,” exclaimed Mac duff.

Evangeline went inside. She coats her body in sterile PPE clothing to keep the patient safe without being contaminated with any outside hazards.

The girl is seen stopping at the door of the isolation room. He took a deep breath and exhaled it all at once. He did it several times, until finally his hand was raised and pulled the doorknob.

The smell of disinfectant really felt piercing his nostrils, making Evangeline frown for a moment.

Then, his focus returned to the figure of the man lying weakly on the bed.

his steps were heavy and it was hard to get there. His chest tightened again, and made a clear circle back down to the cheeks.

He smothered his mouth with a strong palm. However, no matter how much she held back, her cries could not be contained when she saw the condition of the husband is so sad at this time.

He fell on the floor, with a sob that he could hold his heart, though his shoulders shook so strongly.
