CHAPTER 2: Being Pursued

Joy tried to rebel by repeatedly kicking back, hoping to hit the stranger's leg.

However, his movements stopped as the person pulled him outside, and Evangeline's bodyguard was seen completely down on the floor.

His eyes widened with a heartbeat that was accelerating faster. His eyeballs were directed towards the door where Evangeline was inside.

Plus there were many black-clad soldiers wearing face coverings surrounding the unit, and from their bodies Joy could see a tattoo that was quite familiar.

Lothawat! It's Lucifer's attack, Joy's inner.

He grew even more panicked as one of them tried to go inside.

Blindly, Joy again tried to rebel. With his flagship attack, he bit the hand of the person who caught him hard and made himself loose.

Joy immediately ran to the door, intending to go ahead and close it from the inside to protect Evangeline. But his movements stopped when a rifle exploded and his projectile hit the girl's left shoulder.

AAARRRRGGGHHH!

Screeches made Evangeline, who had been inside, startled and immediately turned to the door.

He could not see the conditions outside, because the door was only slightly open and blocked by the living room sofa.

Curious, he wakes up and tries to see what happened to his friend.

However, just as she took a step away, her eyes rounded as she saw Joy's head poking out from behind the door.

Apparently, the girl was lying face down on the floor with a face of pain. The gazes of the two met, and Joy shook her head, as if asking Evangeline not to come any closer.

Ardiaz's wife was panicking. He retreated without knowing what was nearby. Evangeline is unaware that there is a vase next to her, which is accidentally knocked by her until it falls and breaks.

The sound of shards made the person who was pretending to be a courier immediately rush in.

However, with the rest of his strength, Joy held onto the man's leg and did not let him in.

However, the man kicked Joy's left shoulder that had been shot to make the girl in pain and could no longer hold her hand.

“EVA, RUN!” his screeches.

Hearing that, the fake courier again kicked Joy's left shoulder harder until the girl's grip came off, and made the courier managed to get inside.

The girl was frightened as a foreign man's hand grabbed her arm, and pulled her down.

Want as strong as Evangeline tried to rebel, she could not keep up with the man's strength.

When he got near the table, he saw a bowl of fruit. Quickly, Evangeline grabbed the object, making its contents splatter on the floor.

He then hit the object made of glass towards the nape of the fake courier hard, until the man complained in pain.

Evangeline thought she could escape when the fake courier took off her grip. But apparently, he had not been able to leave, the hand again grabbed him.

This time, she grabbed Evangeline's long hair and pulled it until the woman screamed in pain. And loudly, slapped Evangeline's face several times until both of her cheeks were hot and sore.

Even from the corner of his lips felt something flowing out and salty.

Evangeline felt dizzy and unsteady, but she had not had time to balance herself, the man pulled back his hair while walking out.

Ardiaz's wife continued to love and hold her hair because she felt so sick. When he reached the door, he saw Joy who was unconscious with a lot of blood flowing out of her wounds.

“JOY! JOY, WAKE. JOY. PLEASE SAVE MY FRIEND. JOY,” her screeches for the man's mercy.

However, he seemed to be unconcerned and continued to pull her out. After being outside the unit, Evangeline could see that her father's bodyguard had fallen down and the courier was not alone, but with an army of men dressed in black with face coverings.

Evangeline instantly limp. He understands the situation now. When someone tried to remember both hands, Evangeline again tried to rebel, but this time an injection with sedative fluid stuck in the woman's arm.

Evangeline scrunched her forehead feeling the pain in that part. Gradually, he began to slow down and eventually became unconscious.
