CHAPTER 2: Adults instantly

“Let go of him!” mac duff.

Martin seemed to grin, while his hand continued to hold Evangeline.

The girl looked scared. He looked pityfully at Mac Duff, as if he was asking for help while struggling.

“I'll let go, as long as you prove that he really is your lover. I doubt you'll change your taste buds this soon. Isn't your taste like Alexa, heh?” said Martin.

Mac Duff is seen clenching his hands. He growled at the arrogant King's behavior.

“Take off my girlfriend right now, or I won't be disinclined by you,” Mac duff threatened.

“Oh... Did ya? Try to take him from me,” challenge Martin.

Mac Duff came forward to grab Evangeline's arm, but Martin first grabbed Evangeline, and made the girl enter the King's arms.

The sky night boss was no longer able to be patient. He went forward and grabbed Martin's jacket collar. His hand was raised with a fist ready to hit anything in front of him.

Suddenly, the heavy voice of the Joker made his punch float in the air.

“Stop, or you guys will just make Emperor angry. One of our Kings is in a coma and you're in a fuss just because of a girl,”.

Seeing the Mac duff not hitting him, Martin laughed mockingly and then pushed Evangeline, until the girl staggered forward.

Luckily Mac Duff swiftly caught him, and hugged the girl back.

The man was still staring at Martin. However, his hand grabbed Evangeline's shoulder and chose to leave immediately, taking the girl out of the difficult situation she was in.

After they get into the elevator, Mac Duff releases his embrace from Evangeline's shoulders.

He even shifted slightly away from the girl to keep his distance.

Evangeline was silent. His face stared straight ahead, where his reflection appeared on the elevator wall.

“So, he even became King in Lucifer? Hehe... I thought my husband was just a knight or a Baron. But as it turns out, he even became one of your Kings. The facilities provided are very good. Everything seems reasonable now,” Evangeline said amid the emptiness of her eyes.

“He has his own reasons. I have no right to tell you. Better, let him alone say it all later,” says Mac duff.

Evangeline seemed to smile bitterly at the words of the Mac duff.

“You're right. From the beginning I just wanted to hear from him, not anyone else. Huh... Apparently my struggle is still not over,” said Evangeline.

Both of them remained silent. Shortly after, the elevator doors opened and the two had reached the basement parking area.

"Today, just get here. You'll only get in trouble if you force it back again" said Mac Duff.

"alright. I know how to. The situation was not normal from the beginning" Evangeline said.

The girl got into her car and left.

Mac Duff simply escorted Evangeline to the basement, making sure the girl got out safely.

He couldn't drive her home, because he had to be near Ardiaz, making sure his partner was safe.

The next day, she planned to return to the hospital to accompany her husband again.

He also prepared a lunch for him to share with Mac Duff as usual. Joy, who happened to stay at Evangeline's place last night, was sitting at the dinner table watching her partner.

He already knew everything from Evangeline, even about Ardiaz who turned out to be one of the King Lucifer.

The short-haired girl also knew the reason why Evangeline could not continue to be in the hospital, even though now she was no longer busy at Merciful.

All because Ardiaz was related to Lucifer, and it would definitely be dangerous if his identity was revealed prematurely, especially now that the person who could save him was in a coma.

Joy kept watching her best friend. He felt sorry for her.

Obviously her husband is in a coma in the hospital, but Evangeline always suppresses her feelings, and looks ordinary as if nothing happened.

“Eva, do you want me to accompany you there? Maybe you're bored and need a talkative,” bargain Joy.

Evangeline glanced over and smiled, then refocused on her work.

“I'm not alone, Joy. There I was with my husband. Did you forget, huh?” evangeline Sahut.

“Iya, indeed. But Eva, isn't your husband..” tepis Joy.

“I beg you not to say anything negative here. It will only affect my mood,” Evangeline interrupted.

The mood was silent again. Joy no longer spoke and only saw the back of Evangeline who had been busy making things.

Evangeline swiped the green button to the right without seeing who called her first.

He stuck the flat object in the ear, while rushing back to the kitchen, continuing his cooking show.

“Halo, who is this?” ask Evangeline as she descends the stairs.

“Eva, it's Malcolm. Do you have time today? I want to take you somewhere,” said the person across, who is none other than Malcolm.

“Ah... Hi, Malcolm. I can't go with you today. How about tomorrow? Or the day after?” answer Evangeline.

“Ah... So you're busy. All right, then next time,” said Malcolm.

Evangeline heard a disappointed tone in Malcolm's voice. The girl sighed deeply, and tried to divert the conversation.

“Oh yes, how about your move? When are you going to start working in a new place?” ask Evangeline.

“Ehm... Everything's done taken care of. Next week, officially I will be introduced in front of everyone, that this young, handsome and genius doctor will join the Orchid City central hospital,”, Malcolm replied.

Evangeline chuckled little hearing the clumsiness of the young doctor across the call.

“Hahaha... Did ya? So, this young, handsome and genius doctor does he mean to celebrate this by treating me good food?” evangeline Goda.

Malcolm chuckled at Evangeline's joke. They both laughed at each other.

“Alright, then I won't bother you anymore. See you tomorrow,” said Malcolm.

“Ehm... Alright. See you,” says Evangeline.

The connection was also cut. Evangeline returned to her busy schedule to prepare lunch for her to take to the hospital.

Joy continued to pay attention to her best friend without commenting at all.

Moments later, Evangeline brought the dish to the dining table.

“Let me help prepare the cutlery,” bargain Joy.

The short-haired girl got up from her seat and walked towards the plate rack. He picked up two sets of cutlery and took them to the dining table.

There were already some dishes that Evangeline had prepared. Just simple cooking, because Evangeline is not very good at cooking.

The spoiled girl has changed a lot. He was willing to take pains just for the sake of small things like this.

His rollercoaster life experience makes his personality mature instantly.

When it was finished, Evangeline prepared. They were even finished packed into a lunch box.

“You really won't take me? I can help you do something there,” bargain Joy once again.

Evangeline looked towards the reflection of the friend, and smiled faintly. She is currently sitting in front of her dresser, while Joy is seen sitting on the edge of the bed while continuing to pay attention to her best friend.

“I thank you for all your attention, Joy. But, I'm really okay. Enjoy your own weekend. Sorry I can't keep you company playing now,” Evangeline said.

The girl grabbed a hair tie from inside the dresser drawer, and remembered her hair high.

It looks very casual, with an oversize t-shirt and ripped jeans. Monochrome sneaker shoes were chosen for the outfit went to meet the husband.

After she finished looking in the mirror, she turned around and walked towards Joy. He grabbed a green, white and black plaid flannel jacket that he had prepared there.

She smiled gently at Joy, reassuring her friend that she was fine.

“Be careful on the road,” says Joy.

“Ehm...,” says Evangeline nodded.

He put on his backpack and walked out of the room. Not to forget he also picked up the supplies that had been prepared.

Joy watches the theme in silence, until Evangeline disappears behind the apartment door.
