CHAPTER 2: Treating the Mac Duff

After Evangeline was content to cry with as much as she had left, the girl was now sitting on the chair beside her husband's bed.

He stared at the pale face fixedly, without a single word being said. It has been going on for over thirty minutes.

Suddenly, the girl got up from her seat. His outstretched hand touched Ardiaz's temple and rubbed it gently.

“Be quick to wake up and keep your promise, hem. Today, I can only accompany you all this time. Next time, I promise I'll talk to you more. Sorry I was so crybaby. I was so surprised. You must understand that. So, quickly get up and keep your promise to tell me everything,” Evangeline said.

He looked back at the handsome face that now looked weak. The strong figure in front of him seemed to just disappear from Ardiaz.

Evangeline slowly brought her face closer to Ardiaz's. Carefully, he kissed the man's forehead softly.

He breathed in the scent that had now even turned into a hospital smell that made him very uncomfortable.

Evangeline then came out leaving Ardiaz there, because there was no way she could linger in the place, considering that she currently still had to cover up her true identity.

Outside, he saw Mac Duff still standing tall, standing guard with his men. Evangeline looks at the stroller that was brought by Alexa, and remembers that the woman asked her to treat Mac Duff's wounds.

He walked towards the man and suddenly pulled his hand. Mac Duff was surprised and pulled over.

However, Evangeline again grabbed him and led the man to sit down. This time, Mac Duff did not refuse and followed him, although he did not understand what the girl was doing.

After sitting down, Evangeline turned to the stroller and picked up a bottle of wound cleaning fluid.

“What are you...,” ask Mac duff.

“Are we not in a show right now? As a lover, it's not my job to help you heal wounds,” Evangeline interrupted before Mac duff finished speaking.

The man fell silent. As Evangeline scanned herself to see where her wounds were, Mac Duff grabbed a cotton swab from Evangeline's hand.

“Let me do it alone,” he said.

However, the girl was faster and kept the sterile cotton away from the man while exclaiming,

“Me.” Evangeline saw the blood on Mac Duff's temple.

His hands were outstretched and was about to grab the man's head. Mac Duff dodged, but Evangeline squinted her eyes at Mac Duff and then glared at him

“According to your lover.This is all your ideas are not,” said Evangeline.

Mac Duff is no longer evasive. He could only allow the girl to treat his injuries.

Evangeline was so painstaking in taking care of the wound on the man's face. Mac Duff even felt so warm with the gentle treatment of his partner's wife.

Finished with wounds on his face and around his neck, he then asked mac duff to open his jacket. But the man refused and made Evangeline take the initiative to open it herself.

The girl was shocked when she felt how much her legs were in the man's jacket.

However, when Evangeline was about to open it, Mac Duff again held the girl's hand until making the two see each other.

Evangeline did not care and brushed off Mac duff's hand, then again tried to open the man's jacket until it was seen a gaping wound that had runny, even the liquid penetrated the shirt he was wearing.

The girl raised her face and looked at the man in front of her with a slight squint.

“Wounds this bad you just let it go? Surely the woman was angry because you did not want to be treated, so I was dragged here to be able to treat your wounds,” said Evangeline.

“I don't need to be treated. Wounds like this can heal on their own,” elak Mac duff.

The man attempts to recoup his jacket, but Evangeline and the girl are blocked from even violently removing it from Mac Duff's body.

“You...,” reject Mac duff.

“But what should be here?” ask Mac duff objections.

Evangeline immediately stopped forcing. He then stood up and tidied up the medical equipment previously carried by Alexa.

“Good. Let's go over there. It turns out men like you can be ashamed too,” Evangeline said.

He pointed to a room not far from Ardiaz's. A medical action room, which happened to be empty at the time.

Evangeline took her stroller and entered first. Mac Duff only let out a long sigh of having to deal with Evangeline's aggravating girl.

A stubborn girl who always does things as she pleases, no matter the opinions of others. The girl who always forces if she already wants something.

According to his true nature, Mac Duff will not hesitate to hurt the girl he considers a bully, Evangeline said. It's just that, seeing Ardiaz, he can't do that to the girl.

He can only obey, in order to keep the person loved by his partner.

After Mac Duff came in, Evangeline asked him to take off all his clothes.

Mac duff refused. However, Evangeline turned around and looked at the man. He looked from the bottom up, and then turned back around.

“Good. Just the top of the only thing you took off,” Evangeline error.

Mac Duff then undressed. He frowned as both arms had to be raised to remove his shirt.

The man's hissing sound made Evangeline look at a glance, and see how terrible the wound on the left abdomen of the man was.

The girl even knitted her eyebrows together, poking at her lips, when she saw the wound on Mac Duff's stomach.

“Quick here. Sit on this bed and let me cover your terrible wounds,” exclaimed Evangeline without turning her head.

The girl was still busy preparing her equipment.

Mac Duff, who had taken off his shirt, sat on the bed, right in front of Evangeline. After the man was there, Ardiaz's wife immediately poured antiseptic over the gauze and began to clean the wound.

“What is this incision? Looks like it took a few stitches. But unfortunately, I don't know how to sew a wound. Do you want to be my guinea pig?” ask Evangeline flat.

Mac duff was speechless at how calm the girl looked at the wound that had even begun to fester. The incision wound won not too deep, but it was enough to make those who saw felt disgusted and horrified.

His gaze was fixed on the girl, and forgot to answer all the questions earlier.

To be honest, Evangeline was afraid to see this wound. His hands trembled as he touched Mac Duff's stomach.

He almost cried to see it. However, Evangeline held all those feelings in her heart.

He tried to cover it up and pretend to be calm, so that it would no longer be considered weak by people.

Moreover, it seemed that from now on he would have to get used to all kinds of injuries. Especially seeing Ardiaz who is currently dying from severe injuries suffered during the battle between mafia groups.
