CHAPTER 2: Pretending to be tough

Evangeline looked up again at the man's face. Mac duff instantly came to his senses from his mind and threw his face in another direction.

“Are you being touched by this kindness of my heart, huh?” chirps Evangeline.

“I just didn't expect you not to faint after seeing my injuries,” said Mac duff, while throwing away his nervousness from being caught staring at the girl all along.

“Ah... Is correct. Ardiaz must have said something bad about me. Really that guy. Why is he so annoying?” evangeline.

The girl hurriedly turned her eyes and lowered her head. He pretended to focus on Mac duff's wounds, even though he was holding back his tears from falling in front of the man.

Evangeline had trouble breathing because her chest felt tight, when she remembered her memories with her husband.

“Haahhh... Alright. Because you didn't answer, so I assume you wouldn't mind if I made you my guinea pig,” said Evangeline, who keeps trying to cover her stuff.

He turned around and looked at the things on the troller. There is a sewing tool in the form of yarn and also the needle.

There are also sewing devices shaped like staples, which can be easily used to close incision wounds.

“Let's try using this tool. First of all, I'll find a way on the internet,” he murmured to himself.

Without him noticing, Mac Duff continued to notice him with an inexplicable gaze.

After seeing the steps to sew the wound using the tool on the internet, Evangeline then began to follow the instructions and then practice directly on the body of the first patient.

Unfortunately, Evangeline immediately practiced sewing without giving Mac duff anesthesia, which made the man have to squeeze something while enduring the pain caused by Evangeline.

He tightly closed his mouth, and repeatedly frowned. His eyes were closed, and his breath was restrained whenever the staples-like tool made a knot with sewing thread on his body.

When finished, Evangeline smeared it with wound medicine and covered it with a bandage. He wrapped the linen around his stomach and waist, then made sure that the bond was tight.

He then saw another wound on his arm and shoulder. But it's not as bad as before. Evangeline is focusing on her treatment.

The two people were completely voiceless, and were busy with their respective minds.

They were there long enough, until Evangeline had finished treating all the wounds on Mac Duff's upper body.

“I'll just take care of the top. If there's a wound downstairs, you'll treat it yourself. Ah... and this,” said Evangeline.

The girl is seen removing her latex gloves and showing a shopping bag at the bottom of the troller.

“It looks like the woman prepared it for you. You better change your clothes with this. After all, your clothes are dirty, no,” said Evangeline.

The girl turned around and walked out of the room.

The next day, after Alexa took him to the hospital, and Mac Duff invited him to a show, Evangeline came back after he came home from Merciful.

This time he came up with a box of dinner that he accidentally bought for Mac duff.

Evangeline felt that just this way, she could thank him for being by her husband's side and looking after him all day.

When he arrived near the sterile room, Evangeline saw Alexa who had already sat in front of the sterile room.

When Alexa accidentally turned her head towards Evangeline's arrival, the two's gazes met. The girl again stepped closer, and bowed a little while greeting when she got there.

Alexa looks at the package carried by Evangeline. It was obvious that he didn't like to see it.

“Did you bring dinner for me?” ask Mac duff.

The man immediately grabbed the package from Evangeline's hand. He sat down and opened the box inside.

“Sit. Let's eat together,” exclaimed Mac duff while pulling Evangeline's hand to sit next to him.

Just as Evangeline was about to sit down, she saw the same package sitting on the waiting chair. The girl suspects that it was brought by Alexa, but Mac Duff refuses to accept it.

Evangeline turned to the side, seeing the look on Alexa's face that was so clearly upset.

Suddenly, the woman woke up with both hands folded in front of her chest. He glanced at the two people beside him furiously.

“Thank God that someone has taken care of you. I no longer need to worry about your fate,” he said ketus.

He turned and walked away.

Evangeline continued to see Alexa leave until she disappeared in the distance. He turned to look at Mac Duff and looked at the man.

“Sounds like that woman likes you? He's not trying to tease you, like he did with Ardiaz. But he paid special attention to you. He's even worried about your condition. Why did you hurt her this way?” ask Evangeline.

However, Mac Duff did not reply and continued to prepare food into his mouth.

Evangeline then took the water in the package and opened it for Mac Duff.

“Minum. Don't eat too fast. Your digestion can be disrupted,” said Evangeline while offering a bottle of drink to Mac duff.

The man froze for a moment, and then grabbed the drink from Evangeline. He took it a few times and laid it on the floor.

Evangeline only sighed looking at the man, before she finally got up from her seat.

Mac Duff, who saw the girl awake, raised his face and saw where she was going.

“I'll be in. Please stand guard here for me, okay,” Evangeline said with a sweet smile at Mac duff.

He went inside and left Mac Duff there alone.
