TROOPS AND BANKING(3)

After Zack the adventurer who was their guide came, the group led by Rain finally went to work on their mission.

Surely before they left, they had prepared the various equipment needed. Since they were going to face the orcs, some tools had been purchased such as healing potions, spare swords, up to some herbs.

All of those tools were the ones Alex had recommended Rain to buy. For the healing potion, they only needed to ask the priests to make it while for the other ingredients, they bought it to some merchants and some magicians.

Oh yes, because of Alex's closeness with the witches, now the witches seem to have started coming to Hadalon and they want to make a branch here. If lucky, it could be that they would build the Wizard Tower in this region.

Well, after Rain finished buying all their equipment and equipment, he left all the luggage to Egon. Since Egon was a rough man who was 1.87 m tall and seemed to have the most powerful physical strength among them, he became a porter in this group. Moreover, he was still a junior soldier who was often asked by his seniors.

They set off in a simple horse-drawn carriage without a roof.

During the trip, the atmosphere felt awkward. Perhaps only the two senior soldiers that Rain had brought along were both named Odward and Edgod who were frequently chatting. But that was just the two of them. As for new warriors like Egon, Pierce, and Yeux just sat still while staring at the scene with lazy gazes. It seemed like since it was still a junior warrior, there was still no chemistry embedded into the three of them.

Zack who was just an outsider though could feel the awkward atmosphere in this place. He became very confused with the party where he was doing this task.

Even though they were noble warriors, were they indeed this quiet? thought Zack.

While Zack was secretly comparing Rain's group to the generally solid group of adventurers, Yeux had his own thoughts.

As an adventurer, he certainly knew how powerful the orc was. He quietly peeked at his group of friends then sighed.

Hah ... this is dubious.

Compared to Egon and Pierce, he was highly doubtful of the abilities of his senior warriors. Edgod and Odward looked like ordinary warriors whose appearance did not show any superiority at all. Moreover, he also could not expect the adventurers they hired. Based on his introduction, this adventurer named Zack was a roleless adventurer, meaning he was just an ordinary human with no ability to control aura and mana. This guy was just really a driver, nothing more.

Shit, if I knew they hired low-level adventurers it would be better for me to be the guide myself! thought.

As a former adventurer, Yeux has the ability to explore the jungle. Unfortunately he was simply unable to show that to Rain and the others, either,

Yet compared to all those people, he felt a little complicated with their current leader.

Rain, head of the Alexandreia Security Authority.

From any angle of view, this fellow was indeed too young!

In Yeux's view, he saw Rain was too young and looked weak.

Where did this young man get such a high position? Did she ask him from her parents?  Ah shit!

Yeux couldn't help but think badly of Rain. It was quite understandable considering Rain's age was too young for his current position and he had also never seen Rain's ability.

Even Yeux thought that this mission was nothing more than a test from someone to Rain to prove that he was indeed competent to hold the position of Chairman of the Security Authority. If that was true, then neither Yeux nor the others were more than a meat shield for Rain.

Damnit damnit!

What Yeux thought was not entirely wrong. Indeed, this mission is partly based on Alex's desire to see the development of Rain. That's why instead of going on a mission by mobilizing large numbers of troops to kill a bunch of orcs, Alex prefers to send a small group with Rain who will be the leader.

They will go to a small village not far from the Magdala Mountains. The people in the village were the ones who made the report regarding the whereabouts of the orcs.

It took them at least half a day to get to the village. When it arrived, the sun was almost setting. It would be very bad if they decided to clean the orcs at night. Especially in addition to the demi-humans like orcs able to see in the dark, it must be realized that in the forest there are creatures that may not be less dangerous than orcs.

So they decided to do a raid tomorrow.

The group stayed at the village chief's house. Fortunately the villagers looked quite friendly and friendly. They are even treated to simple food like the atmosphere in the countryside.

When the sun had risen, and the day had changed, it was time for Rain and the others to prepare to enter the forest.

They will enter the forest located at the foot of the Magdala mountain range.

This forest is often entered by villagers to hunt or collect plants and fruits. So there are indeed some traces of human existence unfortunately they still do not find the existence of orcs.

But the deeper they entered the forest, the more strange the creatures they found.

They also met some goblins. There are at least 12 goblins there.

Goblins were indeed not an equal opponent for Rain and the others. Even though among them only Rain and Yeux were able to control the aura, but it was not a big deal for them.

"Gather the bodies. We'll take him later" Rain said.

Throughout Rain's experience of raiding with Alex or the Orion adventurers, he realized that the corpses of monsters like demihumans were very valuable. That was why he should not waste this pile of goblin corpses in front of him. So because they could not carry the goblin's corpse during the mission, they chose to leave it for a moment by hanging the corpses in the trees so as not to be eaten by the forest predators.

They resumed their hunt until Yeux suddenly spoke softly to Rain.

"Sir, there seems to be quite a large creature in that direction."

Rain had already observed the background of Yeux who was a former adventurer. That's why he knew this guy's words weren't a joke. In fact, he initially did not want to use the services of adventurers and only relied on Yeux's ability as a guide but it was opposed by Alex on business grounds that he wanted to test the transfer of adventurer rewards from the quest through the banking system.

"Lead the way" said Rain.

"Good!"

Led by Yeux, they slowly walked closer to the creature that seemed to be quite dangerous. As an assassin, Yeux may not have the senses as sensitive as the rangers but he was agile enough that it took him less than a minute to get to the point closest to the alien object. While his group only needed to follow his footsteps.

The seven people were hiding in the bushes. With their own eyes, they saw 5 creatures that had a height of 2.7 meters with a green body and a sinister face. Those creatures were the orcs they were looking for. The orcs had weapons of coarse swords in their hands. It seemed like the orc civilization had been able to create weapons made of iron. But among the orcs, there is an orc that looks different from other orcs.

The orc was wearing a mixed armor of skin and iron, in contrast to other bare-chested orcs. Moreover, he was seen to have a sword that was more qualified than his peers.

"That's an orc warrior," Yeux muttered.

"Orc warriors?" rain asked confusedly.

"Orc warriors are orcs capable of using auras. They look like knights with warrior roles" Yeux explained.

Yeux's explanation was heard well by others especially Rain, Edgod, and Odward who seemed to not know much about demihumans.

"But something is strange. The orc warrior should be the leader of the orcs who lead around 20 normal orcs. But this group of orcs is too few to be led by an orc warrior."

This time it was Zack who spoke to the others.

Yeux also nodded hearing Zack's confusion. So he made his own estimate.

"Most likely this group is a fragment of a larger group and they seem to have been expelled from the main group" Yeux said.

"So that's why they went down the mountain and approached the people's houses" Rain said.

"really. What are we gonna do, sir?" ask Yeux.

Since the number of orcs there were only five people, he was sure that if two people were to fight against one orc, they could definitely win the fight.

"What are we gonna do? Of course attack them."

Before Yeux and the others realized what Rain was going to do, that person had come out of their hiding place and directly launched an attack on the orcs.

"Wait!"

The other Yeux immediately shouted to stop Rain but it was too late.

Rain unsheathed his sword and flowed it with his aura. Then he swung his sword towards the orcs thus creating waves of aura.

The aura wave managed to destroy several trees that were in its path. But when it hit that group of orcs, that wave of aura disappeared.

Who would have thought that the orc warrior who was the head of the orcs was able to repel Rain's attack by using his sword which was also fed by the aura.

What Rain had done did look quite careless but the violent attacks had become his habit. Maybe because of the raid experience he did only in the Barony of Alexandreia (Today became Alexanderbough) whose contents were only kabolds or goblins who had limited strength and intelligence. So that the attack he did was more like a one-sided suppression of those creatures. So when Rain heard the word raid or territory cleanup, Rain only thought about a quick and destructive attack without an organized plan.
