ORION is the name of an adventurous party led by Barnard Trowbridge.
Barnard was a magic warrior with a class as a seirei. It was a class that used the power of other supernatural beings like spirits to increase its power. So that the discipline of Barnard is a combination of martial arts and spiritual-type witchcraft.
Lilac was the nephew of Barnard. He is a magic caster with class as a user talisman. It was a class that came from an alternative-type magic discipline.
The next member is Urien Northwards, a young man filled with passion. He was a very proficient warrior with the discipline of sword aura from martial arts.
Arlenne Darolyn is a martial artist. It was one of the classes of role warriors. Unlike a knight or lancer who uses martial arts by relying on weapons, a martial artist uses the ability of his body so generally they will fight using their bare hands.
The only archer of this group, Sylvy Kaena is a ranger with a class as a marksman. He was the only long-range attacker in the party if it excluded the magic users.
Atlya Rothvale, a magic caster with an arcane-type discipline. She was Barnard's wife, so sometimes everyone would come to grudge her by calling her aunt.
All of those people except Barnard were platinum level adventurers. While Barnard was formally an orichalcum-level adventurer despite the fact on the ground was an adamantite adventurer.
They are actually quite a well-known group of adventurers and have long been traversing buana across different countries. But unfortunately when they reached the county called Fertiphile, they were stuck in a circle full of problems.
First, the reward they should have received after conducting a raid in the false dungeon did not come.
Second, they were trapped by the pressure of the three great nobles who 'forced' them to participate in the fief war.
Lastly now they are dragged in a case from one of the companies that has committed an act of contempt and theft of assets belonging to a noble.
They assisted the Otilians in the fief war, although in fact their actions were illegal because an adventurer was forbidden to interfere in warfare between nobles and kingdoms. After they finished, they returned to the Fertiphile and at that time they received a summons from the court as eyewitnesses to the case from Nightorb Corp.
The six men were questioned alternately over a long period of time.
Surely it's exhausting.
Although all adventurers are strong, they must know that in the human world not only destructive power is needed but also other forces are needed in the sense of power and wealth. So the point is, how upset and angry they are, still not allowed to rampage or attack someone.
"Damn, this is exhausting."
Urien sighed. He and his group could not calm down even when they returned to Fertiphile after helping the fief war in Otilia.
"The fuckers! Can't we break into the fort and get out of here?"
This time Arlenne asked his group out of annoyance.
After they returned from Otilia, they were forbidden to leave the city of Fertihall. This was the same as the rules that were applied to them earlier.
"Don't think about making such a problem" Barnard said.
"But this is too much! From yesterday we have to go back and forth to court just for the case of that damn company!" yell Urien.
"Huh ...."
Everyone could only sigh.
They were currently heading towards the guild after previously going to the court. His goal was none other than to search for a worthy quest. They had not taken the quest from the guild for a long time.
"Welcome, Oh the adventurers of Orion you've finally come."
The female receptionist smiled warmly while giving a greeting.
"Is there something?" ask Barnard.
"Mr Barnard, you and your group were invited by the guild master to his office. There's something I want to discuss. I hope you don't mind."
Questionnaires filled with Orion adventurers guided by a female staff went to the guild master's office.
Arriving inside the office, the guild master, Gustav immediately greeted them enthusiastically.
"Hoh, you've come! Nice, nice. Please sit down."
The adventurers sat on the sofa that had been provided. Fortunately, the amount of softwares is sufficient.
Conversations between adventurers were usually much more casual and used informal language regardless of their status. Moreover Gustav was a former adventurer so he clearly felt more comfortable to talk informally.
Barnard represented his party to ask questions.
"Guild Master, what do you want to talk to us about?"
"Just relax, I just want to give you this."
Gustavo got up from his couch and took out a quest flyer from his desk.
He gave the paper to another Barnard to read.
"It!"
Everyone especially Barnard instantly got up from his seat.
"What the fuck? Do you want us to receive this quest from the nobility again!?" shouted Barnard.
What was being given to them was a quest from Alex to escort him including escorts during the journey towards the Barony of Alexandreia, conducting raids in the region, to train some of his subordinates.
"Listen to it"
Gustav attempted to calm down Barnard who was currently emotional.
Barnard couldn't stand it. They have been 'forced' to follow the fief war, the reward of the unpaid raid, and become witnesses in court. All that bad luck came about because of that guy. The guy named Alex is the cause of all their problems.
"Really! We don't want to meet that guy!"
"What about you, Lilac?" ask Arlenne
Arlenne thought the same as Barnard.
"Hehehe .. yeah, how ...."
Lilac could not answer. Although he realized the bad luck overwritten by his group was indeed one of them because of interacting with Alex. But personally he likes to be close to the man he is obsessed with.
"Please don't be like that. Look, right now Nightorb who is the main sponsor of the adventurer guild here is bankrupt. So the guild's only hope was to cooperate with the nobles. So please accept this quest, please" said Gustav sadly.
"Sir, look, we don't care about the fate of your guild but obviously don't force us to accept this quest" Barnard said sarcastically.
"Why? Didn't you guys ever accept their offer to join the war without notifying the guild?"
"It's because of that! Do you think we'd accept that stupid request if we weren't forced?!" shouted Barnard.
Even our pay is still unpaid, Barnard thought sadly.
It does. Arriving at the Fertiphile. The nobility simply did not call them to confirm the payment after helping the fief war.
"If this keeps on we can fall poor."
This time Arlenne was the one who denied the guild master's request.
"Oh right, the client has already given you a down payment! Waita minute!"
Gustav hurriedly exited his office and called the staff to bring a pouch full of gold coins from the safe room.
"Even if you bribe us with money, I won't be willing to accept - waw what is it!?"
Arlenne instantly turned his attention towards the stack of gold coins carried by Gustav.
"J-so, they gave you a 40% Dp for this quest. So you have to accept it, yeah."
The bag Gustav held contained at least 8,000 gold coins. That was because the quest given gave a reward of 20,000 gold coins from the client.
"Hmm .. well it doesn't seem so bad. This is just an escort mission. Why not."
Arlenne's attitude suddenly changed when he saw money.
If it used to be possible that much gold would not shake his heart. But now they have been more than two seasons not getting any acceptance.
But Barnard refused.
He was determined to no longer interfere with that person named Alex.
Even when the guild master had already begged him.
Please this is for my future I don't want to go to jail! I shouted Gustav in my heart.
In the end Barnard and his group left the guild master's office with Gustav's miserable state.
They went to the inn to rest after doing many activities throughout the day.
But when night fell the lodging staff came and called them from their respective rooms.
"Adventurers, someone from the Fertiphile House wants to see you all" the staff said.
Those Fertiphile bastards!
Enraged, Barnard descended into the lobby and met with some representatives of the noble house.
"Honored Adventurer Master, I represent Governor-"
Before the man could speak, his collar was pulled by Barnard, causing him to choke.
"What do you want!?"
"Master, relax. We just want to thank Mr. Governor for your participation and your party in assisting the liberation of the territory of Otilia."
The friend of the man who was strangled by Barnard was trying to mediate.
Then in a hurry a group of people walked into the hotel with a few bags of gold that were much larger than what Gustav had offered before.
"Master, this is as my Master's gratitude to you and your party. There are at least 10,000,000 gold coins. I hope you accept it."
Everyone's mouths were wide open including the adventurers of Orion and the hotel staff.
10,000,000 gold coins was a huge sum.
Barnard had regained consciousness sooner than anyone else.
"J-If so we will receive a sincere blessing from my Master. Oh right, if it's not wrong wouldn't my master need a bodyguard to travel? Are our services still needed by my Lord?"
