LXXXII - Meet Idris

I pointed at the woman standing in my left corner. “Starting from you.”

The woman looked down. “Greetings, Queen. I am Megan Gill Watts. Single daughter Count Watts.” Megan started to introduce herself to me. I just gave him a thin smile. “We have lived for many years with the current Imperial system. In my opinion, if there is a change of the system, it's called tarnishing our own culture. I object to that.”

“Next,” I said not interested.

“Greetings, Queen,” greet the woman standing in the middle. “I'm Alisha Sutthon Rogers. The second daughter of Marquess Rogers. For the new system, I disagree with Miss Watts. We must not forget what achievements the Empire has gained to build this region for the better. Old system is still very good to apply compared to looking for a new system.”

“You two can go out,” I said to Megan and Alisha. “Jasmine, take them to the living room. Have the waiter entertain them.”

Jasmine nodded. “Good, Queen.”

Jasmine, Megan, and Alisha. I leaned against the back of the chair I was sitting on to try to relax more. I looked at the last woman who was still silent while looking down, then smiled.

“Maya Bell Barker, the only daughter of Baron Barker. What do you think if the Empire system is changed?” ask me in a slow tone.

“If the Queen questions like that, the Queen has the intention to change the Empire system, right?” ask Maya back.

Hoo. She's smart too.

“How do you think?”

“If the Queen does intend that, I just want to say that it is an act that is understandable. The Imperial System that has existed since the Vanhoiren Empire was established has its shortcomings. The system belonged to the upper class nobility. In other words, the people who had great power and share in the Empire.

Maybe the Queen feels the same way because the Queen is also an ordinary noble just like me. As long as the Queen wants a change to build the Empire better and fair to all parties, all I can do is support and assist the Queen in achieving that,”.

I smiled because I could not hide my pleasure and satisfaction towards Maya's answer. I stood up and gave the palace special pin to my Chief Servant. Maya who saw that immediately glared in shock.

“All who say true. Therefore, I need you,” I told Maya. “You are officially the Chief Servant of the Queen's Palace.”

I boarded the horse-drawn carriage with Matilda and also Chloe, heading for the Imperial Palace to meet with Idris. I saw the silhouette of Ava's shadow on the roof of the Queen's Palace. He will follow me to the Imperial Palace right now.

Maya is left with Jasmine. He'll be directed by Jasmine while I'm gone. Meanwhile, Hendery insisted on coming along. But, I forbade him because of the problem I was trying to solve, directly related to his family.

After a few minutes of carriage ride, we finally arrived at the Imperial Palace. We were greeted by Jack aka Jack Hindley. It's only fitting that Jack never knew his surname. Turns ...

“Welcome, Her Majesty the Queen,” greet Jack. “Please follow me.”

I nodded and followed Jack from behind. Matilda and Chloe walked to my right and left. We walked down the long, deserted corridor of the palace. Jack drove me to Idris' office.

The door was knocked twice, and Idris told us to go inside. As the door opened, I could see that Idris's appearance was messier than the last time I saw him. What the hell's going on?

“Please wait outside,” I said to Matilda and Chloe.

“I miss you,” said Idris.

“Have you read my letter?” my many.

“Hm, already.” He stretched his arms, then looked at me. “What business do you want to talk about, My wife?”

“Yesterday I almost got stabbed by a waiter in my palace,” I said seriously. Idris glared in shock, but said nothing. He was waiting for me to finish my story. “After searching for evidence and interrogating the waiter, the mastermind leads to Marchioness Franklin.”

I gave Marchioness Franklin's letter to Idris. And he scratched his non-itchy head. “Are you sure about this? Ah, most importantly, are you okay?”

“I wouldn't be here if I wasn't okay. Most importantly, you can compare the handwriting on the letter to the Marchioness Franklin letter you received,”.

Idris walked towards his desk still clasping the letter. He ransacked the contents of the desk drawer and found a letter with the Franklin family stamp. He seemed to be comparing the writing from the letter I gave him, with the letter he got.

From his agitated gestures, I could tell that it was a genuine letter. There is no objection in the least.

“My wife, do you know I love you?”

I scrunched my forehead. “Then?”

“The Franklin family has been important to the Imperial family since the Empire was built. If Marchioness Franklin is executed for a crime she committed—”

“Hearing the Queen is an unforgivable act. You know that too. The Marchioness Franklin even devised a plan to get me killed. It was a criminal act,” I said with a sad face. “If heavy hanging execution for you, I have a better suggestion.”

“What is it?”

“Stay hang execution for the servant and revoke the Franklin family's noble title,” I replied quickly.

Idris squeaks his temple. “Good. Just do it,” said Idris.

“Thank you, Idris.” I smiled at him. “By the way, how is Miss Hindley? Has his condition improved?”

Idris nodded. “The Imperial Doctor did his job well. You don't have to worry, my wife. Although not yet able to get out of bed, Rose has been able to eat a lot and diligently take medicine.”

Soon Concubine Sienna will definitely find a way to return her soul to its original place. It's just a matter of time, I have to be ready at all times.

“But, if we revoke the Franklin family's nobility, there will be many other upper-class nobles protesting,”. “Can you handle that?”

“What I did was not wrong. I stand up for my rights as Queen. If I let the Marchioness Franklin off despite her intention to kill me, what if in the future she would do the same again? Are you going to let that happen again even if my life is on the edge?” I asked Idris.

“Of course not, My wife. Just do what you want to do. As long as you can withstand the repercussions of your decision, I will always be on your side,” Idris said.

I could only smile at her words that actually felt ridiculous in my ears.
