The Second Life's

The Second Life's
LXXIII - Rescue Mission (II)

“Ugh, not yet in action is tired first,” complained Ava. He walked first without slouching towards the palace building through the back road. “Speedly or later we will still be caught by the concubine. Don't let your guard down.”

I just kept quiet and followed Ava from behind.

There was no one along the hallway we were walking through. Guards were not seen patrolling either. Ava even deliberately stomped her feet on the floor while walking up the stairs.

However, the atmosphere that was once normal now turned into full of unpleasant pressure. The origin of the pressure comes from the room whose lighting is still on. I was the only one who seemed to be affected by that pressure. Ava looks ordinary and even walks casually towards the room.

“He's there,” whispered Ava with bated breath. “Whatever happens ja—”

Brak!

Suddenly Ava's body was thrown into the wall to be destroyed. The dust flying from the wall ruins made it hard for me to see. If Ava had not put a protective layer on her body a second sooner, Ava would have been instantly injured by the surprise attack.

Me and Ava retreated backwards as they sensed the danger ahead. He's a-comin.

Concubine Sienna.

“Why visit by back road?” asked Concubine Sienna while staring intently at us.

“Win big chest only,” muttered Ava while patting her dust-pricked clothes. The next second, I was already given protective magic. I can't get out of here. “Sit's there.”

Maybe I'll just be a burden to Ava. But why was I invited to come too?

Sienna's concubine uses blink magic. He would move around quickly with just the blink of an eye. Ava just stayed in the middle while closing her eyes. He dodged the attack after attack given by Consort Sienna.

After that, Ava's hand was raised upwards, and it had miraculously gripped the neck of Consort Sienna. Ava lifted the body of Consort Sienna until Consort Sienna thrashed with asphyxiation. I was amazed to see that sight.

“You haven't been able to new tumbal, huh?” ask Ava.

Concubine Sienna laughed with great difficulty. It made Ava clucked upset to make him have to tighten his strangulation on the neck of Consort Sienna.

“Switch!” shouted Concubine Sienna. In the next instant, Consort Sienna was instantly unconscious.

Ava throws Consort Sienna's body on the floor and steps on it to vent emotions. “Women br*ngsek. He played me.”

“What happened?” I asked Ava.

“He swapped with others. Now, the person in this body is the person whose body he wears,” said Ava.

The protective magic Ava gave me she lost. I walked up to him and checked the body condition of Consort Sienna. Ava had put a magic chain in the hand and foot of Consort Sienna so as not to run away everywhere.

“We just put him in his room earlier,” Ava said. Ava dragged Consort Sienna's body into the room where Consort Sienna came out earlier.

Upon entering, the room was just like an ordinary work space. There was nothing suspicious like what I had in mind before coming here. Ava makes soundproof magic, and throws Consort Sienna's body to the floor just like that.

Cleks!

That door is not locked. We were greeted by a long ladder down. That's basement.

I gulped and followed Ava down the stairs. Step by step, an unpleasant feeling began to seep into my body. Minimal lighting, making this place impressed spooky.

At the end of the stairs, there was another door. This time it was a plain black door with a golden doorknob. Although the door was locked, Ava was able to open it with magic. We found the door again for the third time. Again, Ava opened it with all her might.

When the door opened, we were both shocked by what we saw. The basement of the great Consort Sienna was filled with. Yes, bodies. The stench even makes me nauseous. These are the missing people!

Some have become skeletons, some are experiencing the process of decay. Ugh, horrible.

“There are dead from blood loss,” comments Ava.

“Where is Isla?” I spread my eyes all over the room.

Ava raised her hand and pointed to a corner of the room. Ah, his hand is shaking. That's not a good sign.

My feet reflexively ran in the direction that Ava pointed. I stopped when I saw a familiar figure chained to the floor. I fell on that dirty floor. We late? Are we late?!

“No ... na ..?” The sound made me look surprised. As much as I could stand up again. As powerful as I was approaching Isla who was now stretched weakly on the dirty floor full of blood. He ... is still alive. Isla ... is still alive!

“Yes, it's me, Isla! Hang in! Ava and I have come, we have come to save you!” I shouted happy and sad at the same time.

I put Isla's head on my lap. A little embrace his body that was not wrapped by a thread. His body was full of wounds and thin dry. His face is like that too. His legs, neck, and hands had been chained for a long time. I can see his scar in the chained area. Maybe Isla was trying to untie the chain to make it hurt.

Ava was standing next to me. Didn't say anything. He just gave me a blanket he didn't know where he was taking it from. I also covered Isla's body so as not to get cold.

“Te .. ri .. ma .. ka .. sih ...,” says Isla as hard as she can.

“Be quiet. You are weak,” I said concerned. I looked at Ava. “Please heal Isla!”

Ava shakes. “It's too late,” Ava said. “She's already on her threshold. If I take out his mana core, he will soon die without being tormented any longer.”

“What?” I can't believe what Ava said just now. “Do not joke. This is not the time to joke!”

“I also hope that what I say is a joke. But, I'm telling the truth.” Ava crouched down and touched Isla's neck. “All I can do is help Isla talk smoothly.”

“Thank you, Mistress.” Isla smiles. Ava just stood up and stood up. “Thank you, Miss. I'm glad you guys came .., and I'm glad to hang on until you guys come get me. I'm so grateful for that.”

Ah, goddamn. I don't know why my tears just suddenly fell without me wanting to.
