A few days passed.
My last dinner with Idris was boring. Rather than hearing his chatter about the food and state of the palace, I was more interested in his remark saying not to worry about the state of the Emperor because he would handle it himself.
Though his current position is his own father who is in trouble. Moreover, the problem is closely related to something bad.
Poison.
I sort through the events that I have experienced in my second life. A lot of things have changed. Many things remained the same, such as the affection of Father and the people in my residence .., then Idris's behavior that grieved me.
“What do you think of Miss?” ask Chloe who finished braiding my hair to the left side. “Does Miss feel anything is lacking?”
I smiled at Chloe. “It's very fitting. Thank you, you may return to work.”
“Good,” said Chloe who then came out of my room.
Tomorrow is the day of my wedding with Idris, as well as his accession to the throne he became Emperor XX. Today is my last day in singles. In keeping with the traditions of the Empire that have existed for a long time, I can go wherever I want along with anyone.
Chloe's been working hard for the past few days together with Holly. Currently, Chloe is also preparing to be chosen as my lady. It feels less appropriate if I force the power with I take a walk.
I can't go with Idris— either, even though I don't want to. The bridegroom and the bride must not meet face to face until the day we make a sacred promise.
Good thing, a day without seeing Idris's face is more than enough.
Taking Lucas for a walk is not the right thing to do right now. By the way, I haven't called Lucas in a long time and asked him about the news in the West. Tonight, I'll try to reach her before I go to bed. At least my longing for her will be treated.
Dad and Jayden are busy helping the Empire take care of my wedding. So, I can't take them both away.
It feels boring.
At first I thought so. But then I came up with an interesting idea that could make Idris hot-cold.
Geck! Geck! Geck!
“Ink,” I said.
Holly opened my bedroom door and looked down. “Mr Franklin is already waiting for Miss in front.”
“Good.”
I clawed my wicker basket on the dresser, then finally stood up and walked out together with Holly. Hendery is ready with a suit of knight in general. He smiled when he saw me coming from the second floor.
Here's my walking partner today. We finally met after a long time. Hendery has not changed.
“Wah, you look charming, Miss Winston,” praise Hendery to me. “What Miss Winston is trying to tease me?”
“You're overreacting, Mr. Franklin. I'm not interested in you at all,” I said blatantly. “Let's go.”
Hendery smile. “Nona Winston absolutely cannot be spoken to,” said Hendery. “Don't pout like that!”
“If you tease me again, I won't want to put on a friendly face to you.” I got into the horse-drawn carriage with Max's help. Hendery came in and sat down beside me. “Holly, please take care of the palace while I'm away.”
“Good, Miss Winston. Have fun,” said Holly who then looked down.
Max finally ran the horse-drawn carriage that we were riding towards the city. I want to enjoy my freedom before being locked up in the palace. Walking around freely outside the palace would be difficult if I had already ascended the throne to become Queen.
“How was Mr Franklin's fate after your Mother got a sentence from the High Court?” manya curious. I'm interested in hearing Hendery's complaint.
Hendery sighed and looked glum. “He kicked me out of the house. I slept in a knight camp for a while until my mother's anger subsided,” Hendery said. “I'm not too worried about my mother's anger. I did everything for what you promised, Miss Winston.”
The crazy department.
“I will not forget that promise, Mr. Franklin.” Let my eyes out the train window.
Hendery stood beside me as close as possible. He carried his sword in case something bad happened to us.
The city has not changed much. There are still poor people sitting by the roadside begging. I have spent a lot of my time as Queen reviewing a lot of things about the poor. The help I give as much as I can make sure is even.
The people are starting to recover. But, my execution day arrived. And I couldn't finish it well then.
“Is Miss Winston nervous about Miss's wedding tomorrow?” ask Hendery to me.
“Compared nervous, in fact I can't wait to soon become a Queen,” I whispered to Hendery. “You know what I mean.”
“Then I will protect Miss Winston while inside the palace. But, is our relationship not too formal?”
I sniffed at Hendery. “Isn't our relationship a formal one?”
“True too. But it's weird if you're being polite to me who's your age like this,” Hendery said.
“So, what does Mr Franklin want?” aska interested.
“Nona Winston can be casual with me and even we can also call each other by our little name,” Hendery suggested.
I laughed with Hendery's attitude that reminded me of Lucas. But of course I only like the King of the West.
“Why did Miss laugh? Am I that funny?” ask Hendery while pouting.
“Yes, Mr. Franklin. You are very funny. But, I want to reject your proposal. Doesn't Mr Franklin remember if we weren't familiar at first?” I took my eyes off of him while walking. “Only a deal that allows us to talk without burden like now.”
“Stiff woman Winston Miss, yes.”
“That's.” I smile. “Because I don't want to upset Mr. Franklin, Mr. Franklin can call my name today only.”
Hendery smiled happily when he heard my words just now. He pulled my hand to stop by the side of the road. We're facing each other now.
“Well, then ..., I call now,” said Hendery.
“Good.”
“Char-lotte ..” Hendery's tone sounded strange in my ear. Funny and funny mixed into one. It seems like he has long wanted to call me familiar.
“Enough, Mr. Franklin.” I shut my mouth. “You want to keep me entertained?”
“Of course, no! I'm calling your name for the first time,” said Hendery. “But, it would be unfair if only I called you like this .., try to call my name.”
“Not so the deal, Mr. Franklin,” I said nervously.
“Try it,” urged Hendery.
“Alright, uhm, Mr ... Hendery ...”
Hendery looks disappointed. “Don't do it, Charlotte. Try to relax more.”
Now he's better at calling my name.
“Hendery?” I'm staring.
“True ..., rightly so. All right, now ..., let's go for a walk,” said Hendery pleased.
We spent time together until the afternoon. Hendery seemed to enjoy taking a walk with me. Especially when I buy him some food.
