The Second Life's
LIX - Night Talk

Isaac placed the last cup of tea on the table before finally leaving the three of us in this room. I saw Lucas's face that radiated happiness since I came. I don't know what he's thinking right now.

Unlike Ava, she did not show any expression at all. There was only a flat face and a look of eyes fixed on his teacup. We kept quiet for a while. And I chose to sip this delicious Isaac-made tea.

“I already have a good place to put my portal,” Ava said.

I'm staring. Waiting for Ava to continue her words that were still hanging. Sometimes I glanced at Lucas who was staring at me blatantly. I smiled at him.

“In one of the rooms there is a secret place. Do you know anything about that, Ra-tu?” Ava asked with a slight mocking tone. That's his nature. Despite being old and supposedly wrinkled, Ava still acts like a teenager who is in puberty.

“I don't know about that,” I replied as if.

“It's in the side room. I could see a small crack covered by a bookshelf. Exactly like the secret room in the Bronze Palace,” Ava said. “After the Emperor leaves, we can install a portal on that place. I've also disguised the portal that's in your bathroom. So, if anyone goes in there, definitely won't be able to see it.”

“Ava's grandmother was great,” praise Lucas.

“Either why am I pleased and upset by your praise, Raja,” Ava said while clucking in annoyance. “It's already night. It would be better if the King immediately went home and rested in the palace.”

Lucas pouting. “Oh, come. How can you expel the King of your own territory? If not my insider, Granny would have been beheaded.”

A hard punch landed on Lucas' head.

“Where can you behead me, son s*alan!” snapped Ava. “If fishing for my emotions again, the King must go home.”

“Alright, Grandma. I'll be a sweet kid ..” Lucas said with a slovenly face.

“Better we just focus on our next step,” said I was trying to mediate. “How about the plan to save Isla?”

Ava contemplating. “True too. I've been thinking about that for a long time. But .., the chances of Isla surviving are only 30 percent. Can you take it?”

What Ava said has a point, too. The span of Isla's disappearance has been more than months. Being found dying alone is already very good. What holds Isla is Consort Sienna. We never knew what Concubine Sienna did to Isla.

“I still want to save him,” I said full of determination.

“Good, after installing the portal in the Queen's Palace, we will go into the next stage. So, be patient,” said Ava.

I also nodded in understanding.

“After this hour, it is better for the King to come home soon before being sought by your parents,” said Ava.

“I want to stay here ...,” reject Lucas.

I can feel Ava's annoyance from where I'm sitting.

Ava stood up and glared at Lucas. “Quick go now ... or I will complain King's actions today on the chatter ...”

The chatty?

“My newly appointed right hand two days ago,” replied Lucas, who heard my thoughts. “She is very chatty and is Ava.”'s grandson

“Yes, at least he's my grandson, even though he's just a distant grandson ...,” Ava said, admitting.

“Grandmother has been single since birth. The only person who caught Grandma's attention was choosing someone else instead. It's sad,” Lucas said in a mocking tone.

“Oh ..., so Ava is not married?” manywould be surprised.

“Child br*ngsek!” shout Ava. “If not King ... I've made you a rat ...”

“Already, Grandma. I know Grandma didn't dare to do that to the Royal Family. Don't get angry, get old soon. I'll tell you the truth ...”

I think Lucas is overreacting. “Lucas, home. You need to rest. Your work is still piling up, right?” I looked at Lucas without blinking.

“What are you defending Grandma Ava now?”

“I'm on a neutral side. It would be better for you to go home now so Ava doesn't scold you constantly,” I said quietly.

“I still miss you ..” said Lucas.

“Then, why do you keep hurting me instead of making out with Charlotte?!” Ava sat back on the couch.

“And I also want to rest. Today I am very tired,” I said. “Sorry, Lucas.”

Lucas sighed, then nodded. “Alright, Charlotte. Then I go first.”

“Be careful on the road, Lucas,” I said with a smile.

Lucas smiled back and approached me. Then, he quickly kissed my forehead and finally left me and Ava.

“Basic slave love,” his Ava.

“We must not ignore the power of love. Love can make people do anything that is unacceptable to reason. Both good actions ... and evil ones,” I told Ava.

Ava folded both her hands. “I don't understand such a thing. And I'll never be able to understand.”

“What because of the blessing received by you?”

“How, yes .... This very boring life of mine is a blessing given by the Goddess of Virtue.” Ava looks bright. “Love is something I will not have .., and it includes worldly lust. I had it at first, but now it's not.”

“Why?” many confused.

“I don't want to discuss it more deeply. You better get some sleep. Getting married and taking the throne within a day must be exhausting, right? Isaac has prepared a room for you,” Ava said.

Right, too. I shouldn't have dug into Ava's past. We are not close anyway. Despite being in the same camp, it remains .. we are not people who are in the same territory. Ava hates the North, and I'm a man from the North.

To get along with Ava, it may take a long time. Or not at all.

“Good.” I stood together with Ava; and came out of the waiting room of the Magic Union Tower.

When he came out, Isaac was already waiting outside. Ava went back to her private room, and I was escorted by Isaac to the room I was going to sleep in. The room was the one I used when I settled in the tower first. Everything hasn't changed and I'm nostalgic.

“If you need anything, please just ring the bell on the nightstand,” Isaac said.

“Good. Thank you, Isaac.”

Isaac finally resigned. Now ..., I'm totally alone. I opened the closet in my room and found a pajama to wear. I put on the pajamas and went up to the bed.

The bed is very comfortable. More comfortable than any bed. I know there's magic Ava gave me so I can get better at sleep. I'm grateful for that.
