“What do you want from me, Queen?” jack asked, still reluctant to raise his head. “I don't know anything.”
I smile. “Really? I know everything, Jack. Not that I will judge you, I just want to know what you saw.”
“I didn't see anything, Queen,” said Jack, still insisting on shutting up and avoiding eye contact with me.
“You like your own sister, right?”
Jack raised his head. Looks surprised. “Ratu ..., what did the Queen ask just now?”
“From the beginning I already knew that you liked Rose Hindley. You're secretly harboring more feelings for him.” Now, I avoided Jack's gaze myself. He wanted to make sure I was honest or not. “It's a shame that you have to accept the fact that Rose Hindley prefers the Emperor over you who just like him without saying that.”
He just kept quiet.
“I just said if I wouldn't judge you. So, if you still don't want to open your mouth, maybe Rose Hindley will suffer more than you see now,”. “Are you willing to let Rose Hindley suffer more because you still choose to be quiet?”
Jack looked back. “I just try to be in a safe position,” said Jack, after a long pause. “If I fight them, my own life will be threatened.”
“They?”
“Concubine Sienna and also Emperor,” replied Jack. “I defend my life by following all their orders.”
I smile. “And all that you did for Rose Hindley, right?”
At first Jack was reluctant to answer my question, but it seemed like he was rethinking everything I could do to Rose Hindley. With a heavy heart, Jack nodded as a sign to answer my question.
“On the events of that time ..., I only saw if the Queen ... uhm .. thrust the sword of Knight Franklin into the Emperor's body,” Jack said, confessing. “More, I don't know anything. I swear by the Hindley family and also the Goddess of Virtue.”
“There is no need to carry around the Goddess in our current conversation,” I said flatly. “I just want to know what you saw there. Oh yes, I also want to make sure if you want to keep your mouth shut or not about this important thing.”
Jack hurriedly stood up and kowtowed under my feet. He did not raise his face at all and remained silent for quite a while. I was surprised by it.
“What are you doing?” many wonder.
“Ratu .., I swear I will never divulge the incident I saw to anyone. The queen can behead me if I break it,” said Jack, still in a prostrate position.
“You said it yourself. In the future, if you really break your vows, you will be beheaded in front of your own family. Including in front of Rose Hindley,”, I said calmly. “Build. I don't want you to bow down like that. Moreover, you are the Emperor's right-hand man.”
Jack finally stood up, and that's when Jack suddenly pushed me until I fell backwards. He stabbed me and pulled out a knife from under his body. Ah, he was going to kill me, huh? With such conditions, Jack is a determined person.
Did he take revenge on me for making Rose Hindley go crazy? Hm, most likely it is. So, everything we talked about just now was just nonsense.
Just wasting my time.
“Stop acting stupid, Jack. With you acting this way, you're just putting your life in danger,” I said casually. “You know if I'm not a random person.”
Jack clucked in annoyance. “Rose Hindley just loves the wrong person! Why does the Queen have the heart to make her like that even while she is pregnant?!”
Outraged by my words, Jack immediately intended to stab me with a knife in his hand, but this poor Jack was instead kicked by someone coming from Jack's front. The guy's kick made Jack fall backwards. I was free of her, immediately stood back up and fixed my dress.
That familiar black robe let me know that the guy who kicked Jack was Cain. Now Jack is helpless because Cain's sword has Cain stuck to Jack's neck. If it moves just a little, I can tell if Cain won't hesitate to slash Jack's neck.
The aura of wanting to kill Cain's, felt extremely suffocating.
“Why can you be here?” I asked Cain. “Did my father tell you to watch me get inside the palace?”
Cain was silent. His flat face did not budge in the least. I finally turned my eyes to the already cornered Jack.
“You did the wrong thing,” I told Jack. “You won't be able to get away with this problem.”
“Do the Queen think ... The Queen will escape also from the heinous thing that the Queen did?” Jack looked at me in a defiant manner. “Sisi Vanhoiren did not know that his Queen herself was the one who killed the Emperor. Very mean. Very misleading indeed.”
“Yes, I'm not a saint. You are free to comment anything. But, don't you ever bother me because I'm being nice to you.” I glanced at Cain and walked away from the two of them to call out to Matilda.
Matilda was still where she stood. He seemed to already know that Cain was watching me outside. So even though there was a loud noise because of Jack's actions earlier, Matilda did not worry about it. Yeah, I don't really care about that either.
“Is everything okay, Queen?” ask Matilda.
“Call the palace warriors here right now,” my orders are fast.
Matilda was confused. “If I may know, what happened outside, Queen?”
“You'll know soon. Just follow what I say,” I answer again.
“Ah, fine, Queen. Please wait a moment,” Matilda said as she went to summon the palace warriors.
While waiting for Matilda and the soldier I asked for, I returned again out of the palace.
But Cain is no more. Jack is tied to his hands and feet. It seemed that Cain did not want his existence to be seen by many people. I admit that Cain is a mysterious man.
Shortly after, Matilda came to me with two soldiers. They were all shocked to see Jack being tied up and left for granted.
“Queen, what happened here?” ask Matilda. “Did Jack do something?”
“True.” I'm insinuating. “Bring him into jail. I'll take care of it later. Make him faint if he wakes up later.”
“Good, Queen!” the two soldiers shouted simultaneously. When he was taken, Jack was unconscious.
Good then. I still have a chance to shut Jack up.
