The Second Life's
LXIV - News of Grief

As I thought, I fell asleep in the car. It took a long time for the coachman to wake me. He must have tried so hard not to make me uncomfortable. I appreciate that effort.

There were already many high-class nobles visiting the Imperial Palace. Without further ado, I went straight into the Palace to see Father Idris as quickly as possible. Strange murmurs filled my heart. My feelings are not good.

Why did this day of misfortune come to me mercilessly?

My steps stopped in front of a wide open door. Outside stood more people. One of them is the Grand Duchess and also Marquess Franklin. They bowed to me and opened the way for me.

In the room of Father Idris, there is Mother and also Idris sitting next to the bed of Father. I was glued for a while, until I finally approached beside Idris. He glanced at me for a moment, then focused on Ayahanda. She was crying just like my mom.

“His Head is My Husband!” exclaim Mother while holding the hand of Ayahanda. He looked beaten, but his exclamation sounded contrived. I was confused about him.

Especially Idris' attitude. Obviously he knew the cause of his own father's death, but he instead .. behaved as he does now.

It was as if Emperor XIX had indeed died of an illness.

Huh! How unfortunate this family is. And how cunning the successor to this family is. I'm even at a loss for words against Idris. If it were not for the request of the Goddess of Virtue, I would never want to and would marry her again. Am I stupid? Am I too innocent to be stuck in the same situation?

Of course not.

“Sorry, Ayahanda .... I can't take good care of you as long as Daddy lives,” Idris murmured.

“Idris, Son .... You must toughen up!” The queen looked at Idris, but ignored my presence. I don't give a shit. “Do not remove your weak side.”

“We are devastated by this news. He is a very good and wise Emperor, we have lost his figure,” said the Grand Duke, condolences.

“Thank you, Grand Duke,” said the Queen without looking at her. “I hope my Husband can rest in peace.”

After the Grand Duke, follow the nobles again to offer condolences to the Queen. They showed sad and grim faces. However, on the sidelines of the visits of the nobles, I could see the presence of Rose— in the same dress she wore when coming to the Queen's Palace. The look we met. Hurry up turn the other way and cough small.

Idris turned to me and rubbed my back. Shortly after, he pulled me into his arms. I can feel Idris' whisper that pisses me off half to death.

Whatever happens, don't ever talk about what you said to me last time.

It's our secret.

So said. Never mind, I'll keep it to myself while I plan the overthrow of the Vanhoiren Empire.

Days pass. I'm the one who took care of Idris' father's funeral with Jack. Idris' mother was busy crying beside her husband's coffin along with Idris. I used to take care of this, too.

Jack was very helpful .., and the job I wanted to achieve was well done. The official funeral of Emperor XIX was held the next day at noon. Idris' mother collapsed while at the funeral.

The soldiers immediately brought him back to the Imperial Palace. The funeral ended after Emperor XIX had been rested. I returned to the Queen's Palace without Idris as there were still many things to do, while Idris rushed after his mother to the Imperial Palace.

“Queen?”

I looked at the origin of the voice. It turns out Chloe's coming. I'm not aware of that. “What's up, Chloe?”

“Does the Queen want to eat anything? I am worried about the Queen's health because the Queen's face is very pale.”

“I was too busy to eat while in the Imperial Palace. Hearing you say that .., I really wanted to eat something,” I told Chloe.

“Thank God if the Queen wants to eat. Is there a menu that the Queen wants?”

“Anything. I just want a filling meal,” I replied kalem.

Chloe nodded and left me to make some food for me. I stayed in the room while checking the letter from the Imperial officer. This was Idris' job. But for this time alone, and also for Emperor XIX, I am willing to replace Idris. Counting as a last salute to someone who's been nice to me.

What was Ava thinking, anyway?

“Finally the old man died too.” That heartless speech came out from the tiny mouth of a blessed woman. I was amazed by Ava's bodo attitude. “What are you doing here? Didn't cry for his death also at the palace?”

“I'm busy taking care of his administration as soon as possible. It is also not good to procrastinate something until it drags on,” I replied indifferently.

Ava was sitting next to me. “Si j*lang is also there?”

“Of course.” I didn't look at him. “Then, why are you here with such a splashy makeup?”

Ava chuckles. “To show empathy and sadness for the death of the old man. Is it unclear?”

“You think you just want to show off new clothes.”

“Why do you know that?”

“Feeling.”

“See me,” Ava's orders.

I can just follow and see it. Ava stood up and turned around in front of me to show off her new dress. For the second time, his knee hit the elbow of the table. He roared in pain while cursing all kinds of umpatan—and to avoid discomfort, a very rude swearing was censored only.

“B*job! *delay! Why is this table here, anyway?!” shout Ava. He then kicked the innocent table so it floated against the wall of the room.

“Please calm yourself, the people in this palace can hear your voice and be provoked,” I said reminded.

“No need to worry, before you came home earlier I had covered your room with magic,” explained Ava. The wound on his left knee he healed with healing magic. What is needed must be very large. “After this, what do you want?”

I thought for a moment. “Maybe return to the Imperial Palace and give the finished work on the right hand of Idris.”

“Then I want to clean the Queen's Palace while you're gone,” Ava said. “I just wanted to tell you this so you know.”

“I'm very helped.”

Cleks!

Chloe came without knocking on the door. His hands were full of food. He must have opened the door with his elbow. I turned towards Ava, she had already disappeared along with the table that had returned to its original state.

“Sorry for not knocking, Queen.”

I smile. “What's wrong, Chloe.” I put the paper I was holding onto the table, then ate the food Chloe had prepared.
