The Supreme Court judge was seen reading a paper on his high table. He sighed then looked at the entire audience in the courtroom.
Idris had no intention of taking his hand off me. I'm very uncomfortable with the sweet treatment. It feels very burdened and feels disgusting.
More importantly, I am more interested in the final decision of the Supreme Court Justice regarding this trial. When I saw the Marchioness Franklin, her face implied a restless expression. It seemed like he already knew if he would lose in the trial he had submitted himself. I'm sure Idris has convinced the Chief Justice.
“Alright, the trial this time we will continue again,” said Judge I.
“From the statements that have been stated by the prosecution, witnesses, and defense, we the High Court took several decisions that can be used as reference material for the final result,” said the Supreme Court Justice. “And from those results, we decided—”
Rose suddenly stood up and raised her hand. “Great Judge!” rosa is confident. “I request permission to talk.”
I don't know what exactly Rose meant. But Idris doesn't seem surprised by that. Maybe they've worked together to do something without my knowledge. There's not a single clue.
“Alright, please.” The Supreme Court gave Rose permission to speak.
“Because this concerns future Queen candidates, what if we vote to decide the final result? This meeting was attended by various groups. From the ruler of the Vanhoiren Empire, upper class nobles, ordinary nobles, and even some representatives of the people of Vanhoiren,” Rose's proposal. “If the way is like that, we can know the opinion of all circles about future Queen candidates.”
Is this the Rose I know? It felt like Rose's attitude was different from what she used to be. It could be that Rose and Idris were busy talking about this at lunch and Idris deliberately let the talking Rose to raise Rose's value in the eyes of the crowd.
The Supreme Court judge and two of her accompanying judges whispered to each other to express their opinions about Rose's proposal. The Supreme Court even had to approach the Emperor and speak privately with him. As soon as everyone nodded, the Supreme Court Judge looked at Rose.
“Good. You can sit back, Miss,” said the Chief Justice. Rose sat down immediately. “Does the Prosecutor and the Defender have no problem with Miss's proposal?”
“Absolutely not,” replied Idris.
“Our side also accept the thing. The proposal could wake someone up to stay where he deserves to be,”, said Marchioness Franklin, accompanied by insinuations for me.
“Good. Then ..., we will prepare two red and blue colored papers. The blue one is to support the Defenders statement, while the red one is to support the Prosecutor's statement. Choose one, then enter it into the ballot box that will be run in rotation,” explained Judge II.
One of the High Court officers who stood guard inside the courtroom went straight out to prepare for the matters that Judge II had mentioned. We waited for about fifteen minutes until the officer returned with a colleague who was carrying a black voice box and a small amount of blue and red paper.
We distributed the paper in turns. And that takes a long time. After all the papers were split evenly, the ballot box was run by the officers. Everyone began to fill their choices in the box.
“Because everyone has given the vote, we will calculate it directly here,” said the Supreme Court Justice.
The Supreme Court then gave the code to the High Court officers and they again came out and returned with stationery, tables, and chairs.
“We represent the good name the High Court will do and say honestly on behalf of the Goddess of Virtue and ruler of the Vanhoiren Empire,” said one of the officers.
Then .., they started counting. The other checked the ballot box, the other recorded the results of both camps. It didn't take long to get this done. The final result was given to the Chief Justice to be announced to us. Both officers withdrew from the courtroom.
“From the vote results that have been calculated by High Court officers, the superior camp and automatically win is .. camp Defenders,” said the Supreme Court Justice.
The Marchioness Franklin. “A-What?! The judge must be mistaken! B-How can you?!” hysterical shouting.
The whole room became rowdy. Especially for the Marchioness Franklin. The results made them disappointed. The Chief Judge knocked back on his hammer until everything was silent. I glanced at the Emperor and Queen who were aware of it. They are currently in a neutral position. They didn't even vote for anyone at the time of voting.
“Both the result of the vote or through our decision, the Marchioness Franklin still can not win,” explained the Supreme Court Justice. “Therefore, Marchioness Franklin was already entangled in a defamation case and also deliberately made a split among fellow royals. The punishment that Marchioness Franklin could get was of course severe. But, given the Franklin family's merits to the Vanhoiren Empire, we decided to listen to the response of the Imperial ruler.”
I saw the Emperor was about to stand up, but was taken prisoner by the Queen. I've guessed. The Queen must have been protecting the Marchioness Franklin because they were on the same ship. The Queen finally stood up and replaced the talking Emperor.
“That Marchioness Franklin did was a natural thing for a woman. We are classified as people who are considerate according to feelings. It was clear from the beginning that this Empire stood, which became the milestone of the rulers was a powerful Queen and from a distinguished family. It is the ruling ones who have many opportunities to move everything,” said Ratu.
“Therefore, future milestone candidates who have a background that is far from expected make us worried. If the Supreme Court deigns, punish the Marchioness Franklin by limiting her movements for a long time,” continued the Queen.
The Supreme Court nodded in understanding and the Queen sat down.
“Since the ruler of the Vanhoiren Empire has spoken like that, we on the side of the High Court will gladly accept it,”. “As of today, Marchioness Gracie Nicholson Franklin will be sentenced for a full year. The Marchioness must remain in her residence and is forbidden to participate in any outside activities. If violated, Marchioness will be fined as much as a thousand gold coins.”
Nah! Nah! Nah!
The Supreme Court knocked his hammer three times. The sentence ends today's trial. The Queen managed to protect the Marchioness Franklin, while I managed to maintain my position as the future Queen.
