The Continent of Europe
Chapter 68's

Brak!!

By the time the Adler family finished their conversation, both James and Floyd were shocked when the front door of their living room opened. From out there, a girl walked in with a panicked face. He shouted James' name many times, speeding up his pace once he found the man he was looking for.

"James!" He screamed with rage as he stopped.

James didn't know what to react to when he saw three men coming in right after the girl. The three men were also the same as him, both panicked-faced yet calmer.

Their sudden arrival made the host become excited, confusion must pay attention to who first. Then James stood up from his seat and walked over to the girl who a few seconds ago called his name.

"What are you doing here?" James asked.

He noticed the girl who was bending her body forward. Both hands above the knees and mouth catch your breath. Breathe in and out quickly, just like a person who is out of breath after running.

"Did you see Rosaline? He suddenly disappeared!"

James' face instantly darkened and his jaw gaping. He subconsciously pulled the shoulder of the girl in front of him and gripped her.

"You've gota be kidding me, Kaylie! He promised me to let him go if I followed his request!"

All eyes immediately turned toward the heir of the Adler family, even the atmosphere in the entire room changed. From the panic to silence. Only the irregular sound of James' breathing was heard.

A second later James could hear the clattering of feet running towards him. In a flash like lightning, the collar used by James lifted up. The bluish-gray Netra James looked in horror at the face of the man in front of him.

"What do you mean!" He yelled.

Floyd, who saw his son being treated like that, went on a blackboard. His feet stomped running towards them only to push the body of the male bongsor that gripped his son to fall to the floor.

"Did your family never teach you manners, Torres?"

With his typical pejorative look, Floyd looked at the man below him in wrath. He bent his body to align with the man and then said again.

"Have you taken care of those two Vreaa twins for ten years, Torres?" Floyd asked. Highlight his eyes were still sharp, watching the man he summoned as Torres in front of him.

The man grieves. Inexplicably hearing Floyd call him by his surname pissed him off. Then he pushed Floyd's body until the long blonde fell on the floor and stood up.

"Don't call me, Torres. Torres is too honorable to be summoned by someone like you!"

Floyd chuckles. "Yes whatever, a former mobster who was tricked into jail by his own confidants. Very honorable." His hands clapped as if he was enjoying a strange scenario in his house.

Seeing his friend who was about to ride black, the man who was standing near the sofa of the house then ran and stretched his hands to the chest of his friend. Trying to stop the man from looking for trouble. Because their main purpose here is not that but Rosaline!

"Julian! We don't have time for this! Rosie's more important now!"

The man called Julian just rolled his eyes lazily and looked at the friend in annoyance. Daniel. The man glared seriously at Julian, as if from his eyes shot that he would not hesitate to sew Julian's mouth if he did not stop talking.

"Daniel's right. Rosie's more important now."

James's eyes clashed with those of men who were his age. Reagan, thought. The twin. He looked at James with calmness but implied a panic in it.

"Do you know where my sister is?

Lately he's been with you."

His voice sounded bitter, but James knew there was an emphasis on his intonation. The blonde man walked over to Reagan just to say, "I know. I know where he is."

...•—— ✿ ——•...

James was once told by Clark where he kept Rosaline. So here they are now. Standing in front of a house on the edge of the city, seedy and rickety, which will not make outsiders interested to put attention to him even a little.

"You're sure Rosie's here?" Julian shouting.

James nodded steadily. "Clark sent me this home address. I'm sure he's here."

The six people walked in

James led the way. Inside there, a sinister atmosphere was immediately welcomed. Dust particles flew in the air, making anyone who lingered there would be asphyxiated.

"You're sure he's here?" Julian asked again, still not believing the rickety house they just entered.

"What if Rosie's not here anymore? You know, that woman could have just taken Rosaline to a different place. Since you already know this house address."

James's steps stopped. His head slowly turned only to look at Kaylie, then at Julian, and Reagan. Right too, he thought. Why was that thought unthinkable to her when she announced her marriage to Clark?

Without further ado, James sped up his footsteps towards the second floor after being content to search for Rosaline's whereabouts downstairs. The creaking of the steps he was riding brutally was a testament to the panic within him.

Brak!

The only room there is. Inside there were only chairs and rope lying on the floor. With an irregular rhythm of breathing James entered the room and looked around.

"This is the last room, James. That girl isn't here."

James turned towards the firm voice of his father that was heard from the end of the room. The same long blonde-haired man frowned while leaning against his back wall with his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Then we have to find him!" James exclaimed and was given a nod by everyone except Floyd.

"How is it? It's Jenkins, James! Even ordinary people like them know the character of the Jenkins family" Floyd replied, pointing to Julian and Daniel.

"What do you mean layman, huh? I'm the head gangster!" Julian's anger didn't take it.

Daniel who was standing in the middle of the two of them could only roll his eyeballs lazily. "Jameses. Some time ago you said you were following that woman's request. He's gonna let Rosaline go, right? What request?"

James looked at his father and turned. "He asked me to marry him."

"If you don't want to obey him?" Floyd says.

"He'll hurt Rosaline and expose our family's dark secrets."

Everyone in the room was silent. They addressed their attention to Floyd, as if from his gaze wondering what dark secret James meant.

"Yes, that's it."

This time anyone who heard it would not believe that the phrase had ever come out of the mouth of a golden money man.

"If Jenkins threatens to expose our family's secrets, then we'll get back at them, too. Maybe it's time to expose the secrets of the golden money to the media."

"The dark secret known to the Vreaa family."
