The Continent of Europe
Chapter 46's

...CHAPTRE 46...

...VICIOUS CIRCLE'S...

"Oh... Where's Oliver?"

James looked up only to find Rosaline standing in front of the entrance. In the girl's grasp were two packaged breads as well as bottled drinks. He walked in and sat down at Oliver's place.

"What she's talking" she flinched, "ah if you don't want to tell me it's okay. Really, I'm fine. That's your privacy."

The brunette-haired girl instantly panicked herself when she saw that pair of blonde man's gray eyes were looking at her intensely. That seemed to say, 'Dare to ask. Say good bye to the world'.

Rosaline occasionally glanced at the man in silence as her hand tried to open the bread packet. I don't know why the bread packet immediately became difficult to open. Rosaline's hands were shaking.

"Damn it, why is this so hard?" His grunt.

His trembling hands were now replaced by a feeling of tension all over his body when the blond man in front of him suddenly stood up and walked towards him. Rosaline flinched as the burly fingers forcefully grabbed her bread and pop! The bread was opened easily.

Hell, he thought.

His jaw clenched while his lips formed an awkward smile. He grabbed the bread that the man offered with trembling hands and ate it after saying thank you. The taste of the chocolate bread changed.

"U-uhm you want to?"

Awkwardly, Rosaline offered the rest of the bread she had bought to the man. Yep. Although Rosaline did not expect James to take her bread, at least she had other ways of thanking him. The man had not eaten anything this afternoon.

Emeralds meet gray. I don't know how long their eyes haven't been linked. James looked at her for a long time before throwing his gaze at the roth in Rosaline's hands and picking it up.

"Thank you" he said.

Rosaline nodded. Still in disbelief that James took the bread.

The two men ate quietly that afternoon. Rosaline sat on the sofa while James sat down in front of her. For a moment the two of them seemed to be immersed in each other's thoughts.

"You want to know what Oliver said?"

Rosaline hesitates. He looked at the man with a frowning forehead, as if from his expression saying that the man did not need to tell him about Oliver's words earlier. It was very privacy for him.

"No. You don't need"

"My dad and Clark know about us."

Rosaline blinked her eyes a few times, digesting her words just now. I don't know why hearing James' words was so taboo. It was as if the two of them had just been caught cheating by a male family.

"Don't say that. It sounds like we have an affair, you know," The protest didn't take.

James could only chuckle in response to Rosaline's words. He leaned over, grinning, closing the distance between the two of them so that Rosaline's face was only a few inches away from him.

"Actually I'm not referring this matter to infidelity. Only your mind is pointing in that direction. Looks like you really want to date me huh, Smith?"

"Like hell I want it. I don't want to deal with your family, let alone with your fans and Clark. I still want to live quietly."

James grinned. "Well, once you get in the golden money circle, you'll never get out."

"Pfft— why does your description of the golden money sound like a vicious circle, huh?" Rather than praise, his tone sounded more mocking.

Rather than replying to Rosaline, James would rather shrug his shoulders and walk towards the exit. "Don't worry, I'll handle this. I'll make sure they won't bother you after this."

That way, the door closed and the figure of James Orion Adler disappeared from behind.

...•—— ✿ ——•...

That night, James came home quite late. He did not go straight home where his parents were waiting, but like a madman he was driving around London at an unnatural speed.

His car is full of classical music that is suitable to calm his mind for a moment. Since then, his phone has continued to vibrate. Always put the father's name on the screen.

James grunting. He stopped his car on the side of the road somewhere, maybe on the border of London and other cities? I don't know. The important thing is that he can stay away from problems even if only for a moment.

From the car's dashboard drawer, he took out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. His hand pulled one cigarette butt and let it sit in his mouth.

A small flash of fire burns the wick when the lighter is turned on. James sucked it up and blew the smoke out the window.

He looked towards his phone that was still shaking. This time, the name of the mother was revealed. But just as he did with his father's phone call, James ignored it as well.

He leaned his head against the wheel of the car, still occasionally smoking cigarettes and exhaling smoke. From earlier his head hurt from dizziness thinking about what would happen when he came home later. Or when he had to deal with Clark.

Because to be honest. Their relationship is starting to look unhealthy. They often fought over small matters and not to mention the ever-expanding flames of jealousy from Clark. It's all sickening to want James to mean it.

"demon circle. It's funny."

His murmur may not be heard by others, but for some reason now James can hear the voice of Rosaline who calls the golden money is a vicious circle. Funny indeed. The trap is almost perfect.

For James, the golden money was a shackle. It's like a vicious cycle that binds and hides a million secrets from society and James can't get out of there. Especially to escape.

Indeed, sometimes regret always appears in his mind because it was born in a rich family, especially from a member of the golden money. But, who was he to have the right to govern the natural destiny that had been written for him? He is just an ordinary man, not a God who has everything.

But there is no harm in hoping, right? That's not a sin. If God gives you a chance, you want to feel like you are an ordinary person. Without a camera lurking. He also wants privacy and a warm family like Rosaline.

Be honest. He was jealous of the girl. Everything she wanted, the girl got it. Isn't that unfair? He should have had it too.

James grimaced as the hot cigarette ash hit his hand. He only realized that he had been daydreaming since then and allowed the fire in his cigarette to continue to move creating painful hot ash.

He threw his body back, leaning between the door and the back of the chair. His head turned out the window, looking at the night sky where the full moon was shining brightly among the stars.

"I think it's time I went home. He is going to beat me if I keep running away like this and mom won't be able to help me anymore."

The car engine is turned on. At normal speed James returned to his magnificent mansion that resembled a palace. Coming home with a problem he doesn't know how to solve.
