...CHAPTRE 52...
...THE PATHETIC MAN'S...
"So, I heard you and James went to the bar and how dare you go without me?"
Oliver grinned as he turned his head only to see Rosaline tensed in shock. The girl's eyes slowly widened, looking in another direction except her. Seeing that he looked nervous, Oliver quickly added.
"How does it feel? Going to a bar? I'm guessing it's the first time you've been there, let alone with James."
Slowly, Rosaline nodded with red cheeks. "Did Adler tell you everything?"
Without any further explanation from the girl, Oliver already understood. He nodded with a small humming sound that made him look even more confident in what he believed. Highlight his gentle eyes occasionally glanced towards the lowered Rosaline.
"I swear I won't tell anyone about it" he said in a panic.
"Yes, you have to. If you do that, you'll tear his heart apart. Unlike his arrogant face, James' heart was soft and easily broken. Take note of that, Rosie."
"I know that. I found out when we went to Edinburgh. Actually it was a coincidence, Jam—I mean Adler accidentally mentioned about his family, but after that his mood changed. He instantly got angry, blaming me, as if I was the one who forced him to say it."
Oliver grins. "I think I heard you almost say James, not Adler," he chuckled.
Rosaline smiled bitterly. "Well, he told me to call him that when he was drunk at the bar that day. So I called him James, but only for a while."
"Why don't you call him that every day? Maybe with a little change you made it could make your relationship with her better?"
The bitter smile on Rosaline's face began to fade. Replaced with a surprised expression. "No. I told you it was only temporary. You know, I just used it so he stopped drinking that time."
A flash of panic in the girl's emerald eyes made Oliver smile. Trust me, a warm smile, not a smirk or sneer. Slowly, he reduced the speed of his car, normally, only to look around with soft eyes.
"You know, Rosie, James is a tough guy. Stubborn, arrogant, and sometimes so annoying that it makes us want to punch him in the face.
"But deep down is goodness. Unlike the other golden money, James is the best person I've ever known. He's kind, smart, and heartbroken."
This time Rosaline looked up, only turning her gaze towards Oliver who was now smiling bitterly.
"With his family situation, his childhood was not very good. The camera follows her wherever she goes even when she is a baby. The rules of the family uphold the caste in the world and not to mention his father who was very strict to him. Believe me, if you knew everything you'd love that man."
Well, Rosaline did. He's aware of the camera that follows James everywhere he goes. Fortunately, when they went to the bar that day, there were no cameras following them.
Relieved actually, especially when James told me about his family. That way there will be no bad news that can damage the image of the Adler family.
"But, she's lucky to have a mother like Minerva. She's a good woman. A loving mother who is always there for her son whenever he needs her. I'm sure the kindness James has is a derivative of his mother."
"Is James afraid of his father?" Ask Rosaline. No longer concerned with the use of the first name he made for James.
"Very. He's rude, evil, and crazy. James was so lucky that no behavior from his father had decreased on him. Except for one thing, physical. Blonde hair and gray eyes. They were both very similar, like a twin that could only be distinguished by the wrinkles on the face."
"Is their relationship good? I mean he and his dad?"
Oliver shook his head. "They always fight. His father and he always had different thoughts. Take James and Clark's relationship. Did you know they were engaged? I don't think so," she chuckled.
"Trust me, Rosaline, James doesn't want anything to do with Jenkins or any wealthy family. He just wants to be a normal kid, like us. Without having to think about the ethics and media that always follow it.
"He's lonely Rosie. With his title, he found it difficult to find the meaning of a true friend. All those who approach him with the lure of being friends are just stupid images who want to make the most of the Adler family's wealth.
"He is pathetic."

After his conversation with Oliver, Rosaline's mind was always filled with James. Thinking of how lonely the man was compared to her. Now he understood what the blond man said when they went to the bar.
About the envy she experienced towards Rosaline. Envy towards the family and friends she has, especially towards the free life Rosaline lives while her breath is still blowing. Without thinking about the mass media.
But what will James react to when he finds out that his father and mother are gone? Especially if he knows the true identity of the person who had been living with Rosaline and Reagan, even taking care of them like his own son was an inmate?
Will James laugh at her? Will he still want the life he has? Without parents and living with an inmate? Hahaha, I don't know. Everything turns funny when you think about it.
Rosaline slumped onto the sofa, sighing in relief while tightly holding the book of Shakespeare's novels on her chest. He looked straight at the door, waiting for the blond man who had been pestering his head all night to get inside.
"Where is that guy?" Rosaline grumbled, looking at the clock on her phone which had already shown at twelve noon, "it's lunch time!"
Today Rosaline had plans to take the man to lunch with her to the cafeteria. He wants to move first. Maybe chatting lightly there or rather discuss the matter of his confession at the bar at that time.
Nah. Hope the plan works. Because to be honest, he can't stand their current situation. James always looked at her. The pair of gray eyes he had were always watching him intensely.
Of course, it's a lie that Rosaline doesn't realize every time she keeps glancing at him. He realized it and it was so uncomfortable!
Clap up!
Rosaline looked up, smiling happily as she saw the blond man she was waiting for finally entering. James looked at him with furrowed brows, as if from his expression he was asking what was going on.
"Have you had lunch, James?"
James who heard his first name coming out of Rosaline's mouth was so easily stunned. He was silent in the place where he stood like a statue. Looking at Rosaline in disbelief.
"Well, if not. Lunch with me."
The blonde guy glared.
"This is not a question, James, but an order."
