...CHAPTRE 16...
...KAYLIE...
Rosaline lowered her head, looked at the thick book nanar that was lying near Clark's feet, then she gasped. Just realized that he was close to Clark and the woman who had just thrown him with the book.
He turned around, shriveling in surprise when he found James who had been with him now disappeared. He circulated his gaze, looking for that blond male figure among the crowd in the corridor nearby. But he did not find the blonde.
Rosaline let out a long sigh after being satisfied looking for her whereabouts. How wide he circulated his gaze just to look for the man. James Orion Adler showed no nose anywhere.
He looked towards Asher who was now standing. The girl in conversation constrained her body to stick with the corridor wall behind her while occasionally wiping away the tears that still flowed from her eyes.
Rosaline again took a breath. I don't know how many times he breathed today. What is clear is that the sun has not risen to the top perfectly has happened a lot.
Well now. How did he handle this?
He focused his attention on Clark and the woman who had no idea what her name was looking at each other. Throwing threatening and murderous gazes at each other, making anyone who was there not dare to interrupt them.
"Who are you, asshole?" Clark says. He scrunched his nose disliking, raised his index finger and pressed the woman's chest to get away from him.
The woman chuckled. He wagged the material of his clothes that had just been touched by Clark and put on an expression of disgust, making Clark unwilling to grow angry with his behavior.
"You ask who I am? Introduce, I'm a candidate for British prime minister" he replied casually.
The woman stretched out her hand offering a handshake while sneering cunningly.
It almost made Rosaline believe that she was actually Clark's clone or that maybe fresh blood was flowing straight from her twin nose. Looking at the form of the sneaky grin that the woman was drawing on her face was very similar to Clark.
Clark grunting. The sound of his tongue was heard as he threw the woman's hand out of her sight.
"I didn't know you were stupid and deaf? When I asked who you were, I asked your name!" Clark exclaimed, slightly stepping his feet closer towards the woman.
"Kaylie's. My parents call me Kaylie!" The answer.
She slipped a few strands of her long black hair into her ears and made Rosaline realize, the woman was the one who gave her a seat on the bus and library that time.
That chick. Kaylie's.
"Kaylie? I've never heard your name."
"Well I know why you never heard of my name, for I am like the lowly men you mentioned, O noble the golden money."
Rosaline knows. From the sentence just now, the woman named Kaylie was not adoring him but was mocking Clark blatantly. Just look at the look of dislike Clark put on his face after Kaylie said that.
He clearly felt insulted.
"If you know who I am and what my title is, why'd you throw me in this book?" Clark kicked the book which a few minutes ago landed on his head, sending it bouncing a few feet.
"It wasn't me who threw you, it was my hand" he replied innocently.
"And your stupid brain sends a signal to the motor nerves to get you to do it. And voila, you threw me this fucking book."
"Well, my hands are sore because I've been carrying them."
"Just because your hands are achy doesn't mean you can throw me recklessly with this book, you little piece of— ugh!"
Kaylie chuckled slightly and shrugged her shoulders indifferently. The grin on his face slowly disappeared and was replaced by a slick smile as his head moved to and fro.
He walked up to Clark, making everyone there wonder what she would do next.
Clark, everyone there could hide the shock on their faces. Even Clark who was running it himself could not express himself but be surprised.
"And that goes for you too, damn it! Just because your degree is higher than anyone here, doesn't mean you can recklessly underestimate others and call them all lowly people."
"You're living a luxurious life like this because of your parents' possessions, so don't be so arrogant. Just wait for the karma to take down your life and you're gonna cry like a coward."
THE DUAK!
One punch slid across Kaylie's face.
"So how you talk, shit."
Clark. With a flat face and clenched hands hit him right in the face. He shot a sharp glare towards Kaylie who was touching the corner of her lips where fresh blood was pouring out of it.
No moans and whistles of pain came out of the woman's mouth. He didn't feel pain at all like the rest of the crowd, as if Clark's punch just now was just a passing wind to him.
Kaylie's. He grins. He laughed like a bad person as his eyes were covered by his hands. He looked towards Clark through the small gap he made between his fingers.
And as fast as lightning. Even Rosaline herself could not realize that Kaylie's hand had returned the blow and made Clark fall backwards.
"Baji—"
THE DUAK!
Clark's curse has not been completed, Kaylie, the woman has launched a free kick to her face making fresh blood flow directly from Clark's nose.
"What's? You wanna fight, huh? Go on, then. I'll make your proud face battered so that everyone knows how ugly the face of a child of the golden money."
...•—— ✿ ——•...
Their quarrels were fierce, even the crowd that dominated the corridor there did not dare to break them down at all. They were too scared to interrupt.
Finally, the ridiculous quarrel stopped when
Rosaline and Asher break up. Asher pulls Kaylie away from there and Rosaline takes Clark to the infirmary.
"Take me off Rosaline! I'm not satisfied with beating that woman!" Exclaims. He thrashed at Rosaline's grip, making the girl's distraught pull him.
"Stop, Clark. You see your condition now. Nosebleed blood comes out of your nose, your lips are torn, and your eyes are blue. Like it or not we're in the health room now, Mrs. Harris will treat your wounds!"
In the infirmary, Rosaline stood next to Clark who was grimacing in pain as the red medicine touched the surface of her torn lips. He occasionally grumbled, swearing at the woman named Kaylie on the sidelines of his treatment.
Rosaline glanced towards the entrance of the infirmary when the door opened and created a noise. Over there. James stood up and walked towards them.
"James," Spoiled Clark. He crept back into James' hands, hugging the blond man tightly. His mouth kept on twitching about the incident that had happened to him in the corridor earlier.
"We're the golden money. Just answer him the way we used to."
"Yes. Sure oes. I'll make sure he suffers" Clark replied.
Rosalyn. The one that had been around the two of them tried as hard as possible to keep his expression flat, even though his heart was pounding worried now.
The mist of his head thought about the fate that would befall the woman named Kaylie in the future.
She's afraid. Fear of something happening to the woman that might make her regret later if she does not warn him.
Looks like Rosaline should tell the woman to be careful from now on.
