...CHAPTRE 18...
...THE LOSS OF KAYLIE...
The best way to distract herself from the emotional torment she's been feeling throughout the week is to dive back into her storybook.
It's been a few weeks since Clark and Kaylie's fight in the corridor. And Rosaline felt like her head wanted to break right then and there.
The two women's quarrels have become a hot topic that students across Westminster often talk about. Every time his feet stepped anywhere, there were always Clark and Kaylie's names heard in his ears.
Now Rosaline sits herself in the shade of a tree. Trying as hard as possible to feel comfortable even though it always sounds ******* frustrating coming out of his mouth as his hair that is scatters is messy because of the wind.
Rosaline raised her head upwards, looking at the gray clouds covering the sky and blocking the sun above her to shine. He closed his eyes for a moment to enjoy the exposure of strong winds that roared, making the atmosphere around him cool and cool.
The girl fused her two brownish eyebrows together to coincide with the movements of the mouth that gave off a subtle grunting sound, wondering when she would feel the torment of the agony.
Honestly speaking. Facing Clark these days is really annoying.
The girl snorted in annoyance as a hair fell on her face and accidentally blocked her sight, then she slipped it into her ear. He tried hard to refocus with the reading book in his hand, but nil. His mind kept being disturbed.
After a long fight with her own wishful thinking, Rosaline, closed the book in her hand tightly until the sound of 'pop' sounded loud. He took out his laptop from inside the bag and placed the electronic object in his lap.
With a single push on the power button he gave, the laptop lit up, instantly showing vintage wallpaper and Rosaline's favorite dried-brown flowers.
Iris emerald the girl moved here and there, looking for the red round symbol of the internet and then pressed it. "How to deal with a bully," Spell Rosaline.
He put his fingers right on top of the laptop keyboard. Pressing each black block there and typing exactly like the title of a book that a woman named Kaylie had read in the library last time.
He swiped his index finger slowly over the touchpad after pressing the enter button, scrolling the cursor downwards as his eyes were glued to the laptop screen. Read each article title he was looking for and then hit one of them.
The girl tapped her index finger on the touchpad, her lips pursed, and a fine frown appeared on her temple. Now he is thinking hard. As far as the eye can see the way the internet is given is always the same and Rosaline is confused. He doesn't know where to start.
Rosaline preferred to do things in secret so that no one would notice her changes and movements. But unfortunately, with the method on the Internet there is only one way that can be imitated by Rosaline and it slowly away from the bully.
But Rosaline knows. If he did, Clark would immediately know his intentions and his position would not be safe. He better gather all the evidence of Clark's misbehavior against Asher and report it to the college board.
Whether they want to follow up on the report or not. At least he tried.
Rosaline jumped as a loud shrill voice entered her ears. Oh my god, inner Rosaline screamed. Anyone please tell him that the sound is not coming from the corridor and please! Tell him it wasn't Clark who caused the loud noise just now.
Rosaline closed her laptop and looked up. Over there. He finds Asher with several thick books afflicting his tiny body. The woman grimaced, as her hand groped the ground looking for her thrown glasses.
"You okay?"
Rosaline ran up to Asher after putting her laptop to the other side. He crouched down, picked up Asher's glasses and gave them to the woman.
"Rosaline, huh?" Ask.
Rosaline extended her hand helping the woman stand up. As Asher cleaned his dirtied clothes, Rosaline crouched down, picking up thick books on the ground.
"What do you want to do with these books?" Ask Rosaline.
Rosaline gawked, her jaw gaping, and her pupils widened. He watched the thick books in his hand, wondering how many pages of paper were attached there to make it so thick.
"You read these books?" To his surprise, "rather than this honest textbook is more worthy of being called a book," commented Rosaline and replied to a small laugh by Asher.
Deciding to help the bespectacled girl, Rosaline immediately took over some books from Asher's hands after tidying up her things. He invites Asher to take a detour, avoiding the corridor so as not to meet Clark.
"Lately I've seen you alone. Why aren't you with Clark?" Ask Asher. He slightly shrank the volume when he mentioned Clark's name, but Rosaline could still hear him.
"She's been dating with Jam— a lot I mean Adler. As a kind and understanding friend, I do not want to be the third person among them. So, ya— this is what I am now. Alone."
When they enter the library. The books that were in their hands were both instantly reassembled onto their respective shelves. Rosalyn. He looked towards the big window next to him. He squinted his eyes, saw a red-haired girl and a blond man chatting and looked very serious.
Maybe they were fighting? Rosaline. His temples immediately broke out in cold sweat. No way Adler's been caught cheating, he thought. And now, are they gonna break up?
Rosaline subconsciously brought herself closer to that window even though she herself knew she would hear nothing from there. His eyes looked at Adler's aristocrat's shriveled face disliking.
What was? Think Rosaline.
He distracted her as a subtle voice called out her name gently. He turned his head, saw Asher running towards him with a hand carrying several books and of course, a different book than the one they had brought.
Asher stopped right next to him. They looked around, before Rosaline broke their gaze and turned around only to look at the two couples. But what he found wasn't Clark and Adler. Both of them had disappeared from where they were standing.
"What do you see?" Asher asked. His eyes were plainly looking at Rosaline.
"It's nothing" she lied and smiled.
He glanced at the book in Asher's hand and then let out a long breath. The vow. Rosaline doesn't think.
How lice is Asher's book?
Rosaline would bet. He was convinced that Asher could definitely finish those books in a few days. Unlike him that might take several months or maybe years to spend.
"Oh yes, Rosaline," Call Asher.
Rosaline tilted her head as if asking what was the matter from her head gesture just now.
"Do you know where Kaylie is?"
Rosaline felt the blood in her head flowing drastically.
"No," answered Rosaline, "there are some of my classes that are the same as her. But he was always absent. Just for example today, he didn't come in" explained Rosaline.
Rosaline looked at Asher who was now playing her fingers and the girl's eyes looked the other way. His iris movements were agitated, as if he was hesitating right now.
"What's wrong?" Rosaline asked, trying hard so that her voice did not show trembling intonation.
"After her fight with Clark in the corridor that time. Kaylie was never seen again. I've never seen him anywhere."
Rosaline's legs went limp. It was like being struck by lightning in broad daylight. He felt his body stiff and a feeling of spontaneous worry enveloped him. Soon negative thoughts instantly enveloped him.
