The Continent of Europe
Chapter 41's

...CHAPTRE 41...

...THE STORM'S...

Rosaline could tell that it would snow more later that night just by looking at the thick snow as the surrounding temperature slowly began to decline.

The girl shivered, pulling her coat tightly just to try to block the chill seeping into her body.

"Maybe we have to postpone all development. It's dangerous for them to work in the middle of this winter" commented Rosaline, sitting next to James who was focusing on reading the documents.

The blond man nodded as he closed the documents he read and threw them on the table.

"Yes, maybe. We have to talk to Oliver first and the person in charge of this project on campus. Once they give permission, I'll email the client, telling them to delay all construction until winter is over."

"Then do it immediately. I can't imagine them working outdoors without five layers of clothing on their bodies. I almost froze in the cold here."

"Yes, I'll do it later when we get back to London."

Rosaline agreed.

"By the way, don't you feel cold?" He turned around, noticing the blond man next to him who was only wearing a red sweater. Wonder how he could not get cold, while he was already almost frozen.

"I wonder what the temperature of degrees Celsius is around us now."

James turned his head, watching Rosaline shivering in the cold. Although the girl was already wearing a thick Winter edition jacket from Anne's Fashion, it didn't seem too powerful to protect her from the cold. Or maybe he's the one who can't stand the cold.

"We have to get in. I don't want you to get sick here and make me have to take care of you. No. gabe. It's really troublesome. Come on in, I think we can ask Mr. for some hot food or drink. Allen. I'm a little hungry."

Rosaline agreed. The girl immediately jumped up from her seat and rushed to follow James from behind. Actually, whether it was Rosaline or James, the two couldn't help but wonder why Mr. Allen forced them not to return to London first, but they had already overcome the problem.

"Why haven't we returned to London yet?"

James shrugged, looking around where there was no one other than the two of them. He sat himself on the couch where he and Rosaline first sat when they arrived in Edinburgh.

"Eitherway. Mr. Allen said he wanted to tell us something, but he hasn't come back yet. Actually, I'm worried, if we go back

late— I mean at night, the snow will delay our train or maybe worst we won't be able to go home today."

This time Rosaline shivered in horror with only her head thinking about where she could not return to London and had to spend the night in Edinburgh. Especially with this blonde guy.

No. gabe. He didn't want any strange thoughts in his head just because he was stuck with the man in the snow.

"Maybe we can run away, you know, he's not even here," Rosaline suggested, making James look at her with a sneering expression.

"You think he won't be looking for us after that? I'm afraid we're suddenly out of here, Mr. Allen's gonna call Oliver and find us. It could be bad if Oliver finds out we're out of here."

Rosaline smiled blandly, just remembering about Oliver who could go berserk at any time if they left this job. "Oh right, Oliver. I almost forgot about it. He'll be furious if he finds out we're running away from here" Rosaline chuckled.

And then, their conversation stopped. There was nothing more to talk about when Rosaline had closed her mouth. He looked the other way, trying to ignore the presence of James next to him even though the existence of the blond man was too strong to ignore.

"Oi" said James, "can I ask you something? I know this is weird and has nothing to do with me, but I'm curious. So, can't you?"

Rosaline raised an eyebrow, looking at the man in a daze. "Yes? What is it?" He answers. His voice was as soft as silk.

"Rossie. Is that your family's nickname?"

After five minutes, the man finally spoke up. This time he no longer saw his nails, but James looked the other way except for Rosaline. Their silence was heavy in the room making Rosaline uncomfortable.

The girl bit her lower lip, then decided to speak. "Yes, my mom and dad gave it to me. Actually my twin brother has a nickname, he's Reggie and I'm Rosie. Reagan and Rosaline. Why?"

"No, it's just that the name sounds familiar to my ears."

"Well, maybe in England Rosie and Reggie are common names, so you've heard of—"

"No. That's not. I've heard my dad mention it, but I forgot exactly when."

"What does this have to do with me?"

James glanced at him. "Let's see, that's why I said this was weird. So, forget it. Pretend you've never heard me ask you this."

Rosaline shriveled in wonder. "You know you're the weird one, not the question," he said, raising the corner of his lips, looking at the man questioningly.

James still gave her a side glance, not looking at her directly but slowly, stealing glances towards her until her gaze stopped when Mr. Allen went inside. Meet with both of them again.

"It looks like you two should stay here longer. Weather forecast says, in an hour the storm is coming."

Both Rosaline and James. Both of them were shocked, making them jump off the sofa. Their mouths were wide open and suddenly the heart was beating very fast. They both stood there, staring at Mr. Allen —the smiling with plain— face with eyes wide open.

"Ap—what do you mean, Mr. Allen?" Rosaline asked, stuttering as her words blurred into one at the same time.

Mr. Allen did not reply, he simply grabbed the remote control that was already on the table and pointed it at the television. He pressed the on button and the television went live. There, Mr. Allen immediately searched for a news channel that presented weather forecasts.

“Based on estimates, in one hour there will be storms in every region of the UK. Locals were expected to stay home until the storm ended. Weather news will be re-broadcast as bar— notice"

Bzzt!

The television died when Mr. Allen threw the remote control onto the sofa.

"That is the news Mr. Adler and Ms. Rosalyn. I know you two want to get back to

London, but I think I should stop you guys now. I'm afraid your train to London will be caught in the middle of a storm. You two better stay here till tomorrow morning."

By looking at James's annoyed face, Rosaline could tell the man was angry and somehow Rosaline could hear the silent swearing coming from James as the blond man gritted his teeth.

Sure oes. If it were not Mr. Allen who delayed their return earlier, they could have now arrived in London. Or Rosaline had fallen asleep in her soft bed.

Damn this old man, inner Rosaline is upset.

"Maybe we should go home now, right?" James looked desperate and Rosaline

nod as soon as possible.

"Didn't you two hear the prophecy? In an hour the storm is coming and Edinburgh to London could take four hours. You better stay here until the storm's over. It just so happens that there's an inn near here that you guys can stay for a while."

Both Rosaline and James could only sense this would be disastrous.
