...CHAPTRE 64...
...KAYLIE'S BAD FEELING...
Night had dominated and Rosaline had not returned home either. Julian was pacing back and forth in the living room while Daniel pulled his phone and searched Rosaline's phone number. Ready to call the girl again if five minutes later missed and Rosaline also never returned.
"Do you have any idea l where she could be?" julian asked, desperately closing his feet to Daniel.
The man shook his head as a sign he did not know where Rosaline was. The two grown men sighed in frustration, worried about the girl's sudden whereabouts with no news of her.
Meanwhile, outside the living room, Reagan stood on the edge of the balcony guardrail while leaning his head down. He placed his hand on the guardrail, gripping it tightly until his nails scratched the iron surface.
His eyes continued to move to the right and to the left, observing every street of the city if Rosaline was sitting there quietly.
Now, as if to support his concerns, it rained heavily. Immediately cover the city of London with water. All the streets, trees, houses, and even buildings. Everything smelled a familiar alkaline smell on Reagan's nose.
He glanced at the watch he had been wearing since, peeking at what time it was. Yes, this is not the first time the twin came home late at night. However, the watch he was wearing had not even shown twelve o'clock, and fear had already ambushed his heart.
Where is Rosaline? His mind kept repeating that sentence.
Reagan gave a frustrated snort while massaging his dizzy head. He let his body slump, sitting cross-legged on the balcony floor with his faithful eyes looking out at the streets.
"Where is the boy?" The frustration.
Reagan's eyes sparkled as he looked at a girl with the same posture as
Rosaline was running around in the rain. Reagan immediately stood up, almost yelling at the girl before he realized that she was not Rosaline. Their eyes met, glued to each other, as Reagan realized that it was Kaylie.
"Kaylie?" Sluggishly. He noticed Kaylie's soaked body. From the top of her hair, to the bottom of her feet, and then she screamed again.
"What are you doing in the rain like this?!"
Kaylie, who was still out of breath after running, threw her hand into the air, telling the man to give her a minute before answering. For God's sake he's out of breath!
"Rosilene..." Stuttering, occasionally taking a breath. "Where is he?!" Shouts shouting.
Reagan frowned. Honestly, she didn't hear much of Kaylie's words even though the girl was already shouting. Apparently, the sound of rain dominates. It even muffled the sound coming out of it as well.
Without a second thought and saying anything else, Reagan immediately ran outside the house after grabbing an umbrella and taking it out with him. He even ignored Julian and Daniel's cries asking where he was going.
"The hell are you doing, dumbass! Logging in! It's raining here! You want to get sick?!"
Reagan shouted as he found the girl, Kaylie, still unmoved standing in the shade of the heavy rain above them. Though the girl was already shivering in the cold, just look at how she hugged herself in search of warmth.
"Let's go in" he exclaimed and thrust the umbrella he was wearing at Kaylie. Protect the girl so as not to keep raining.
"There is something I want to say" he said, shivering with cold.
"I'm all ears, okay? But we're going in first. It's getting heavy rain, we're gonna have a fever if we stay here."
Reagan led the girl into his house again. Inside, the two of them were greeted by Julian and Daniel who were still putting on anxious looks. The two men then handed Kaylie a clean towel so she could dry her body.
"Rosaline....," she said, "where is she?"
"Where, Rosaline?" Ask Kaylie again.
This time his voice sounded trembling. Either because of the cold feeling still lingering on his body or what, Kaylie's eyes were clearly watering. He looked at Julian whose incident he had just met, then at Daniel, and completely at Reagan.
"Rosie..," She turned her face away, "she hasn't come home yet."
"Where is he?"
The three men looked at each other.
"A few hours ago he went outside after seeing the news— ah I mean... That's... Oh shit I can't say!" Reagan's frustration. His darker hair he rubbed, scrambling it until it was not neatly arranged anymore.
"I know."
"What do you mean you know?" Investigating Julian alert.
The three men's eyebrows curled at the same time as Kaylie stood up from her chair and walked toward the black thin box object that had been lit up and showing children's cartoons.
"Kaylie?" Call Daniel confused.
Kaylie didn't bully him. He continued walking until he reached for the television remote. "You all should see this." His eyes looked at the three men sharply, filled with a streak of seriousness.
Kaylie changed TV channels to news. The next thing he could hear afterwards besides the presenter's voice on the TV was the choked sound. He glanced towards the three of them who were putting on a face of shock. There was no intention of hiding it anymore.
"What the fuck is this shit!" Julian shouting.
"Is this news true? Rosaline and Reagan are twins from the Vreaa family? The family that was found dead in their home ten years ago?"
Kaylie showered Reagan with many questions as the man refocused his attention on him. They looked at each other, before Reagan decided.
He looked away, not daring to look at Kaylie.
"Why are you two hiding it?" Kaylie asked.
"That's none of your business, Kaylie," Sergap Reagan.
Yeah kaylie knows that. He knew that every question he asked out of his mouth would not be answered by the three men before him. But it's not important. The circumstances and whereabouts of Rosaline are more important now!
"Where's Rosaline?" He repeated the question again.
"We don't know" Julian replied.
"Then we have to find him!"
The three men glared wide as Kaylie shouted, unceasingly making the entire house quiet. There was only the sound of the girl breathing heavily.
"We have to find him! I have a bad feeling with this. I don't know why I can guess who's behind all this."
"Who?"
"Clark," Kaylie insisted. "Clark Sadie Jenkins. I'm sure this must have been the snake woman."
