...CHAPTRE 39...
...SECRET...
"Where is he?" Rosaline grumbled, turning left and right, looking for James.
He took out his phone from his pocket, checked the time first before slipping it into his pocket. He looked around, smiling as he found an empty chair.
While waiting for James, Rosaline sat quietly, playing with her phone before raising her head quickly when she heard the sound of the train stopping at the end of the platform.
Once again, he turned his head, looking for James. Afraid that the train that stopped was a train going to Edinburgh. It's not funny if they miss the train.
Not finding the figure of the man, then Rosaline decided to call him, just to ask his whereabouts.
Pasting the phone to her ear, Rosaline could hear the sound of 'tut tut tut' before ending with 'This number could not be reached'.
He sighed, grumbling as he put his phone back in the bag.
"Let's see if he's late, I'll make fun of him to death" he muttered, crossing his legs as his mouth curses in silence.
After a long time of cursing in his heart, finally the blonde man he was waiting for came as well. It only took ten minutes after Rosaline called him. With a snort, Rosaline stood up, walking up to the man with a veiled face.
"Oh, I thought you'd be late, sir, just in time" said Rosaline, raising the corner of her lips to sneer at the blond man.
James rolled his eyes. "Tskk, I'll bet you who one of us came here first and I'm sure, it's me."
Rosaline grunting. "Very confident" he answered.
After a long silence, Rosaline watched the man as he struggled with his cell phone. He looked annoyed, then turned his gaze, seemingly looking for something.
"Damn it, I forgot to charge my phone, and now my phone's battery is weak. Did you call me earlier?" He asked and Rosaline nodded.
"Dam. Since my phone is off I have to go to the counter again to make sure the ticket I ordered online yesterday has been verified. Come on's. I don't want to book another train ticket because we're late."
He led the way while Rosaline followed him from behind like a submissive chick.
"Come on, Smith. Move that little leg of yours. I won't buy any more tickets if we miss the train."
Rosaline groaned, muttering as she hurriedly chased after him, struggling to keep up with her long steps.
Given James' body that grew several inches taller than him, and his legs were certainly longer than his. To the extent that makes Rosaline have to run small to compensate.
They stopped in front of the counter. Rosaline stood beside James, standing among the rows of other train passengers. When it was their turn, Rosaline could hear a sigh of relief coming from the blond man after the counterkeeper said the ticket he had booked had been verified.
"then? Straight to the platform?" Rosaline asked, on her tiptoes to see the ticket that had been printed in James' hands.
"Yes. We need to meet with the boarding officer first to check identity, then go straight to the platform and get the train."
This time, James walked quietly with Rosaline beside him. The two gave their tickets to the boarding officer, after which James led the way to the platform.
They sat first, waiting, before the train to Edinburgh arrived. Flight attendants and station attendants immediately welcomed any visitors, taking them all to the train.
"Sit down" James and Rosaline ordered to sit, beside the window.
Not long after, the train finally moved. Rosaline rested her hands on the chair, leaning her head against the window while James busied himself by reading some books.
"Do you have a mask?"
Rosaline turned her head, only to find James staring at the girl in front of them and also the few people around them who kept glaring at her.
"For what? Hiding you from your fans?" Rosaline joked, but still gave him the mask, luckily he brought some.
"Silent. You don't know how irritating their gazes are" he replied, putting the mask on his face.
"Why? Don't you guys—ah I mean you guys the golden money love attention? Just like Clark?" Rosaline frowned as she mentioned Clark. Somewhat annoyed just by saying his name.
James just shrugged his shoulders. "It would be a big deal if someone took a picture of me and then posted it on social media, especially when I was with you. Clark and my dad are gonna be mad at me and it's gonna be a real hassle."
"So, are you keeping this a secret from Clark and your family? I mean, I don't even have anything to do with you. Why should they be angry? You can explain it to your dad if it's just for the sake of the project. Not the others."
"You won't understand, Smith. My family situation is a little different. They were it—" he stopped, frowning as he pointed his head towards Rosaline. Staring at the emerald-eyed girl fixedly
"Why should I talk to you about my family situation? You don't need to know about that."
I don't know why Rosaline was so eager to hit the man's head. Wasn't he the first one to start talking about his family? Why should he be angry with her and blame her now?
Crazyhead! Inner Rosaline swearing.
"What's? Didn't you start first? I don't even want to know about your family relationship," he nagged, making James click his tongue before telling the girl to shut up as he drew more attention towards them.
"Shut up, Smith. They're staring at us!" He hissed, throwing some documents at Rosaline. It was as if telling the girl to read it rather than roaring uselessly like a bird.
Rosaline could only roll her eyes but still do as the man commanded. Within two hours of their trip, Rosaline felt dizzy. He closed the document and leaned against the window.
Sighs with resignation as he puts his hand against the cold window while his eyes glanced at the man beside him. The blond man rubbed his hair, muttering something that Rosaline could not hear clearly.
"May I ask you something?" Rosaline said in a low voice so that no one would hear her but the man.
"If it's not necessary and important, don't!" He denied, making Rosaline groan.
Actually, the question is important. He was very curious about the golden money and also, perhaps he could ask him about the theft case involving his father and Julian several tens of years ago.
So that the incident must happen to his parents.
But promise is promise. He had promised Julian not to mention his last name, Vreaa and Torres. And also, if he recalls, James is the same age as him.
How could the man know about his father and Julian's case. Considering that the theft occurred several decades ago.
Rosaline shook her head. Somehow feel a little relieved for not voicing the question directly, let alone in a public place like this. It was a very bad decision.
"Maybe I can look for it myself" he muttered, not knowing that James could hear it either, but the man remained silent. Pretending as if he never heard her words.
