...CHAPTRE 34...
...FIRST MEETING'S...
"Hello Mr. Adler and Ms. smith. I'm Ms.'s personal secretary. Matilda. I'm here to tell you that the meeting will start in twenty minutes."
As Rosaline focused on her monitor while James was reading his book, suddenly a man in a suit came into their room. The two exchanged glances then nodded and hurriedly followed the man.
Returning to the elevator, Rosaline stood beside James, playing her fingers on the cover of the document she was carrying. My God, the tense and nervous feeling in his chest fused together.
This was the first meeting he would attend and it did not seem to be for the golden money. James just stood quietly next to her with his back straight as if very confident.
"Let me tell you before we enter the meeting room. For your information, Ms. Matilda has invited all the sponsors who will sponsor your ideas in this meeting. So, I hope you both understand how important this is for the company and for you."
As soon as they arrived, the man left, leaving Rosaline and James alone in the meeting room. Rosaline sat down next to him again, with nervousness still lingering on her chest as the blond man tapped his finger on the table. Looks upset waiting.
"Give me the document, Smith," James ordered, pointing at the document in Rosaline's lap.
Without a word, Rosaline thrust the document at him. Honestly, in the last week since she first arrived here, Rosaline had gotten used to the silence she experienced with James whenever they were in the room without anyone else present.
It was like a new routine for him. Despite only one week of working with her, Rosaline was used to it. It's a miracle, isn't it?
"Remember what I said yesterday? Just be relaxed. Don't show them your nervousness. If they approve of our idea, it'll be easy for us to finish this project."
Once again, Rosaline nodded in agreement with the man's words. Shortly after their brief conversation, the door of the meeting room opened allowing a group of well-dressed men and women to walk inside.
James. The blond man immediately stood up, welcoming the handshake offered by the horde of people Rosaline suspected of being their sponsors later with a friendly business smile.
"Oh, Mr. Adler. Nice to meet you," said one of them and James chuckled.
"It's nice to meet you too, please sit down."
James turned around, looking towards the silent Rosaline with a trembling body. The man sighed, gesturing for the girl to stand beside him and Rosaline nodded, obeying his words.
When explaining their idea of Matilda's new development design with several other companies in several areas around the UK, James turned out to be a very different person.
The guy —in Rosaline—'s point of viewlooks so shining and talented. His expertise in marketing and also his expertise make others believe in his words, making him look more intelligent.
"and, for the construction of the building, my colleague, Miss Rosaline will explain it to you all in more detail. This is the only design we agreed on."
Rosaline's face darkened, gloomy emerald eyes instantly appeared as her head shook slowly. The blonde man once again sighed. This time it sounded tired and tired. He directly pulled the girl's arm, placing her forcibly on the spot where she was standing a few seconds ago.
Rosaline pursed her lips, frowning as she moved her weight from one leg to the other due to feeling nervous. He looked around, scanned around before he took a deep breath and started talking.
"And why did you choose that design? It looked very complicated, "one of them asked.
"About that, based on the newspapers I've read and looking for more detailed information on the internet. I realize that both Matilda's company and your company are always fixated on complicated construction.
"Your company always considers something with concepts and details in advance to add to the attractiveness of the company so that consumers and workers feel more comfortable.
"Therefore I chose this design for the cooperation company that will be undertaken by Matilda's company with other companies."
The projector they were using at the time showed the design Rosaline made when the girl touched the touchpad, moving on to the next page where the design was drawn there.
"Because the owner of this company really likes the victorian building style while other companies prefer the modern style, I modified the traditional style with the modern style. And here's the end result."
The room went quiet for a minute after Rosaline visualized her construction design. The girl looked around in fear, once again reading their facial expressions.
Under different circumstances even in the same room, Rosaline could feel a pair of eyes were staring at her and she knew whose eyes it was. Sure oes. No other than James Orion Adler.
The blond man turned his eyes, looked at his documents and shrugged a small shoulder in response.
"I like your idea of a modification between traditional and modern styles Ms. Rosaline, and also for the details, although it looks complicated but very beautiful."
"Yes, the merging of the two styles seems to respect each side. I like your idea, Ms. Rosaleen."
A hint of a small smile flashed across Rosaline's face as everyone clapped and praised her design. He steals a glance at James and then at Oliver. The brown haired girl was holding her chin up, smiling proudly towards Rosaline wide.
"Well looks like our cooperation will start from now on" he exclaimed and stood up.
As soon as Oliver stepped away from his chair, everyone in the room immediately followed him. They all stood, waiting for the owner of Matilda's company to shake hands with them.
"Thank you, Ms. Matilda. I hope this cooperation will bring great benefits to all of us."
Clap up!
The door closed and Rosaline's body slumped against the wall behind her. The girl was relieved. Grateful for not making a mess or James would have killed him if he messed up their first meeting.
"Good job, Rosaline. For now, you can focus on the design, while James makes a proposal for a sponsor. After the proposal is completed, the two of you should come to their company to hand it over. Think of it as a courtesy after our cooperation begins."
The room became quiet and Oliver clapped his hands. "Alright, I'm waiting for the best performance of you two in this project. I hope there will be no obstacles that will interfere with this project later, both internally and externally."
Rosaline nodded while James remained silent. The blonde man stood up, moved away from his chair and then left while carrying a few piles of documents with him, leaving Rosaline alone with Oliver in the meeting room.
He noticed the figure of the blond man who slowly disappeared as soon as the meeting room door closed again. Then he turned his head, looking towards Oliver whose hand was at his waist while shaking his resignation.
