The Continent of Europe
Chapter 48's

...CHAPTRE 48...

...JORDAN...

Five days after that, Rosaline never saw James come to the office again. To be honest he was worried about her, even though he didn't like her but still he was worried. Worrying about someone you hate isn't a big sin, is it?

Rosaline straightened her sitting position, yawning while stretching her tired body. He glanced towards the door. Still hoping that the man would show up today, even though he himself knew it was twelve in the afternoon. There was no chance that the blond man would come to work today.

Rosaline pushed her laptop out of sight. His eyes hurt and hurt. Keep shouting rejecting the blue light to keep going inside. With a long, tired breath he leaned his body against the table.

Honestly working alone like this is no fun. Although James is annoying and his job is just to criticize

Rosaline, there's at least a little life. Unlike now, quiet and silent.

Rosaline let out a sad breath. His head turned towards the glass window only to see intensely to the outside where the gray clouds were covering the sky.

Blocking the sunlight to shine and the roaring wind in the air made the weather out there feel a little cold. Even though winter was over, the cold had not left them.

Somehow Rosaline got a picture where James was standing in front of a window, looking out while nagging something silly to taunt Oliver. Comment on the room that will be a refrigerator because it is very cold or how bad the decor in it is.

"Hahaha, that's funny," he chuckled. Feeling sorry for herself who missed that moment.

It has only been five days since the man was absent and did not come to the office. If James knew Rosaline was missing her existence a little, what would she say? Of course the blond man would mock her with his arrogant style huh?

Rosaline buried her head with another sigh before suddenly the door of her room thumped hard, very hard, making the whole wall shake and Rosaline's laptop almost fell to the floor.

Groaning, Rosaline lazily directed her gaze towards the door. Just to check who was bothering him from the peace of the moment. The wrinkle on his face suddenly disappeared when he realized who it was.

Golden platinum blonde hair standing in front of him. He looks terrible. There were dark circles around his eyes, his golden hair was as disheveled as a bird's nest. Make Rosaline can't bear to not touch it and tidy it up as usual.

"Oh, I don't think you're coming today" said Rosaline, trying to keep her expression flat despite the small smile she wanted so badly to crack.

"By the way, you're alive? You look terrible" commented Rosaline, as the man sat beside her.

James just groaned, leaning his body against the table. "Don't ask anything. During today's lim, I just listened to my dad nag about our family rules. Tell me, I have to do that or I can't do it. Really sucks!"

Rosaline smiled. "What about Clark? Is he mad at you?"

James did not answer and instead opened his phone and threw it at Rosaline.

"See itself. I'm lazy to explain."

At first Rosaline was reluctant to check her phone because it was privacy, but James insisted. So Rosaline hesitantly grabbed her phone and read every message between Clark and James.

There were so many calls from Clark that went unanswered and the messages were unread as well. From there Rosaline could tell right away that James was completely ignoring her.

"At least give him an explanation, Adler. Don't make him worry like this" Rosaline commented putting the man's phone back to his side.

James gave her a dramatic look in response. "No explanation needed, Smith. There's nothing between us, you said it yesterday."

"Yes but—" he hesitated.

Somehow he could feel Clark's worried feelings. The parable alone if Rosaline had a lover and her lover was rumored with other women of course Rosaline would be worried. There might also be a feeling of anger and resentment that wanted so badly to kill him.

When Rosaline opened her mouth to speak or give any talk to James, for the man to brief Clark on the matter.

James raised his hand into the air, gesturing him to be silent.

"By the way, aren't you at work tonight?"

Rosaline threw a probing gaze before nodding. "Yes, why?"

"Accompany me to a bar."

behind him.

"Can you handle whiskey or vodka?" James asked as he sat by the bartender's desk.

The bartender who was busy with his drink quickly turned around and smiled broadly at each of them. Rosaline looked at him for a long time, puzzled, before turning her head towards James again. Gave him a questioning look.

"I don't know anything about bars, Adler. Maybe non-alcoholic ones. I can't get drunk or Reggie will kill me when I get home."

James tapped his chin, thinking. "Mocktail then," he said, "one mocktail and a vodka!"

James had to half-scream for the bartender to hear him, given the thumping music in the bar which was quite loud.

"Mocktails... A little harsh for an amazing evening, eh?" He nodded towards James.

"Well, life's just getting a bit bitter on the tongue."

The bartender chuckled. "Alright then, mocktail and vodka on the way."

Rosaline sat in silence and watched the bartender in front of her curiously. His feet that did not touch the floor, swaying, enjoying the music in the bar that offset the pounding of his heart.

His emerald eyes stared long at the bartender, unable to deny how attractive the man was. Rosaline found herself fascinated with the movements of her hands while making drinks or a grin on her face once she realized that Rosaline was staring at her.

"Who's your name?" Rosaline asked, suddenly.

The bartender stopped his activities, made drinks, and approached Rosaline. She offered her hand while her eyes winked at Rosaline's hand, as if telling her to move her small hand.

"I'm Jordan, miss."

He kissed the top of Rosaline's hand, making the girl brutally turn red. The dark red hue on his face spread across his face after the bartender named Jordan winked a second time at Rosaline.

"Arreter la Jordanie. Ne le taquinez pas!"

"C'est tons of petit ami, Jammy? etes-vous jaloux?"

Not understanding the language they both use, Rosaline watches them like a sports match. Flicked his head at James and returned to Jordan. There was a desire to interrupt but he did not even understand what they were talking about.

"Go, Jordan. He's just a friend of my friend."

This time Rosaline knew that James was trying to get Jordan to leave, but Jordan instead grinned instead of leaving them after their drink was over. He stared at Rosaline long before leaning back closer.

"On hook qu'il vous aime, madame. Enjoy the drink."

After saying something that Rosaline did not understand, she left, leaving

Rosaline is alone with James. Dazed, Rosaline turned to look at James, as if from her eyes she was asking the meaning of Jordan's words.

"ignore him. Words are not important."
