The Continent of Europe
Chapter 38's

...CHAPTRE 38...

...PERMISSIONS...

Sunday, in February.

Since today is his day off, Reagan takes care of the cafe with Daniel while his twin sister, Rosaline, is in her room with a mountain of work.

Yesterday, the girl returned late at night with a grim expression on her face. She did not even bother to go to the dining room just for dinner, instead the girl directly rushed to her room and went straight to sleep.

"It looks like he had a bad day yesterday" Daniel said, stirring his coffee.

Reagan nodded. "Maybe. I've never seen him like that. He looks like a walking corpse, maybe a zombie is the right word to describe him yesterday."

"I wonder what happened to him."

Handing over the coffee he had made to the customer standing at the barista table, Daniel turned around, walking straight into the kitchen leaving Reagan alone with the crowd at the cafe.

Well. Reagan did not look dizzy with the noise in the cafe at that time. He only sighed while leaning his body against the counter, pinching the base of his nose in frustration.

A second later, the doorbell rang again, signaling someone entering the cafe. Reagan groaned inwardly, as he raised his head and looked towards the door. The man only took exactly one second to see who had entered, before he glared.

"What the fuck?" He growled almost shouting and drew everyone's attention towards him as he looked at who was standing in front of the door.

Reagan groaned, muttering to himself about his misfortune. In the middle of the day, why did everyone she met have to meet the man she wanted so badly to hit? Over there. There was a blonde named James Orion Adler.

The man only fell silent looking in all directions with a sharp gaze, before his attention halted on Reagan who was standing at the counter and glaring at him. He walked over, in defense, as he heard Reagan groaning.

Furious, Reagan tried to be professional. He could not suddenly throw a punch and draw everyone's attention towards him, even though he really wanted to do so.

"Welcome to the little latte espresso, something to eat or drink? Bring it home or here?"

Anyone who heard his tone just now, would immediately know that Reagan was very lazy or rather had no intention to serve the blonde man in front of him.

"Can I see the menu first?"

Reagan nodded slowly, while the other hand thrust the menu book at him. The blond man picked up the book Reagan had given him and looked at it before returning his gaze back to Reagan.

"Maybe it is better to know the recommendations as well, because the menus offered tend to be very good and tasty. I was confused as to which order."

Reagan's eyes twitched in annoyance as he looked at the grin that the blond man had drawn towards him. He almost yelled, telling the blond man to order the entire menu at the cafe, so he didn't bother explaining.

With a wide smile forced on his face, Reagan directed his attention to face the wooden frame next to him.

“We have hazelnut latte, avogato, toast, and also waffle,” he explained while pointing to a frame that shows a list of menu recommendations.

It took a while for the man to decide what he wanted to order before he concluded with a hazelnut latte and two servings of toast.

"I repeat your order, hazelnut latte and two servings of toast," Reagan repeated as he wrote down his order in a small note and attached it to the coffee machine.

"Is there anything else?" He continued, raising his gaze only to get the head bobble from the man, "no? Okay, then. Bring it home or here? For recommendations, it's better to take it home."

James shrugged his shoulders, knowing that this twin of Rosaline in front of him was trying to chase him away. But not today.

"Funately, I choose here."

He could hear the word 'fuck' from the man, as he led him to an empty table. Well, James doesn't mind actually. He came here not only to order and calm down while enjoying food and drinks. He came here for something different.

Reagan glared and James grinned. Her facial expression was very similar to Rosaline's when she suddenly mentioned about her twin sister.

"What's? Thinking that I might not notice the resemblance between the two of you? Well even though Rosaline's emerald eyes and your gender can be the differentiator to keep you two apart."

Reagan frowned. "What do you want from my sister?"

"Don't I tell you I have something to say to her?"

"You can tell me, I'll tell her later."

"Not interested. I want to tell him myself."

Reagan snorted and left. He told Daniel to take care of the blonde man's order first while he called Rosaline upstairs.

"Who? James Orion Adler?" Daniel's shocked.

"Yes. He said he wanted to meet Rosaline,

maybe talk about their project."

Daniel nodded and hurried to make an order. It didn't take long for Rosaline to get down and meet her partner. He stopped in front of him who was enjoying his toast.

"What's wrong?" He asked gently and sat in front of her.

"We have to go to Edinburgh. They said something was wrong and asked us to go there to check on him." He handed her his phone, told the girl to see for herself the email she got this morning.

"Edinburgh?" Rosaline surprised. "When?"

"Tomorrow. I've taken care of everything."

Rosaline groaned doubtfully as she turned around, staring at Daniel and Reagan who were watching them.

"I'll ask them for permission. You can call them here. I'd really appreciate it if they stopped looking at me like that."

Rosaline waved her hand, telling Reagan and Daniel to come closer. Both looked confused, but kept on complying.

"What's up, Rosie?" daniel asked with a gentle smile.

Rosaline turned to James, letting the man speak. "We both had to go to Edinburgh. The project we made there was something wrong, so we both had to go there and check it out for ourselves."

"You asked me for permission? Just ask Rosie, she will accompany you there," replied Daniel, turning to Rosaline again.

Rosaline and James turned to Reagan. Waiting for him to speak.

"If anything happens to my sister, I'll kill you."

And then, James turned his attention back to his toast and gave a confident nod in response.

"When did you two go there? And with what?"

"Tomorrow. By train. Nine o'clock in the morning. Can you two help me make sure this girl doesn't come too late again?"

Rosaline pouted while Reagan and Daniel nodded. "Yes, he's always late. He's a slacker when he wakes up in the morning."

With that, Rosaline kicked her twin sister and Reagan just swung his body and left. Leaving behind Rosaline who yelled to tell him to come back.
