...FIRST NAMES BASE...
Rosaline noticed Kaylie —the woman who a few minutes ago had an argument with Clark in corridor— was stuffing her nose with tissue when her blood was not stopping.
The woman went into the infirmary with Asher just minutes after Clark and James left. Rosalyn. The one who felt his bag was left behind finally came back and here he is now. In a room with Kaylie and Asher.
"Oh? You're a friend of the arrogant golden money guy, aren't you?" He narrowed his eyes looking at Rosaline fixedly.
Rosaline unceremoniously nodded. He turned to the bed where Clark was lying and made a rave about Kaylie to James earlier and found his bag there.
"Is that sick?" Rosaline asked timidly.
He knew how stupid the question was but he was curious.
Rosaline turned to look at the horror of Kaylie's nose that was still bleeding and looked at some rolls of tissue and Rosaline was sure, the red color in the tissue was the woman's blood. Kaylie's Blood.
"Hit? Well actually no. My nose is spoiled and be a nosebleed like this" he replied casually. His hand pulled another piece of tissue from inside the tissue box proffered by Asher next to it.
Rosaline turned her attention towards Asher who had been glancing at her since. "I'm sorry. Clark's behavior just sang—"
"Shut up, Smith."
Rosaline. He stared in bewilderment at Kaylie who raised his hand, giving
Rosaline gestures to stop talking.
The woman named Kaylie looked at him flat before crashing the tissue he used earlier and collecting it into one, then throwing it into the trash box next to him.
"If there's a word 'sorry' for him, the golden money is what should say it, not you or anyone else. But that arrogant fellow must say it himself."
He pointed towards Asher with an eye movement still shrouded in sharpness within. And Rosaline just smiled blandly.
Actually the apology that came out of his mouth just now was not in the name of Clark or anyone else. He doesn't say that for Asher to forgive Clark's actions to him, but rather he does it to himself.
He wants to apologize. Every time Clark propped him up, he could only watch it in silence. There was no movement at all for him to help and release Asher from the grip of the golden money.
As Adler said. He must accept his fate if he is weak. I don't have the courage to fight Clark. But they are the same. The humans. And what is Rosaline really afraid of? The golden money's power or Clark's threat to him at that time?
I don't know. He clearly had no courage.
"yeah. Right. He should have said it" muttered Rosaline.
No longer wanting to be in between the uncomfortable atmosphere, Rosaline pulled the rope of her bag and carried it behind her back. As her feet walked towards the exit and her hands nearly pulled the doorknob, Kaylie spoke and made Rosaline come to a halt.
"What do you see of him to the extent that you're friends with him."
Rosaline turned her head slightly, looking at the two women through her shoulders. His head slowly turned around only to see Kaylie looking at him curiously.
Rosaline's lips curled doubtfully. How could he have told her the reason in the first place why she accepted Clark's friendship. He'll be laughed at.
The reason that even now he still asks.
Why didn't he think logically that day instead of following his inner feelings, just because Clark was the first to extend his hand and make him friends at the beginning.
"Let's know, I'm even still questioning it," Rosaline chuckled awkwardly.
"I don't think he's a good friend to you."
Rosaline felt her heart shake. This time Asher said it. And Rosaline knew what she was going to hear next from the glasses woman's mouth.
"Why don't you end your friendship with him? Your friendship is too toxic in my opinion" Kaylie commented and Asher nodded.
"I know you're a good man, Rosaline. You just picked the wrong friend" Asher reminded.
Her soft eyes that were being pierced by the glasses sparkled with a concerned glint, making Rosaline feel even more confident. That his decision to accept Clark's friendship from the beginning was the biggest mistake of his life.
"Thank you, but—"
"You're not even happy with your friendship. I can see it from your face now. Because it's okay to fight it occasionally. Maybe with you fighting back, your relationship could end."
Rosaline smiled small — very small even until invisible to Kaylie and Asher— after hearing the words of the woman who sounded very easy to do.
Even though Rosaline herself knew it was hard. There was no courage in his heart.
Not like Kaylie. She's afraid.
"Kaylie, right?" Rosaline called.
This time he turned around, fully facing towards Kaylie and Asher. She looked at the two in turn before locking her eyes at Kaylie who was now tilting her head, as if wondering why Rosaline called her name.
"Be careful. Clark must have had a grudge against you after this incident," he smiled gently, "he's planning something and I know it's bad. Therefore be careful," he recalls.
"Why? Is the golden money gonna hire someone else to kill me? Well, I'm not scared at all. No need to be sorry. I can take care of myself and thank you, Smith, for warning me. I'm flattered."
Rosaline pursed her nose, shocked at Kaylie's words that took her warning lightly. He shook his head, trying not to be bothered with it.
"Rosaline, please," she smiled, "I call you Kaylie —which I believe to be your first name—, so you better call me by my first name too. So, Rosaline."
Kaylie nodded quickly and smiled. "Notched!"
When Rosaline reached for the doorknob once more, she threw a smile at Kaylie and Asher, who were also smiling at the two of them before fully exiting.
He sighed, leaning his back against the door of the infirmary after being outside. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. How hard he ignored it, the tremors were very disturbing. Rosaline finally took it.
He again let out a long sigh as he looked at his phone screen, where the phone number was
Clark was clearly there.
"[You can go home. James and I have a date.]"
There was a pause of a few minutes before Rosaline replied. Because I don't want to be the third person,
Rosaline said, "dating, huh? Yeah, yeah, I don't want to interrupt. So enjoy your date."
There was a 'tut' sound as the call was turned off.
Rosalyn. He sighed again and thought about Asher and Kaylie's words earlier. It doesn't seem like a bad idea to have Rosaline fight Clark once in a while. That way he could slowly break their friendship.
And Rosaline could be free of Clark forever.
