"Your heart is still in place" said Patrick understandingly. "If not, how could you possibly sit here and complain at length?" he added, trying to make the elderly feel calmer.
However, the elderly frowned only, his expression indicating dissatisfaction with the answer given by the doctor. He said Patrick's answer was irrelevant to his complaint.
However, Patrick's conjecture proved correct with the elderly's response. It was not him who answered wrongly, but the elderly who had problems with his hearing.
"Payang fold? I'm here for a heart-return operation, not a folding umbrella" the elderly said in a stingy tone, feeling that their conversation was not going the way he wanted.
From the head down to the chest, Patrick noticed the flaw, a hearing aid squeezed between the fabric lodged there. Politely, Patrick excused himself, then took the thing from hiding.
"Wear the hearing aid first, yes!" Patrick gently put it on the elderly's ears, making it easy for communication between the two of them to run smoothly.
Carefully, Patrick places the end of the stethoscope on the elderly's chest, looking for a heartbeat that proves life is still in his body. While the other end is attached to the ear of the elderly so that he can hear it himself. The sound of a regular heartbeat flows through the stethoscope, revealing the existence of life behind the skin and bones.
In the quietness of the room broken only by the sound of a heartbeat through a stethoscope, the elderly listened solemnly. He felt his heartbeat, a vibration that showed that life was still flowing steadily inside him. While listening, the elderly closed his eyes, trying to sense the existence of his beating heart with an inevitable force.
Even so, doubt still haunts the mind of the elderly. He doubted the existence of his own heart, such as searching for beliefs that were hard to find. Patrick, the doctor, patiently, tried to convince him.
"Quiet, Cake. Your heart is still healthy and beating strongly" Patrick said in a soft voice, trying to bring calm to the heart of the elderly.
However, the doubts of the elderly were not easily overcome. Patrick had to convince her. "If you're still in doubt, we can do a cardiograph and a ronsen to confirm the presence of your heart" Patrick said, pointing out his seriousness to help the elderly understand his state of health.
Outside the room, Fang was very bored. He seemed to be pacing around, tired of sitting for too long without doing anything, to the point that he decided to do some small gymnastic movements to relieve fatigue from sitting for tens of minutes.
"Miss, aren't you tired of just sitting all day?" he asked in a curious tone, while standing on one leg, trying to encourage the woman who worked as a health worker beside him.
"How else do you want?" answer the woman with a faint smile. "This is how I work when other work is in order. There are no medics besides me and Doctor Patrick here. I can't just leave the clinic even though sometimes I want to go for a walk to get rid of fatigue."
Fang nodded in understanding, feeling sympathy for those exhausting working conditions. "Then, let's exercise together to be healthy! It would be nice if health workers are healthy all the time, right?"
The woman also accompanied the grandfather. Fang told her to count with vigor. The gymnastics duet came to a halt while the elderly went out with Patrick.
Patrick is astonished to find his apprentice nurse jumping up and down while stretching out his arms with Fang. Fang was happy his wait was over.
The elderly also found a new interest when he saw Fang. He greeted enthusiastically.
"Ah, Fang, where's your Cassava Grandson? He had to fry cassava for me. He must have forgotten. In fact, I've had a message from yesterday-yesterday, but it hasn't been delivered to this day," said the elder.
Ever since Sanubari started selling cassava, the Elderly had never been absent from visiting Fang's house. Sanubari's training schedule is almost disturbing at all times. At such a time, Fang was looking for an excuse to spare him from Sanubari. However, Fang occasionally let them off when not scheduling anything for Sanubari.
"He's at home. Come if you want to meet him! You can ask Alfred or Sumi if you don't know where he is."
"Good job! I can wait for him to fry the cassava so he doesn't forget it again. Bye bye!" The elderly waltzed, completely forgetting the affair with Patrick. Now, his memory is filled only with cassava and Sanubari.
Patrick breathed a sigh of relief. The departure of the elderly is a gift for him. If it doesn't go away soon, Patrick may still have to continue the chatter about the heart and it can last for hours. Patrick turned to Fang.
"Grandfather Fang, tumben's here. You want to check your health too?" ask Patrick.
"Just want to talk lightly. Let's go for a walk!" Fang smiled.
Patrick left the clinic after telling the nurse. They walk around the village.
"Time to end the charade." Fang started the conversation when they reached the foot of the mountain.
"Theatricality?" Patrick follows Fang who keeps going up. Tonggeret made a loud noise, as if helping to disguise the conversation from whoever stole the listen.
"I've taught everything I can to Sanu. There was no need to linger holding him here anymore," Fang said.
Patrick understood Fang's direction. Fang has his own way of releasing Sanubari. Patrick will also think of a more natural way to wrap up the breakup that began with a lie-filled meeting.
"You can also go with him if you want. You know Sanu's identity, right? Your future might be better if you come out of the village with him than to devote yourself to this old village."
Patrick was silent to Fang's words. They stopped at the top. The small houses look very tenuous, can be counted with fingers. Patrick can do as a doctor, almost nothing.
Two days later, Fang throws the car keys at Sanubari. Sanubari glee is not play. He was allowed to drive out of town.
Driving lessons have always been one of the challenges. He was obliged to carry a car full of eggs at high speed, but was forbidden to break a single one. Take tofu and milk bottles ever. Driving a passenger car is nothing compared to all driving experiences in the past.
Fang was quite satisfied with Sanubari's driving ability. Although used only cheap old cars, which usually cause a lot of shocks, Sanubari is able to minimize it until almost nothing at all. His driving style is very smooth.
They drive four full hours. Digital monitors advertise the upcoming GP motto. They stay at the hotel. The next day, the 15-minute journey resumed. Sanubari just drives following the navigation. He only stopped when the navigator said that they had reached their destination.
"Grandfather Fang!" Milo waved his hand, running small towards Fang and Sanubari who just got out of the car. She smiled at the sumringah.
"Basar grandchildren lack attention! How dare you not visit me for four years." Fang patted both palms as if to get rid of the dust.
Sanubari felt strange about their interaction. It looks unusual for a long-separated family gathering. Supposedly, they hug each other, shake hands, or mince words about the news. At least, that's what Sanubari had in mind.
In fact, Sanubari envisions a warm reunion with Eiji, Abrizar, Renji, Sai, Fanon, and Anki. In a moment, he can go home. Then, his friends would greet him with laughter, eating delicious dishes.
Sanubari hasn't heard from Sai since they split. But, he really wished Sai had returned with the others safely. Sanubari did not want to imagine the bad. However, the reality in front of the reunion is not always as beautiful as his wish.
"May they don't reward me with a punch if I come home later!" thought Sanubari. He'd rather be greeted with cheese cassava.
"I'm busy, Cake."
"Babies are also opened, but always remember back to their parents when bored among the busyness of playing."
"Don't equate me with a baby! I am an adult and independent."
"The self you can't make an excuse to forget the family."
"Yes-yes, sorry! From now on, I will always take the time to visit. After all, who forgets family?" Milo turned his attention to Sanubari who had been silent. "This must be the Sanu that Grandpa told you about, right?"
"Greetings!" Sanubari extended a hand.
"You guys are the same age. I think you can understand that easily."
"Millos. It was quite shocking to hear that someone was challenging the Champion, who was 10 times in a row undefeated. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be part of his successful team. You'll be a record-breaker if you beat him." Milo shook Sanubari's hand. His voice is full of pride.
"I don't care about solving anything. Anyway, I have to win. I'll put all my energy into making it happen in one try."
"By the way, where's your bike?" Milo circulated a glance. No more vehicles entered the parking lot after Fang's car stayed in place.
"He'll challenge your drivers with a run."
Fang's words made Milo waver. "I'll give you a ticket to Italy if you can really do it, Sanu!"
"really?" Sanubari's enthusiasm increased dramatically. Luck is on his side. With this, the time of his return will be closer.
"Yes." Yeah." Milo responded without stopping laughing. The conversation was nothing more than a joke to him.
Another matter with Sanubari who takes it seriously. "Grandfather Fang, you're a witness to this agreement. Help me collect if he tries to disavow!"
"It's nice to meet a flexible person like you. No problem with not bringing your own motor. There's still a spare motor you can use. Comeing! The Champion is waiting."
Milo leads the way. They're climbing on a wooden board. On the right side, the forest was spread out, blocking the view.
"Actually, there's another way to get to the circuit. But, I think this is the best view, suitable for eye washing, repel tension before going down to the battlefield," said Milo.
As Milo said, Sanubari quite enjoyed the trip. The air is very refreshing. The aroma of wood and soft foliage greets the smell, like a therapeutic scent. The road is getting uphill and winding. The view has changed too.
"Sanu came here to compete, not to travel."
"Sanu must be saturated after living for a long time in the village with the parents. Natural scenery is good to rejuvenate his mind that goods times have been fooled."
"What is cheating? No word of cheating. Perhaps it is your mind that is looming so that it cannot pronounce the word correctly."
As Fang exchanged ridicule with Milo, Sanubari busied himself with the surrounding panorama. Colorful flowers appear to be lying in the distance, forming the phrase 'The Biggest Grand Prix Ever in History'. The domes curved on the ground like half a ball that poked out from the ground, scattered in several places. No one would have guessed that the building was a multi-purpose stadium if it did not approach it.
Sanubari wondered. They look very small, emitting a sheen of various colors under the sun. Some reflect the view of the sky and around. On the other hand, the circuit snaking. Sharp bends here and there. The road they walked down. The forest began to run out, changing again with another view.
The three entered the transparent elevator. The glass box moved down. When out, Sanubari only saw a ceramic floor connected with grass, sand, and asphalt is very wide. Milo continued to walk them until they reached a place like a workshop.
Someone was waiting in full protective clothing, ready to race right then and there. Milo introduced them.
The Champion was surprised to hear that Sanubari would challenge him by running, relying only on his feet, without the aid of tools, except for the usual sports shoes he wore. But this is the reality. Now, the Champion is in the starting line with Sanubari.
Milo stood in front of them, carrying a flag. She really did not expect Fang to be serious about her words. He doubted the truth in front of him.
The engine roars finely, as if saying it is ready to be spurred at any time. Sanubari squatted in a standby pose like a professional marathon athlete. In order to avoid cheating, a small camera was tied to his forehead. The young man stared straight, as straight as the camera stuck to the middle of his forehead which was like a third eye.
As soon as the flag is lifted, the motor drives. Sanubari deliberately turned his back. He did not want his victory to be considered invalid because it accidentally preceded. Moreover, he had to do five rounds. It was a huge loss if he was disqualified just because of a trivial matter.
When the motor is completely visible in front of the eyes, Sanubari bulges his leg muscles. The wind hits Milo as Sanubari passes by. He looked at the back of the young man who was trying to catch up.
