Santri Famiglia's
Buried Ruins

Eiji postpones work due to a message from Sai. He rewinded the satellite footage hours before Sanubari exited the ship, then followed the men who had taken Sanubari. After that, the coordinates of Sanubari's whereabouts were sent to Sai.

With a stolen motor, Sai drove to the location. However, a kilometer from the destination had been blown away. There is no road that a motorcycle can take. Once again, Sai contacted Eiji with a newly purchased cell phone.

"Sempai, are you sure you didn't send me the wrong address?"

"Of course not" Eiji replied from across the street.

"But it's like a city that's just been bombed by an atomic bomb." Sai stood on the edge of the asphalt that was collapsing.

He peeked. The hole in the gaping wide, not unlike an abyss. Its depth might be over twenty meters. Some of the buildings still standing were damaged. Glasses broke.

The atmosphere is so quiet. No one's around there. It makes the place like a dead city.

The answer from Sai certainly made Eiji astonished. The reason, just before the location he sent to Sai, everything seemed fine. It's only three or four hours after the coordinates he sent. Afterwards, Eiji did not monitor the progress of the satellite footage.

To understand Sai's words, Eiji again borrowed Abrizar's laptop. The place Sai stood was indeed like a former battlefield. The destroyed condition extends to the Sanubari location. That point became the center. Eiji continues to expand real imaging.

"Bad news," Eiji said after seeing the location footage from the satellite displayed on the monitor, "you won't be able to reach Sanu's location by regular land vehicles or on foot."

Sai looked straight. Damage is so severe. World war seems to have just begun again or a major natural disaster struck this country. I don't know how many victims fell because of it. It must have taken great luck to survive being at the center of a disaster of this magnitude .

"What about Sanu?" Flat Sai expression. But he was worried about the boy.

"Good news," Eiji's sentence paused for quite a while, "he's fine or I think so."

"Why does Senpai sound unsure?" Sai demanded an explanation. This damage and Eiji's sentence made him prejudiced badly. If that prejudice were true, Sanubari might have been lying lifeless somewhere among the ruins.

Even so, Sai will still be looking for him. No matter what the circumstances of Sanubari are, Sai will take him home. That is his dedication as a friend.

"He was trapped underground with a few people. There's not enough light there. So, I can't be sure. Even though Sanu fainted, they still took him. I think we can use that to draw the conclusion that he's alive."

Eiji himself doubted his own conclusion. Italian advanced satellites can indeed be arranged to follow the movements of a person. Eiji locks Sanubari as a target as he leaves her. The satellite remains in a real-time see-through mode following Sanubari.

However, when all went dark, a large question mark and a warning box appeared. The satellite can't detect where Sanubari is. Only occasionally did the warning disappear due to the dim light.

However, satellites continue reconnaissance by relying on human body heat sensors. When one person is buried in the building, a new question mark appears again. Even so, the recording continued by following the regroup that had grown. One more question mark increases because one more person is separated.

Eiji clenched his hands. He hoped that one of the two people who might have died was not Sanubari. So many bodies were in ruins. The satellite ignored him. It remains in priority following the original group which is now not clear anyone. The group continued to move until it stopped at one point.

"I'll try to find help here." Sai closed the call.

He drove the motor back away from the rubble. The roar of the propellers passed him in the midst of the detachment of the road together to reach the horizon. Some of the sky even seemed dark.

From the pigeon's point of view, the helicopter appeared to be flying low towards the ruined central part of the city. The bottom is open. An excavator was lowered slowly from the giant metal dragonfly.

"I don't think so." Two pigeons flew over, scanning the helicopter and the excavator closely, "hey, pay attention, Alpha One! It belongs to the Russians."

"You're right, Alpha Two. What are the neighboring military helicopters here for?"

"Should we interrupt them?"

"Unfortunately, we're not authorized to. We'd better watch what they do!"

"live reports. Hm, I think that's a good idea."

Two pigeons flew closer to the excavator's landing point. A white-haired man was riding an excavator that had been modified into a half-robot.

The green line of the scanner lights up, observing the surrounding area. There are no more active bombs nearby. There is only one blue dot that lights up almost overlapping with the white dot that shows the position of the excavator.

The blue dot is Sanubari's position. The point didn't move because they were stuck perfectly down there. Large pieces of debris that could not be moved shut them up. In fact, there are those whose heads and legs are bleeding because of the rubble. The minister lost an aide. Queenza also lost one member.

They all sat in the dark. The sweat flooded the entire body, mixing with dust clinging to the exposed skin and their clothing.

"Damn! It looks like it's gonna be our last day." Queenza slams cell phones in despair.

They have repeatedly tried to contact someone for help. However, none of their calls were connected, as if there was a signal jammer in the way.

"Died out of breath because trapped in ruins. It's ridiculous!" The minister smiled bitterly.

He came to this place to extend one's life. Let alone saving others, saving oneself cannot. His age will soon be cut off, ahead of those he wants to save.

"Sorry ...," the minister's mind.

"We'll be safe, sir. The explosion was no longer heard. The rumbling has stopped. The police will move immediately to evacuate the victims" the doctor said, looking up in the darkness.

Breaths Gasping. They start attacking everyone. The air there is quite stuffy. Oxygen is starting to thin.

"That's if they are smart enough and dare to approach this newly destroyed area" Queenza replied."

"They'll probably move tomorrow or the day after. That's even if they don't cooperate with or get in the way of the child" another woman said.

"That brat really wanted my death." Queenza smiled bitterly.

They're speechless. Whether it could last that long or not, they were immersed in each other's thoughts. Just waiting in silence they could do. Without food, without drinks, they should be able to survive for a long time with thinning air. That's if they want to stay alive.

Meanwhile above, the excavator moved back four meters from the position of Sanubari. A pair of pigeons recorded the event which was directly channeled to the other party. Mechanical hands remove debris. When it encountered the surface, it punched it until it cracked and shattered. Excavator opens new road to bottom. Two pigeons continued to observe him from the top of the ruins.
