The Grave Diggers

The sun is high. Three swinging hoes tore through the soil, forming a rectangular hole.Sheat seeps from the pores of three men.

"Sanu, less than a centimeter."

Sai holds the meter, stretching it from end to end on the Sanubari excavation hole. The man of pure Japanese descent has asked many things to the residents. As a beginner, of course he does not know the right size of the plot.

However, at that time the residents only replied, "What matters is the length. Not to be bent."

Because of lack of understanding, Sai to read the rules about the recommended size of the cemetery plot. One point he understood—length and width adjust the size of the corpse. Even so, the average size was twice a meter. Sai's notebook is full of******chuck typical Muslim graves.

"What's right, Sanu? You're asking us to be a gravedigger?" renji Protest.

He stood up, rubbing the sweat with a t-shirt. The hole is just as high as the stomach.

Sanubari helps to maintain the body. He looked at Renji who was one hole away from him.

"It's my ideals. One of the things that is on our agenda."

The young man smiled, no matter how sweaty the size of corn kernels went down the temple. The sun sting that boiled the water in the tub was ignored. He must continue to work until the hole is ready.

Tired of swinging the hoe replaced with the happiness of the realization of a small mind. If that afternoon he had not visited the village chief's house, perhaps this opportunity had not been in his hands.

Two full weeks after his return from Tanzania, Sanubari was locked up in a house under close supervision. Every day Canda monitored his health. He also had to do various checks with various tools.

His activity is very limited. Sanubari can only take care of the cassava garden and take care of Fanon giving which turns kiwano seedlings. One of them he brought to Indonesia, planted in the garden behind the house.

Now, the land around Sanubari's old house is under construction. The process has been going on for about a month. Fanon designed and reviewed the project.

Although the contractor who handled the project is famous for its satisfactory performance, Fanon still wants to make sure with his own eyes all runs smoothly, there is no element of fraud or corruption that can reduce the quality of the building.

The third week of construction, Sanubari was allowed to go to Indonesia. Anki came to Indonesia. They all live in three-storey boarding houses near the renowned campus. The building is a building that Sanubari obtained thanks to the contribution of Abrizar's father.

Sanubari also obtained a typical Dutch building that has been torn down and rebuilt into a cafe house. The cafe is held by Anki, assisted by Aradia and Dana. Hufaira who was a child also often came to help after school.

The house of the Abrizar family is right in front of one side of the cafe. So, it was easy for them to reach him. The first week since the cafe opened, the business went as expected.

The cafe is selling even though the main menu is cassava. Students who have difficulty finding food during the holidays immediately stormed. The cafe is busy from morning to evening.

Then, Sanubari decided to see the development of development in Blitar district. Sai, Eiji, Renji, and Abrizar are with him. They had discussed it the night before. Small projects will start there.

They stopped by the village chief's house. Sanubari brought her flagship cheese cassava. As he was conversing, a resident suddenly stood at the door.

"Sir Kades, shrewd! Lothawat! Nawat, Mr. Kades!"

The man gasped. Her chest of fireworks like freshly ran around the village a hundred times. Sweat was pouring, wetting the forehead, neck, chest, back, and armpits.

"What's so bad?" ask the village chief. His face was serious for a moment. The casual conversation stopped.

"That, anu, um, that Kirman family died all."

Death is a natural thing. Although Sanubari himself was shaken when he heard of the death of his mother, but he did not think it was an event that was classified as being feared.

"The thing is, that one family died. No treasure was left behind at all. How do you bury him? It must have cost fifty million more for the three bodies" the man explained.

"Anu, just bury it in my field! Bratis. I did provide land that was planned to be used as a public funeral. If necessary, we'll also help dig his grave," Sanubari said.

He knew how expensive the gravediggers were. So, he deliberately volunteered so that they would not bother looking for a grave digger.

"Alhamdulillah. Gather the citizens to take care of the bodies immediately! While I will take care of the burial ground with Sanu and the others. Later, I'll go to the funeral home as soon as the grave is ready."

"Good, sir."

The man left again. The village chief borrowed two other hoes from neighbors. He also brought three embr. The stuff was put in the car. The village chief followed the car by riding a duck motorbike.

Upon arrival at the site, they were confused, not knowing how big a hole to dig. Sanubari lay to the ground, asking the others to measure the hole according to its height.

"You think tall and big everyone's the same? How about a narrowing?" Abrizar.

"It's not the same if it's ashes, is it?" Renji Interruption.

"The bodies of Muslims are not cremated" Abrizar replied.

None of them are experienced in such a thing. As a result, Sai followed the village chief to the funeral home. Meanwhile, Sanubari and the others cleared the location.

The trees have been cut down from far away. The stumps have also been uprooted to the roots. The land is pretty big. They discussed will start digging from where to look neat.

Not long after, Sai returned while carrying the meter and notes. He explained that the hole should extend from North to South.

As the village chief left again, the amateur gravediggers began to dig. Therefore, the three ended up holding the hoe under the scorching afternoon. Sai helps them remove the soil from the hole and make sure it is the right size. He even drew a line on the ground so as not to stray.

"Are you kidding me? Your ideals are ridiculous, Sanu! I don't want to be a gravedigger mafia forever. What kind of mafia is that?" Renji ruffled waist.

Sanubari will respond. However, Eiji first rebuked, "Ren, watch your talk! It's an open place."

The sound of hoes clashing with the ground continued to be heard. Eiji who was in the middle of them continued to dig, filling the empty bucket with excavation soil.

Sanubari re-excavate. "I just want to ease their burden. That'sthat's all. If Brother Ren objected to doing this, Brother could stop. This is not our main activity. The rest, maybe we can leave the management to the citizens," explained Sanubari.

"In this village, one must have at least ten million to summon a grave digger. Only people are able to fulfill all funeral arrangements to completion. I don't want to add difficulties to their already difficult lives" he continued.

"Let's just say we're doing some social work, Ren! Didn't Onyoudan used to do this kind of thing? Yeah, although it's different." Eiji tried to mediate.

"Yeah, maybe you're right." Renji.

"Go back to your work so that it's done!" said Eiji.

Renji is back in the hoe. They dig in silence. No noise except the sound of the ground being hit and dredged. The trees are silent. The wind seemed not to move, participating in the silence created.
