The birds chirped, as if laughing at the drama that was happening among the human child. A dagger of wind was unable to shake the three human beings who were fixated with shock respectively.
On the terrace of a magnificent villa, four people stood. Their eyes were fixed on one young man—Sanubari.
The young man still held Aeneas' hand. Zunta hugged Sanubari. Aeneas's eyes widened knowing his son did not recognize him. Zunta is the same. The girl looked up, looking at Sanubari's confused face.
Not far from them, sat Canda who was sipping tea. The grandfather heard their brief interaction. He put the cup back, then stood up. He approached Sanubari and made the teenager sit opposite to him. Aeneas and Zunta sat down on the empty seats. While the foreman who takes care of cassava seedlings and gardening equipment told Aeneas to return to his work.
"Who am I?" Canda wants to test Sanubari's memory.
He had heard of the conflict of Aeneas and Sanubari. The problems of both are quite complicated. He had also heard about Sanubari before arriving in Italy. There were no accidents or physical injuries to his head.
Sanubari watched Canda. He thought for a long time. All the grasshoppers look the same in his eyes. While Sanubari does not remember ever being acquainted with this many locusts.
So, he racked his brain hard to find the difference between them, then gave an answer, "Bearded bitch."
Zunta laughed out loud. He looked at Canda. "Grandpa looks like a grasshopper."
Quiet joke. He was pervading Sanubari's answer. For a moment, he glanced at Zunta, then pointed at the boy while asking, "If this is, who, Sanu?"
Sanubari's view turns to the smallest grasshopper among the three. He replied, "Little bitch."
Zunta looked at Sanubari. He pointed at Sanubari with his lollipop. Exasperated, he said, "What did you say? Little grasshopper?"
"You are small." Sanubari nodded innocently.
Canda continued to observe Sanubari's expression. It was as if he was looking for something from Sanubari. No matter how small it was, there was nothing he could miss.
"I'm not a little grasshopper. I'm Zunta. Z–u–n–t–a. Zuntas. Did you forget that?" Zunta put his lollipop in his mouth. So upset, he crushed a candy ball with his molar teeth, then threw a candy stalk into Sanubari's forehead. The noise in Zunta's mouth was very noisy.
He was a manyun, not accepting being equated with an insect. While Sanubari reflex winked because of the work of Zunta. Sanubari rubbed his forehead which felt a little sticky.
"Your name is the same as someone I know, Little Grasshopper." Sanubari still uses that call.
"How many Zunta do you know?"
"I guess two. Zunta man and you, Zunta Little Grasshopper."
Sanubari's words became the beginning of the coachman's debate between the two. Zunta could not be out of thought, Sanubari could pin his name on an animal and now call it the beast. Canda tried to mediate. Finally, the upset Zunta sauntered to where the cassava seedlings were laid.
Sanubari. Canda littlenyq understands what Sanubari is going through. There are no lies from any of Sanubari's answers. The look on his face did not show that the boy was pretending. The teenager was not amnesic. Only, his eyes created a world of their own.
"For now, just follow what you want! Don't refuse once in a while, as long as it doesn't harm him! Don't judge him! It'sit's okay. We'll heal him slowly!" Canda noticed two young generations who were busy bringing cassava seeds into the greenhouse.
Sanubari looks dizzy. He was like confused looking for something, then ran to where he collected gardening equipment.
"But, what about that?" Aeneas was glad that Sanubari could be normal again towards him.
However, knowing Sanubari's attitude was because he had not been one hundred percent cured, Aeneas became worried. He feared that the estrangement between them would increase when Sanubari recovered.
Sanubari held onto Zunta's shoulder as the girl was about to plant a cassava tree into the ground that had been spewed. Sanubari. He pointed in one direction. Nor does Zunta plant.
Their distance is very far. Probably about twice the length of a football field. Canda and Aeneas could not hear the two children's conversation.
The villa he occupied this time was many times that of the guard lake villa. He even deliberately bought land owned by residents to expand it after Canda suggested outpatient at home.
All that is solely so that Sanubari can run his hobby freely when healed. Aeneas could not forget how obsessive the boy was towards cassava. Because of the child, one hundred percent of his men became regular customers of fried cassava and other processed variants.
"That?" Canda somewhat did not understand the direction of Aeneas's conversation. It's a bit of a multitafersion.
"Misunderstanding between us."
"Oh, that." Canda slightly sighed. "Not all bad memories can be erased. Nor can the first truth be replaced with a new truth, even though the first truth is in fact a mistake. The trust issue is complicated."
Canda admits that. A child who has been educated since childhood that killing is good will grow up believing that killing is the truth. A year or two may not be enough to bring down the first doctrine. That's what Sanubari did. It takes longer to get rid of the wrong truth.
"Importantly, multiply the fun things with Sanu! I will do my best to make Sanu forget the bad things before," he continued looking at the blue sky. It seemed, he would have to stay here longer.
"Mr Aeneas, there's a guest." A man came.
Aeneas. Behind the man were young children whom he recognized.
"Good morning, Uncle! We brought a little souvenir for Uncle and Sanu." Anki represents her friends.
Aeneas smiles. They never miss visiting Sanubari. He saluted the solidarity of these young people.
"If you want to see Sanu, he's there." Aeneas pointed at the greenhouse.
Anki and Hana smile to see Sanubari busy with his new farm. They hurriedly put down the luggage and ran to Sanubari's place.
"Sanu! You're finally healed!" Anki wanted to hug, but Sanubari was busy pouring something like soil out of a sack.
"It's good to see you're healthy again, Sanu. Sorry, if I've been too hard on you all this time." Eiji had not been able to dispel his awkwardness.
Renji embraces Sanubari. "Why not tell me you own a house this big? I can't believe you're really rich, Sanu!"
Sanubari was confused by the arrival of more locusts. They all recognized him, but only Sanubari himself could not remember them. He left his sack.
"Who are you?"
The question left everyone dumbfounded, except Renji. The man laughed.
"Your joke is not funny. Look at! You made them all gawk."
"i'm serious. Who're you?"
In Sanubari's eyes, they all looked the same. Although their voices were still the same as the original, Sanubari could not recognize their voices. The memory of that seemed to be erased, like an old friend who had not met for years.
