Santri Famiglia's
Ghost Train

About half-nine in the morning, Sanubari arrived at Tokyo Station. He was the only passenger to get out of the car. The platform looks empty. However, there was a station attendant who was aware of his arrival.

Pretending to be in a daze, Sanubari welcomes the officer. He was taken to the officer's office and interrogated.

"Phantom train?" asked the officer frowned after hearing Sanubari's explanation.

Sanubari who sat in front of him nodded. "Maybe."

He did make up the story that he left Hokkaido this morning at six in the morning. According to his confession, the morning train was very crowded. When the train stopped, the car was full. Who would have thought, after he got out, all the passengers on the train just vanished.

"If Hayabusha had indeed left at six in the morning, you should have arrived here at around two in the afternoon. There's no way the trip you took would only take two and a half hours. Take a look at this!" The station attendant handed Sanubari a tablet.

There is a departure schedule and estimated time needed. Sanubari only took a quick look at it, then asked, "What time is it?"

"You can see for yourself in the top right corner."

Actually, Sanubari had already noticed the clock. Nine o'clock less. He widened his eyes. Apparently, long enough also he was detained by this station officer. After that, he also shook his head.

"Cannot be. Last night I got word that my brother was stricken. So, I went to the station in a hurry. About half-twelve o'clock."

Sanubari moved his eyeballs upwards, as if he was remembering. He did not completely lie at this point, so could be rather calm when uttering. Anki and Eiji thought of her when they told her stories. He thinks, maybe there is no harm in considering Eiji as a brother who was stricken by disaster.

After all, the man had indeed suddenly left because his sister had suddenly disappeared, and Sanubari was following up to help him. Sanubari tried to find a justification for his actions.

"I went straight to the travel agent and asked for the train that was leaving that night. Unfortunately, there is no. So forced, I bought my first Shinkansen ticket. The station attendant let me wait on the platform. I don't know how long, until the initially quiet platform becomes crowded, and the train is ready to leave. I'm in, too."

Sanubari paused the story for a moment. He's down. No need to pretend, Sanubari's pale face made the station attendant think he was scared. Sanubari slowed down the sound, further dramatizing the next sentence.

"When I transferred to Shinhokudate station, I met a creepy ghost. His head was floating above his body. He has no neck. Frightened, I beat the ghost down. Then, hurry up on the next train." Sanubari touched his nape.

Her ten-year-old self probably wouldn't dare to discuss this kind of story. Sanubari laughs at himself in the heart. Time really makes it change.

Suddenly, the phone rings. The station staff picked him up. His expression changed after hearing from across. He occasionally looked at Sanubari with a strange look, trying to digest the information while comparing the description of Sanubari.

Officers from across the street said that there was a thief in a green-sliced bullet train with black hair. It fits perfectly with Sanubari. The man also said that the thief knocked out an officer. While Sanubari just said that he hit a ghost.

The station attendant had only three speculations. Between Sanubari lying, sleeping on the road, or delusive lunatics. Sanubari's description does not make sense, but it is not wise to make decisions without investigation. The train in question is now parked at the station. So Sanubari cannot be called a thief.

"Can I go now?" ask Sanubari as soon as the station clerk hangs up.

"You wait here for a minute!" The station officer got up.

"Locked."

Sanubari sat back down. He thinks hard. He's created the perfect alibi possible. He could not destroy it by acting rashly.

Reflecting on the incident at the Onyoudan office before going to Osaka, Sanubari believes there must be a surveillance camera in this place. He should look calm, as if he doesn't know anything. If he escapes now, Naka can be sure his status will rise to fugitive status.

"How's this? What am I supposed to do? How long do I have to be here?" sanubari's mind was confused.

He wants to find Anki soon. But circumstances have trapped him here. Heart's fidgeting. The two clenched palms cooled down. In fact, his body suddenly shivered. With an uncontrollable pounding, Sanubari's entire body trembled.

Outside the room, the station attendant continued to walk, towards the platform that had been secured. No visitors are allowed in. On the way out of the entrance is installed a warning board.

The station moved quickly. A few technicians were present to inspect the train. The station chief was also present in the field with several policemen.

Police officers collect evidence to handle cases. Doing all the techniques, an officer looking for a fingerprint sample on the driver's cabin. However, he could not find anything. He turned to look for something that could be used as other evidence.

On one side of the platform, the stationmaster stood with both hands intertwined behind his back. He observed the path of the examination.

"Ekiin Chou!" The station attendant who locked Sanubari, called the station chief.

"Doushita?" The station chief turned his head, asking what was the matter.

"Saki no Shounen nan desu ga,Kare no tokucho wa, genkyu sa reta dorobo to hijo ni nite imasu." The station attendant said of Sanubari's resemblance to the thief in question.

She also told him everything Sanubari had told her without exception. The station chief heard it while nodding. He himself did not believe in the so-called ghosts. In his mind, Sanubari must have just reasoned.

"Anata wa keisatsu ni afternoon o tsugerubeki desu!" The station chief told him to tell the police everything he knew.

Once the police finished the examination, the technician was allowed to do his job. They should check the condition of the machine.

"Dou deshita?" The station chief asked the results of the investigation when the inspector came to him.

"Shimon shogou to mashin chekku no kekka o matsu hitsuo ga arimasu. Tashikana shoko ga nakereba, taiho wa fuchui ni jikko suru koto wa dekimasen."

The inspector said the arrest could not have been made at random without solid evidence. For that, they will have to wait for the results of fingerprint matching and machine checks.

"Suppose san, Ano Shinkansen kara, tada hitori no orita jyoukyaku wo mita no desu ga ...." The station attendant told her testimony that she saw the only passenger who got off the train.

As if interested, the inspector looked at the station attendant. Police staff are working hard to produce evidence. They also recently received surveillance footage from earlier stations, as well as reports from the control of the mapping center.
