"We must immediately take him to the hospital," proposed Sai who still supports Sanubari's body.
"We move her body first. I guess, it'll take a little time to hail a cab online."
Renji approaches Sai, helping the man lift Sanubari. They took him to the room. After laying Sanubari down, Sai unloads Sanubari's bag. Only the singlet he could find as a substitute for a washcloth.
With a potluck, he cleans Sanubari's blood. Meanwhile, Renji takes the phone. He's gonna order a taxi. However, from Sanubari's room Eiji shouted.
"Ren, don't book a taxi to the hospital!"
"What?" screamed Renji back from the living room.
Renji doesn't believe it. His partner is bleeding. Plus, there's a deadly outbreak that he says is sweeping the country. Of course it made her worried, but Eiji instead forbade her from calling the medics.
Not to mention, Sanubari has a history of illness for months. This added to Renji's worries.
He quickly returned to the room that was only a few steps away. Leaning against the door goal, Renji said, "Where is your sense of empathy, Ei? Didn't you see? The boy's condition was so alarming. What if he had caught the plague? You know for yourself, right? He looked very fit last afternoon. Suddenly falling like this, it felt really weird."
Eiji let Renji speak as he pleased. He himself is processing all the data that exists and relating it to events that occur.
"I'll keep hailing taxis even if you forbid it" Renji continued, looking back at the cell phone.
"Better to book a car to the airport. That's if we can get a ticket back to Italy soon. I don't trust the people here even if they're doctors" Eiji replied.
"Don't believe what you said? We just got here. You don't know them all either."
Renji turned to look at Eiji who was standing in the room. Eiji looked at Sanubari.
"What if this plague turns out to be a conspiracy ...."
Eiji began to explain his opinion. Remarks from some residents that there are parties who want to buy land with low prices, medical costs are quite expensive, the list of names found on the data base aifka—all of it leads Eiji to one conclusion.
The plague is not transmitted through the air. Instead, it is deliberately inserted into the victim's body through aifka injections. Red-blocked names indicate that the target has been successfully infected.
Eiji remembers two people who failed to acquire land because of Sanubari this afternoon. One of them may recognize Sanubari, but pretend not to know.
If his conjecture is correct and medics are involved, then taking Sanubari to the hospital is as much about handing the child over to danger. Instead of getting the drug, they may be injecting the virus at higher doses.
"Aren't you overreacting on this?" ask Renji.
He reflexively canceled the order. He didn't think that far. In fact, the dragonfly bite earlier was only considered an ordinary event.
"There's still half the liquid in the dragonfly. Wanna try?"
"No, thank you. I still love life. Okay, I'm gonna find out about a travel agent who can take us to the airport right now."
Renji goosebumps. Biological weapons are the most difficult opponents to deal with. Renji didn't want to dabble when it came to such a thing.
Sai also admitted the same thing. Biological weapons are the only enemies he cannot face. Only the destiny and endurance of the body will determine whether to lose or win. Sai looked at Sanubari with a wailing look.
"It's going to take too long. Do you remember the burning ship we had on our way to Italy?"
Eiji looked at Renji. The question provokes Sai and Renji to remember a tense tragedy from the past.
"What does this have to do with this?" asked Renji who could not guess the direction of Eiji's mind.
"We have to report this incident to Uncle Kelana. I'm sure our salvation at that time was the intervention of L'eterna Volonta. I don't know how they knew we had an accident. But, no one has a plane faster than them" Eiji explained.
He had thought about this too. Those people immediately left after finding them, as if those rescuers were present just for them. The rescuers were not even seen looking for other survivors still trapped on board.
The allegations came after Eiji learned the facts about Sanubari. He was only lucky that Sanubari was with him at the time. Suppose not, maybe the rescue team will not come that fast.
"Seven days. I wish Sanu was just a normal fever," Sai murmured.
