LETTER TO 10
From: Evan
For : Uncle Jericho
Anita came back from work to the hospital, where mom and I were playing cards. He holds my darkest secret. Die me.
I kept all the letters I wrote to my father under my bed, even the replies to the letters my uncle sent back.
Anita, laughing out loud as she walked in, I was angry because I knew the good.
Mother asked in her weak voice, what made her so happy.
I replied that it was a shame on me and took away my confidence.
"Anita, I swear to God if you say a word you'll regret it!" I screamed at him.
"really? How about, little brother?" she asked.
"Don't fight in front of me, kids!" Mother said, and for her sake, I stopped being angry.
Anita showed me the letters I had written since I was three years old and really thought I was cool. Anita, of course, spoke with a laugh, only to mock me. I get angry, I go berserk, I get very angry every time I hear that stupid laugh. He's really stupid, no wonder no one likes him, I don't blame Andre anymore.
My feet dragged me and my hands moved to her cheeks. I slapped him hard, in his face and out of the hospital, and went to the lake that my father used to take me to watch him fishing when I was two.
I sat under the tree we used to sit on and turned off my phone.
After I calmed down a bit, I went to my workplace, today I work the night shift, looking after the jewelry store.
I went to school in the morning, in the afternoon washing and repairing cars, in the evening, I was awake to look after the shop and finish my schoolwork. I have a new friend. He's a guard dog named Blacky and Boy, his 54-year-old owner.
Boy told me about him when he was young, I heard it was quite interesting.
He even helped me if I didn't understand anything! He's the one who gave me 'advice' about growing up. I wish you could tell me those things, like the other father and his son.
I wish she was here, I promise I won't slap Anita in the face like an animal.
Mother will no longer be sick, Anita no longer slices herself. I can get some entertainment. I could have a laptop and spend time with the Internet and follow cool trending things.
I must be cool, I can have a new dress every time. Aniya could have gone to college by now and left me quietly.
Mommy might still have her flower shop. I'll also ask dad for advice to go and ask Cathy out on a date.
I no longer need to eat on the side of the road because we don't have enough food.
I admit I stare at people eating from afar, hoping I'll eat well too. But I can't eat and let mom or Anita starve.
I always thought I had the worst life ever. Yeah, that's until tonight.
I haven't told Mom or Anita that I work as a shopkeeper, a car washerman out of fear they'll stop me.
Maybe they think where I can get the money.
Boy had a heart attack right in front of my eyes I also heard a strange, loud, and strange sound.
He sat down then he went for, forever!
The worst part is that I witnessed Boy's murder right in front of my eyes. Then, another bullet hits Blacky and falls to Boy's side.
As if my grief wasn't enough, I had to show how my father died right in front of my eyes, and after that I was next.
I panicked and I hid behind a wall. The four black-clothed men approached the elderly Boy and his dog stabbed them several more times!
Maybe I'll get fired, so I thought I'd run from here to survive. But I can't. Until I heard a voice telling me to fight and fight. I can't just give up without a fight.
Fighting for my friends, not for my work that will be lost.
The voice belonged to my father, the father who told me to fight and control my whole body and soul and made me run into Boy's body and take his gun.
"Wait on! Don't you all move ! Leave everything you stole and raise your hands!" I told them.
They looked at each other and laughed very hard. Exactly as I expected. Underestimated myself
"Oh really? Uwuwwu. I'm so scared, son! I'm afraid, I'm gonna piss my pants! Go, stop me, show me what you can do!" One of them spat at me and laughed right in front of my face and pushed me away.
The moment that I felt, everything was dark, I felt a pain running through my entire body.
He ripped my skin off with his gun.
I pulled out my phone in the dark to call the police but my phone was taken and the man stepped on my phone with his shoes.
I quickly got up and punched him.
I watched him crawl and scream in pain.
I hid behind the counter and jumped on someone else's back and bit his neck.
He screamed and made me fall on my back, making him sick. He tried to tackle me but I quickly kicked his leg with all my strength and grabbed a thick stick from the ground and gave him a few punches quickly until he fainted.
"You little devil! Who are you?"
I never thought I could do all this that night. Someone pulled me from behind, I lowered my head and kicked his vitals, so he could let me go.
"Kill the kid, now!" One of them shouted.
Thank you, Father, for bringing me trouble.
He told me what to do, but when I felt so weak, he told me.
"At least you're fighting. I'm so proud of you, you don't know how much I miss my brave little soldier." And with that he left me. They kept beating me until a knife fell out of someone's pocket. I held it but the man stepped on my hand with his shoes.
I screamed and bit her so she could let go of me. Then I hurt their legs with one irisa, making them all fall and bleed at the same time. That was amazing.
I ran out of the store and grabbed Boy's phone and called the police.
"Hello Police. Please, police, ambulance, anything what is it, please help us!"
"OK, Son! Can you tell me where you are" I thought that was all I could remember until I woke up in a hospital bed with Mom and Anita hiding their worries and sorrows with a smile.
Please don't tell mom I work as a shopkeeper.
See you later, though,
Evan.
Father's little soldier.
