Be My Soldier Forever

Be My Soldier Forever
Ep. 15

All the staff along with Anastasya sang happily and applauded afterwards. Doctor Jason smirked and blew out the candles.

"It's time to cut the cake.." Anastasya sang and they all laughed.

Jason cut the cake and didn't know who he was going to give his first small slice of cake to. Anastasya rolled her eyes and pushed nurse Lisa forward. The two co-workers looked at each other and blushed.

"Recover this well. I want to eat my cake too," whined Anastasya, looking indifferent.

Once again, they all laughed and the doctor put a small piece of cake in Lisa's mouth. What a sweet moment, Anastasya thought. Lisa took out a piece of cake and put it in her mouth as well. Anastasya could only smile at this sight.

They look so sweet together!

Everyone is enjoying themselves now. Some are busy eating even though everyone has just had dinner while others are dancing. Everyone should be in a truly festive and happy mood. Even Anastasya was busy eating most of the cakes!

As Anastasya picked up another piece of cake, she noticed that Alex was no more. Is he out? No. .. she can't go she's paying attention to her surroundings but doesn't find herself. Then where is he?

Anastasya walks around the room looking for her but she is not there. Anastasya asked some of the nurses if they saw her, but they replied no.

Now that she became somewhat worried, she thought that this party would cheer her up but.

Anastasya walked across the room looking for Alex with a look of despair on her face. He really went looking for her.

"Anashasya!" a doctor called out, "Why don't you dance?"

"I'm fine," the girl forced a smile but failed, "I want to find Alex"

"Ohh," the doctor smilingly pointed to the right, "Well, that's it! He's standing there!"

Anastasya quickly turned his head in the direction that the doctor intended to see Alex standing in the corner alone.

He ran quickly towards her. "Alex!" she flinched, "I'm looking for you everywhere, are you okay?"

His eyes looked at each other for a few seconds after all Anastasya saw was only a dark shadow.

He knew that he had not fainted, definitely because he was still standing. But he was immersed in an embrace. His hug. Alex hugged her so tightly.

"What happened...?"

Is that the right thing to say?

He doesn't know what to say. It was just.... new .. he felt something he could not describe.

"Alexes..." Anastasya whispered softly, "Tell me what's going on?"

"Don't let go of me" Alex quickly replied, "Please!"

"I won't let go of you" Anastasya smiled as she hugged him back.

After a while he spoke again. Anastasya could spend years like this, just being with him like this. She didn't know why but, she felt safe.

"I'm afraid of Anastasya," his voice trembled, "I don't want to go to war ..."

"I don't want to go .... I don't want to go to war," Alex continued in the same tone, "I want to stay with you. You care about me. I want to stay with you. "

Anastasya's eyes watered at the sentence and she hugged him tighter.

Even I want to stay with you, Anastasya said in her heart, I don't know how and when but, I think I'm in love with you.

"Don't worry, you'll stay with me" said Anastasya, "I'll be here for you my soldiers forever."

The music in the room slowly faded and Anastasya reluctantly broke their embrace, she did not want to attract the attention of the others.

"You're a good girl" Alex smiled at her.

He leaned over to kiss her forehead very gently. It was one of the best moments of his life.

The sun slowly rose from behind the clouds, but the air was still cold. The patients roamed the corridor and Anastasya slowly returned from the doctor's office. He always kept her happy about the captain's health news and what Alex told her the day before at the party made her anxious.

According to Jason's doctor, the reaction is not a good sign. He developed a phobia of war. If this continued, he would not be able to continue his military duties after that.

Anastasya waited for about an hour while Alex was busy with his therapy. After that, they both took a walk. There was a gazebo in the garden so the two of them could decide to go there and sit quietly.

Anastasya felt very lucky to be in front of him. Now he realizes how special Alex is to him. Very special.

"Didn't you have a therapy schedule today?" Alex suddenly asked him.

"Um .. no. I was only given some medicine," Anastasya smiled.

"Oh, ok," he said, looking back at Anastasya carefully.

"What's that?" he blushed with a small smile.

Alex raised his hand and removed something from his hair, it was just a small leaf. But his touch was equivalent to the thousands of butterflies wandering around him along with the burst of fireworks in his heart. All he could do to hide this feeling was swallow.

"You look tired" Alex suddenly added, "You didn't sleep well last night, did you?"

He's correct. Anastasya didn't sleep much last night. He had nightmares, almost all night.

"Come closer," he said in a serious tone, "You can put your head on my shoulder and rest."

"Uh .. what .... no ...." Anastasya stammered, "I .. can't."

Very late. Alex gently pushed her head against her wide shoulders.

Ok, it was strange but very comfortable at the same time, Anastasya thought as she closed her eyes.

"Hmm" he sighed casually unintentionally. Alex chuckles.

Anastasya felt very embarrassed so she had to laugh as well. Their laughter halted gradually and Alex put her cheek over Anastasya's head. He then wrapped his arms around the woman's body so that she would not feel cold. They remained like that for a very long time, watching the drizzle together, not knowing that tomorrow it would all be over.

It's all gonna end!
