Alex was lying in the middle of the fire while smoke surrounded him. He could barely breathe, his eyes began to close, flames were about to approach him.
"Cancel the mission!" Alex imagined hearing someone shouting from a distance; the voice of the commander.
His eyes opened and then closed slowly, as if in slow motion he could see everything in his mind right now. Kind of like a war scene.
Alex could hear gunshots. The soldiers ran and shouted. The bomb around him exploded. It was the latest mission he did and all that then happened. That unbearable sound, the explosion that seemed to drive him crazy, the sound that almost damaged his ears, and the tremors that caused his entire body to tremble.
Now he fainted, heard a loud bang, very loud.
His eyes suddenly opened at the next moment and he felt himself being carried away from the flames. What the hell's going on? Is he in his unit? No, some people dressed in white took her away.
"Alex?" one of them said while looking at him carefully.
Then, Alex was told to sit on the green grass, away from the reach of the fire.
"Are you okay?" jason's doctor asked. Alex knows the guy. It was the doctor Jason who was kneeling beside him.
Alex began to analyze everything he had just experienced. So that was the case, he felt like he was out of an unknown dimension. He felt like he had just returned from his imaginary war mission. And now, he felt fine back, he felt all his thoughts return like before.
"I ...." he started whispering and he looked at the doctor, "Everything is clear now, I ..."
"The expression on your face told me ...," the doctor began with a smile, that you came back, Letda Alex Ardiansyah Samuel, you recovered and you know, you made it so difficult for us." The two men grinned, but Alex quickly started coughing.
"All right!" the doctor raised his voice, looking at the other doctors, "Help me bring him inside. He's inhaling too much smoke."
The other doctors get together and help Jason's doctor remove Alex with extreme caution. They then went to the building.
Meanwhile in Anastasya's room..
Anastasya dreams of the events that Alex experienced.
Alex lay there, between the fires burning alone with no one to help him. "Alex!" Anastasya shouted, "wake up, please! You can't die." Anastasya said, but the fire kept burning bigger and bigger.
"Alex doesn't exist?" Anastasya screeched as she woke up.
"What's going on, where's Alex?"he whispered to himself in panic. He suddenly felt dizzy and very weak and felt very strange. Anastasya slowly realizes that she is in a bed, a hospital bed.
"Good night," someone suddenly greeted in a sweet voice. That's Lisa, the nurse.
The nurse smiled at him and sat down. "It's night now." she explained.
"What?" Anastasya.
"And I have good news for you" he smiled.
"What's that?" Anastasya asked quickly, his heart rate increasing every second, "Is this about Alex? Did something happen to her, Lisa? But you said it was good news, Tell me."
"Hey, calm down," Lisa said as she patted him on the shoulder, "You don't need to stress. Everything's fine."
"OK," Anastasya said as she took a deep breath, "Now, tell me."
"Listen to Anastasya," he began, "You fell unconscious when you saw Alex fall between the flames. You spend all day regaining consciousness, it's because you're overstressed that causes you to faint. Don't worry I've given you some vitamins. You need to rest, okay? Now, I don't know how and why but the explosion had a positive effect on Alex's mind. I think he remembers the war, well that's what he told us. Recollecting all those moments in his mind and guess what ..... "
"What?" Anastasya whispers.
"She looks fine now," she beamed, "She's healthy again Anastasya, just like before. He's like any other guy in general, you should have seen him talk. Like a healthy and authoritative captain. But don't worry, he's very friendly to everyone. His boss came and told us that the Alex he knew was back. Alex is very happy and everyone is happy too. "
Anastasya was happy too. Alex is finally healed. But there were two words that kept popping into his mind and Anastasya felt extremely scared every time he thought about it.
'Another man' he's another man like the one he previously knew.
Is that something he should be worried about? No, not at all. The fact that she was fine didn't mean she wouldn't be able to recognize him or refuse to be his friend, right?
"I want to see it. Can I go?" Anastasya asked, looking desperate.
"No way,"
"Oh come on," Anastasya whined, "Please ..."
"OK," Lisa smiled, "But be careful! Don't run and don't push yourself too hard."
"Okay, thanks Lisa!" he smiled at her.
"Go away," he said, "He's in the meeting room."
"OK," Anastasya flinched and immediately left.
