Ep. 13

"What?" Nurse Lisa said, "Huh? A surprise party for him? After everything he did to me, yelled at me the other day! No, no, thank you!.

"Ahh. come on," Anastasya smiled with a cute face, "You can't do that, it's her birthday."

"no!" he crossed his arms and looked away.

Doctor Jason celebrated his birthday the next day and Anastasya thought that planning a surprise birthday for him would be perfect. Alex is going to have fun just like the Doctor. This was the only solution he could do to bring a smile back to the soldier's face even more, he believed that his doctor deserved such a celebration, he was a good person.

"Look at Nurse Lisa," Anastasya began in a mindful tone, "if I don't have the support of the staff, I'll never be able to manage anything."

The nurse looked at him.

"Ohh come on.." Anastasya sighed, "you can't be mad at him for the rest of your life, you'll break his heart. You know, he can't live without you."

"What?" Nurse Lisa laughs, "Anastasya, it doesn't make sense, you are. ahh silly."

"... and your face flushed red," Anastasya continued with a mischievous smile.

Anastasya moved her eyebrows upwards and Lisa laughed and turned red.

"OK okay!" finally he accepted, "only because you asked for it."

"sure," Anastasya rolled her eyes and laughed.

The mission was accomplished, he thought triumphantly.

"Hey, Alex!" Anastasya waved at Alex who was in the corner of the bench alone, his eyes full of sadness.

"Alex," she smiled and sat down beside him. Alex did not respond and looked about to cry.

"Alex.." whispered Anastasya as she touched his arm but quickly Alex distanced himself from the move.

"Arrrghhh!" he growled, as he pushed his hand away violently and stood up. After that, Alex started throwing all the flower pots around him to the ground.

"Stop! Stop that!" Anastasya is horrified but Alex does not hear it.

His face flushed with anger and did not know what to do to relieve his frustration. Alex begins to roll over the wooden tables and chairs in anger and no words of Anastasya can stop him.

Upon hearing an angry cry, the doctor quickly rushed towards them and grabbed Alex's arm. With great difficulty, they managed to calm him down and took him away. Alex was still trying to escape their clutches, but his efforts were in vain. Alex seemed to be overwhelmed with unbearable pain. He struggled with all his might to get out of their grip but the result also remained unsuccessful.

It was a very wrong way to let out her frustration, Anastasya thought when Anastasya saw them taking her away while she cried and shouted.

"Alex.." whispered as tears flowed down his cheeks.

Anastasya went to see him after a few minutes later, as the doctors were busy treating him earlier. As he entered the room, he saw her lying on the bed. It looked somewhat relaxed, yet his eyes were still filled with tears.

"Alex," he said calmly as he went to sit on the chair next to the bed, "why are you doing this to yourself? You know, you can talk to me. I'm here for you. I care about you, I can't see you in that state."

"Why are you crying?" Alex whispers.

"I didn't cry" Anastasya said as she touched her face only to realize that her face was wet from her tears. A quiet room followed, she did not know what to say to him.

"Rest!" anastasya said slowly only to realize that she was asleep.

In the afternoon...

"OK," he said, "if you give up like this, nothing will happen. Come on."

After helping some nurses to put the decoration next to the window Anastasya went to look for Alex.

Surely he must have woken up by now, it had been over 2 hours since I left him with the doctor, he thought with much hope.

As Anastasya entered the room, he noticed that the staff looked exhausted. Some even seem frustrated.

"sorry Alex where"

"he's still lying in bed" a nurse replied, "i don't advise you to go and see him."

"why not?" Anastasya asked with a confused face.

"well." he started to get restless, "from the moment he woke up he started saying strange things. He's mad..."

"Oh no," Anastasya gasped at the thought of how he threw the flower pot.

"no, no!" The nurse quickly reassured him, but still seemed tense, "just angry, and so far rude to everyone."

It's starting to get a little confusing for Anastasya. So he decided to go and make sure of it himself.

"Okay, no problem. I'll go see him." Anastasya said as she walked towards the bed where Alex was lying.

"Alex?" he said hesitantly, waiting for his strange answer.

"Yes," Alex replied in a flat tone. Yes it's normal.

"What's wrong? You think my name is funny? Is that why you want to say it out loud?" Alex suddenly said as he glared at her, "don't think your name is too good, my name is better than yours. And stop looking at me like you've never seen me before."

Anastasya's eyes were wide open at the comment he just said. Uggh!

"Why are you acting weird?" he asked with a cross eyebrow.

"You think I'm an actor? You think I'm..." Alex replied in the same angry tone, "actually I can be an actor. I don't think you can be an actress, actually you don't even have that kind of talent"

"Hey," Anastasya cried, feeling offended.

"by the way," he shrugged as Alex sat on the bed, "do you have no other job you can do? Oh yes, just by looking at your face, I can see that you are an unemployed."

"Alex!" Anastasya said as she took a deep breath, "this joke is too far away.."

"you think I'm a criminal?" Alex raised his eyebrows, "even if I were a criminal, I would never share my jokes with you."

"what's wrong with him?" Anastasya cried, looking at the doctors, "What is this... will he go back to normal again?"

"why?" The captain said in a loud tone, "you think I'm not normal? Do I look like a stranger to you?"

"he will.." one of the doctors said with a nod, "it may take a few days.."

"so let me get this straight, I'll have to make some rude comments for a few days," Anastasya thought as she looked at the man in front of her in shock.
