Be My Soldier Forever

Be My Soldier Forever
Ep. 47

"Darling, you're home." Anastasya said with a faint smile. Frans walked towards his mother who was lying on the bed.

"Mom? What the hell happened to you? Is this some kind of joke?"

"Mom hope so."

"Bbb .." Frans' voice broke. Vania knew Frans would be crying soon.

"Mom has a brain tumor."

"What's? No, not mom, no. Stop lying. Mom's healthy, mom's fine, it's all a joke, let's go home and chat things up and have dinner together.Mom's fine." Frans knows that her mother is not okay, but she tries to keep believing that she is okay.

"You're right. Mom is fine. It's not a big deal."

"How long have you had a brain tumor?"

"About 4 months."

"And you never told me? Why did you do that?"

"Mom just doesn't want you to overreact and worry too much."

"So how badly does the tumor affect the mother?"

"Not too bad."

"Can it be healed?"

"Mom's not sure yet."

"So, if it's not that bad, what are you doing here?"

"They, uh .." Anastaysa looked at Vania for help.

"bad." Vania says. Frans looked at Vania.

"How bad?"

"She .. can't .. she's very hard to walk."

"What do you mean?"

"Mom is very weak."

"No, ma'am .." Frans started crying. "You should go home. Why can't we just take care of you at home?"

"Mom's very hard to breathe at home."

"Then we have to how? Why didn't you tell me Vania?!?" Vania just shut up. "I told you everything, Vania. Everything! I told you how Jonathan died, how his wife got pregnant! I've said everything I've natural! How can you?!? You have so much heart."

"I want to tell you ..but. I..-"

"But I didn't let him tell you." Anastasya raised his voice.

"Why not, Mom?"

"Much has happened. You fight for our country. I don't want to give you anything more to worry about."

"I worry about you every day! I don't mind if you tell me the truth. Frans just wanted to hear it!"

"I just ..."

"I can't trust you." Frans rushed out.

Frans couldn't trust them. Frans was very angry. How could they hide this from him? It's a big deal. What if something happens to him and Frans doesn't even know. Their actions are wrong if they take this away from him, but even more wrong if they have to just leave. Vania chased. He found Frans walking out of the parking lot.

"French!" He did not stop, and continued walking. Vania ran after him and grabbed his wrist. "French!." He's stopped.

"Take me off, Vania."

"Frans, stop. Calm down." Frans turned.

"Quiet?!? Calm down? How can I calm down? My mom was in a hospital bed with a brain tumor for 4 months and I didn't even know it! You should have told me!"

"I wanted. I want the skali to tell you. But mother. We. don't want you to worry too much. It will bother you and you can get yourself killed! Do you think we want it? We want you to stay alive. I want you to live! "

"That's no problem. But you should have told me."

"Your life is very important. It will be harder for your mother to stay strong because there is no purpose to stay alive if you die. Example me. I gave up on life even Bram doesn't have a role model anymore. But, there you are. You are our role model."

"The whole country admires me! Do you know how hard it is for me? I hate myself if I have to disappoint my mother, you, or Bram, especially now, I could have let this whole country down. I don't want that."

"If it's so hard for you, you can abandon your desire to be a soldier.."

"I know, but I don't want to. I can't. L like it. I like what I can do. Because it can make me protect mom, Bram, and especially you, to stay safe."

"Frans, please go back inside. I know you're very upset that we didn't tell you, but your mother needs you. You are the one who made it to stay strong. Please, stay there for her." Vania stuck out her hand. Frans just looked down. "Please, Frans." He slowly raised his hand and clasped his hand. Vania smile. "Come on." They walked back into the hospital; frans' mother's room. When they entered, Anastasya smiled widely. They walked towards Anastasya and Frans held her mother's hand.

Frans fell asleep in the chair next to his mother. Then he woke up and looked at his mother's sleeping face. Anastasya. Vania went into the room with two cups of coffee. She smiled at Frans and then walked up to him.

“How do you feel?” Vania asked as she handed over the coffee in her hand.

“Good, but I still have to take care of some of mom's treatment files.”

“how long does it take to take care of it?” Vania sat in the chair next to Frans.

“I'll be right back, Vania.”

“Where are you going, Frans?”

“I want to go talk to doctor.” Frans got up and left the room.

Frans walked up to the reception desk and asked a middle-aged woman where she could meet the doctor who handled her mother. After the middle-aged woman told her where she could find the doctor who was handling her mother, Frans dragged her feet towards the elevator. He tried his best to hold on to that hope. He didn't want to lose the only family he had right now. No matter what happens as long as he can still be with her. Her mother was her best friend all along, she couldn't just lose it.

Frans walked into a room and knocked. The doctor heard the voice of the person calling him.

“Log.”

“Dr. Albert?” Frans asked.

“Iya, it's me.” A middle-aged man looked up from his desk.

“Hai, I'm Frans A. Samuel, son of Anastasya's mother.”

“Ah, yes. I've heard a lot about you. Please sit.” Frans sat down and Dr. Albert got up from his chair.

“Before you say anything, I want to thank you for fighting for our Country.” He said while pointing to Frans' suit. Frans looked at his uniform. He's a little proud of himself. He finally achieved his dream, but he felt like he was missing something.

“Thank you, Doc. By the way, I'm not here to talk about myself, but I'm here to talk about my mother. How bad is my mother?” Frans was very curious about the real situation.

“He has a brain tumor. It wasn't too bad before, but the longer the condition got worse. Sorry about me.”

“How can it happen?” Frans held back her tears.

“The tumor is spreading rapidly, sometimes this can happen suddenly. But the good news, this type of tumor that comes out of nowhere most likely it can be eliminated.”

“Do doctors mean, the tumor could be gone? Frans almost jumped out of his chair.

“Ya, sure. But I'm not sure it can be cured or not.”

“When can I bring it home? Frans wanted her mother at home and did not want her mother in the hospital.

“Your mother's condition is still very weak at the moment, but we've given her the cure and she'll feel even better. Maybe in about a week. But son, you must be proud of your mother, she remains strong through all this, even without you by her side. But with you here, you should always give him motivation to keep him strong. He did not want to give up, even though the pain was overwhelming.

“I know. I'll stay by his side, no matter what. Please, make sure he stays healthy.” Her voice softened.

“I will do my best, as best as I can.”

“Thank you, doctor.” Frans got up from the chair.

“Wait, has your mother talked to you about the operation?”

“What operation?”

“Ok alright, sit down again.” Fans obey as doker watches him closely.

“What operation doctor?” Frans asked in confusion.

“He can be operated to stop the spread of tumor tissue, but he does not want to do it.”

“Why not? Isn't that way going to cure it, so let's do it.”

“He was afraid because there was a high possibility that if the operation took place he would, ummmm.”.

“Death?” Frans could barely say anything.

“Yes. I'm really sorry.”

“Please do whatever you can, as long as he can survive. I want him to stay alive.”

“Of course.” Frans looked down and walked out.

He could not accept all the facts he had just known. He looked at the men's toilet and ran over there. Fortunately, there was no one in it. He looked at the mirror and tears began to wash over his face. He rubbed his hair and mondar mndir. He looked back at the mirror and opened the water faucet. He splashed water on his face several times. He closed the water faucet then looked back at the mirror again, and wiped his face. An old man came in. Frans quickly tried to hide his crying face.

“It's okay, son. I'm also here to do that too.” The old man was blessed.

“Do what?” Frans tried to act as if nothing had happened.

“Crying. Slowly my wife's condition began to decline. And I can't do anything..What are you here for?”

“Ibuku. He had a brain tumor for the last 4 months and I just found out, he didn't want to have surgery because there was a chance he could die, his condition was getting weaker, very weak and I can only Frans started crying again. The man hugged her. “She's the only family I have currently here, who hasn't left me. I can't let him leave me.”

“Sst, it's okay.” Frans hugged the man back.

“I know, it won't happen,”

“Your mother is very strong, she can get through all this.”

“How can you know?”

“Every woman is strong, they are even stronger when they have a special man in her life. You are his most special boy.”

“I'm sorry about your wife.”

“Do not. He'll pass through.”

“What's with him?”

“She was burning, very badly on her body. Our house was on fire and I was away at work. I ran to the hospital and left my job. I love her so much, and will always be there for her, no matter what. Because that's what love is like.” The old man let go of his embrace and placed his hand on Frans' shoulder. “Don't give up, Son.” The man walked out on Frans alone. Frans looked back at himself in the mirror.

“I won't give up.” He said before walking back to his mother's room.
