“Bu.” Frans sat next to his mother.
“Yes, darling? What's up?” Anastasya grabbed Frans' hand and said to him.
“I love you, Ma'am.” Anastasya smiled, his first smile since he knew he had a brain tumor. He put one of his hands on Frans' face.
“Frans also love mom.” very much Doctor in.
“Bu, how are you feeling today?” Doctor asked.
“Very good.” He looked at Frans.
“This must be your son.”
“Nice to meet you, Doctor.” Frans got up from his chair and shook the doctor's hand.
“Christian.”
“It's nice to meet you, Dr. Christian.”
“Happy to meet you too.”
“So, Doc, how's my mom doing?”
“Yah was better than yesterday, but unfortunately it will not make his brain tumor disappear. Can I talk to you, alone?”
“Ya, of course doctor.” Frans and Dr. Christian came out of the room.
“There's bad news.”
“What is a doctor?” Frans is not sure if he can handle the bad news anymore.
“I want, you know that Dr. Albert and I did everything we could, but it wasn't enough.”
“What do you say this?”
“Your mother doesn't have much time.”
“What?” Frans' voice broke.
“Sorry, Son. We're doing everything we can, but we can't seem to beat your mother's tumor, which is already in an advanced stage. Your mother is strong, but not enough to beat her. The tumor has spread everywhere, I'm sorry.” Frans almost fell backwards in shock.
“How long time does he have?” Frans tried to ask.
“Around, another month or two. We're not sure yet, but we'll do everything we can to keep him alive. So not sure, but I just want to warn you that he might not have much time.”
“Can I, at least just take him home? To spend time with her?”
“Ya, but another week.”
“Of course.” Frans walked back to the room. She had already done her best to hide her pain, but Vania knew it.
“Frans? Is everything okay?” Vania asked.
“Ummm, Well sure.” Thank goodness, Dr. Christian comes to his rescue from Vania's question.
“Sorry, you guys have to get out. I have to do some tests on Ms. Anastasya.”
“Good. Mom, we'll be back.” Anastasya smiled. Vania and Frans leave the hospital together. They were sitting in the car, but Frans wasn't driving.
“Frans, is everything okay?” Frans did not answer. “Frans?”
“Hah? Well? Why?” He blinked his eyes.
“Is everything okay?” His eyebrows rose to form a worried expression.
“Yeah, there's nothing.” Tears flowed down his cheeks. “My book is dying.” She started crying. Vania hugged him, she put her head on his shoulder. “Dr.Christian said that my mother may have one or two months of life expectancy. It's okay.” She kept crying. Vania couldn't think of any words to say. “What can I do?” He looked.
“Well, we'll spend a lot of time with him. At least he told you so you have a chance to say goodbye.”
“But I don't want to say goodbye.”
“I know, no one knows.” They sat there for a few minutes. Frans has calmed down a little.
“I should not cry. I must be strong to face all this.”
“Frans, you are strong. You are strong. Your mother is dying, there's no harm in you crying. Sometimes crying sign that you are strong.”
“How's Vania? How! My mother was lying in a hospital bed and she only had a month or two to survive! I really don't care, whether I'm strong or not! All I care about is that he has to heal, he can't die. This is not the time for him to leave.!” Frans clenched his hand and hit the wheel of the car.
“Let's go home.” He started the car engine and they went to Frans' house. When they got home, Frans looked around. “I miss this place.”
“This house is empty without you.”
“You don't know, how much I miss you.” Frans turned to Vania. He walked closer to her and stretched out his hand on her saddle.
“Well, I miss you a lot too,”
“No. I'm sure not.” Frans kissed. “ I missed a kiss on your lips.” Frans whispered. He then kissed her eyelids. “And your beautiful eyes.” Then Frans kissed her cheek.” And your cheeks are chubby.”
“My cheeks are not Chubby.”
“If that's what you think,” Vania smiled, “She raised her legs around her waist and arms around her neck. Frans kisses her and Vania starts laughing. “And I miss your beautiful laughter.” Frans lowered Vania gently on her bed and stroked her again. For a moment he stopped and Frans looked into his eyes. He could not believe how lucky he was. He has the girl of his dreams in his hands. And he was his dream. He couldn't believe how crazy Frans was about Vania. Vania just smiled and kissed him.
The thought in Frans' mind right now was just his mother. Smile disappeared. Vania put her hand on her face, Frans looked at her. Vania smiled as well as Frans, returning her smile.
“don't think too much about it.” Vania says.
“Only, my life would not be complete without my mother.”
“For example my mother died one day, I felt as if someone stabbed me in the chest. And there you are there to heal that wound. Van, ohya I forgot to buy Bram a present for his birthday. Maybe it's better I buy him his favorite football shirt. Ok I go first, I'll be quick back.” Frans then kissed Vania's cheek. Vania didn't even get a chance to say something to him. “You have a chance that no one else has. You have a chance to say goodbye and if that happens, I hope you tell my mom that I love her so much, and I don't want her to leave. Because, it is very difficult for myself to say it to himself.” Frans remained silent for a few minutes. He wrapped his hands around his waist, and lay there.
“AKu don't want him to go.” Her eyes were fixed on the wall as she tried not to cry.
“I know.”they were silent for a few minutes, and just lay there.
“Van?”
“Yes, Frans?”
“Did your father ever come back?” Vania remained silent. Frans sat. “Van?” Vania avoided his gaze.
“No.” Loud voice.
“I'm sorry, Van.” Frans hugged him tightly.
“Do not inquire about him again. I haven't seen him in 2 years. I don't care about him anymore.” Vania br spoke in an angry tone. He knew that all he had to do was not care anymore, even though his feelings were still quite painful.
“You don't need it anymore?”
“Yah, sure. I don't need it anymore.”
“How can Bram survive without him?”
“Bram is busy with his football world. He did everything so as not to think about father anymore. He wants to focus on getting a scholarship. But I hate myself so much for not being able to pay for his needs. You know, now he's the captain of his team. She was completely the opposite of me in my old school days. She's like you.” Vania smiled at the last word she said.
“Ohya, did he never make any trouble or anything?”
“Ya sure, she did the best thing.”
“Well, he will follow in my footsteps.” Frans smiled.
“Iya.” Vania laughed, “ But you know what has worried me all this time? He often quarrels with his friends. And if he does it again, he will be removed from the football team.”
“What is he fighting?” Frans furrowed his brows, showing a worried expression.
“No, but I think he did it because he wanted to let go of his anger. He's very angry at my dad and he's trying to take everything out on people. At that time he saw a boy was disturbing a girl, and he tried to save the forger. He fought with the boy. But they're not hurt.”
“I'll get it done.”
“Perhaps preferably.”
“Trust me Van, I will try to remove the anger from within him that.” Vania kissed.
“Thank you.”
“She is now where?”
“Maybe sleeping.” Vania looked at her watch.
“Hur afternoon? She's just like me.” Frans chuckled and got up. He wears his shorts and jeans. Then put on his shirt and sneakers.
“Where do you want to go?”
“Meeting Bram.” Frans got into the bathroom and came out 10 minutes later. He looked at Vania. Then kissed vania's forehead. “I'll be back later.” He walks out of his house and onto the porch of Vania's house.
