Ep. 45

As soon as Frans was on the plane, he was told some things he needed to know.

 

"Welcome to the future soldiers." Said captain. "First we'll go to Fort Knox south of Louisville. You will be training there for a year,” Frans still hears without emotion, but deep down, he wants to shout at the captain that he wants to see Vania. But he knows, he can't. Because this is what he wants. "In the meantime, you will be given tasks that you must complete. Anyone who is unable to undergo this training will be sent back home. What did I just say was clear?"

 

"Ready sir." All the soldiers said.

"Harder!" Captain ordered.

"Ready sir!" They all scream.

"Okay, thank you all. Good luck." The captain sat down and Frans looked around.

 

There are quite a lot of women and men. Some men his age were there too.

"Hey, I'm Jonathan." Frans looked at the person next to him. He stretched out his hand to shake. Jonathan has light skin with spots on his nose. Her blond hair protruded from her brown eyes.

"I'm Frans." He said while shaking his hand.

"So how old are you?"

“18 years."

"I'm 19 years old."

"So this isn't your first time taking this training?"

"yeah. I've been in the army for a year, the captain says this is one way I can get back to base, and this is my last assignment. I just came back to visit my wife."

"Do you have a wife? But you're young."

"When you become a soldier, it won't be a problem, you have to think like a man. I don't know what can happen to me, and I love him. So I married her, it made me feel better because I knew she was mine." Hearing what Jonthan had just said, Frans thought of Vania. "Do you have a wife?"

 

"Umm. No."

"Daughter?"

"Not really, but, when I get back from this training I'm gonna make her my girlfriend." Frans smiled.

"Oh so. Didn't my story just make any sense to you."

"Little bit. But, before I left, I told the most important person in my life that I loved him so much."

"Did he also reply to your statement?

"Yes. Of course."

"That's great."

"Yes, but I didn't hear him say I love you back."

 

"Then what's the point?"

"I'm saying it because I just want to make sure that she has to know how I feel."

"You really love that woman, don't you?"

"More than you can imagine."

"Well, the plan is so. I'm just worried she'll turn me down."

"Why should he refuse, doesn't he love you right?"

After a few minutes, Jonathan spoke up. "Don't stress over it. Right now, women should be the last thing on your mind. You're here to protect this country and keep yourself alive." Frans nodded. He has to stay alive.

 

4 months later….

 

It was the first day Vania got a letter from Frans. He was excited as always. He is also happy because they can only talk to each other after 4 months now. That drives him crazy.

 

*Dear Vania, please,

I'm disappointed, you never told me and sent me a letter for four months. I miss you so much, I miss you so much. Here I met someone during my flight. Name's Jonathan. Vaania could not wipe the smile off her face. "I love you too." She whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks and falling on the paper. He felt guilty for not sending anything, he couldn't. She knew that if she did, she had to accept the fact that Frans left her when she needed her most.

Vania runs to Anastasya's house.

"Anashasya!"

"Yes?"

"Frans sent a letter. She said she told me to put a hug and kiss on her and she missed and loved you so much." Anastasya's eyes began to water.

"How is he doing?"

"She said, she's fine and she has a lot of friends there."

"That's great."

"Yes, I'll return the letter."

"Yes reply. Can you tell her that I miss her a lot and love her a lot too and I hope she's okay?"

"Of course, I'll say it."

"Thank you." Vania nodded and walked back to her house.

Arriving at home. He picked up a paper and pen and started writing.

 

*Frans darling,

I'm sorry that for the last 4 months I've never sent you a letter, I didn't have the courage to send it to you. Because I still don't want to believe that you're really gone. Sorry I'm not as brave as you think. I'm so glad I got this letter from you. I miss you so much. Your mother said she misses you too, and loves you. He hopes you're okay. I love you too. One week later, Frans received a letter from Vania. They are both in different countries. Frans took the letter and went into his tent and opened the letter and began to read it. He finished reading with a smile on his face, then he picked up his pen and started writing.
