The Hate That Ends Marriage

The Hate That Ends Marriage
Contrition

Both of them looked at Widya, feeling surprised she could read their minds. After recovering, they answered his question.

“We are curious, but I don't want you to feel uncomfortable. So, we are waiting for you to speak first about the gossip. Fortunately, as I thought you were quick to respond." A sneer formed on Mila's lips, like a child who had gotten her wish.

"So? Is the rumor true?” ask Ririn.

“Which rumor was it, yesterday or this morning? If the gossip this morning is true, but the gossip yesterday was a lie. Wrong big.” Widya leaned her back on the chair, waiting for the response of the two.

“If about yesterday, I know it's a lie. Let alone the mastermind of that ridiculous gossip..” Mila's sharp glances led to Ririn who was astounding while forming a V sign in her fingers to Mila and Widya.

“Why did you do that?” widya asked, raising her next to the eyebrows.

Down staring at her hand, Ririn muttered, “Sorry, Brother. I just concluded what I saw. I thought I was right. Sorry.”

“Already, it's over. No need to think about it anymore. Anyway gossip today already covered it.” Widya flicked her hand in the air.

A smile of thanks to Ririn ignored Widya. He does not like to be considered a good person. He is used to the evil image that others always think of his personality.

“Honestly, I can't believe the gossip about you that I heard this morning. But, hearing from your own mouth if it's true, I don't know what to say.” Mila's puzzled look made Widya click her tongue.

“You just have to say like everyone else, that I'm rude. No need to hesitate, I'm used to hearing it.” The two looked pityfully at Widya.

"God, I'm not saying this to gain the mercy of you two. I don't care what other people think of me. If you come here just to pity me you better go home. I don't need anyone's mercy.”

“I know you're a good person, Wid. Take it easy, I'm not the kind of person who would stay away from someone just because of some bad gossip. Well, how about we just talk about something else? Forget that stupid gossip!” Mila clapped her hand to end the conversation.

“I just remembered. Does Widya know? Today Kak Mila was shot by Bang Jendi in front of her house. And, this has happened for the umpteenth time. Ciee, ciee, ciee.l,” seductive Ririn, nudging Mila with her hands.

“Aaan anyway, Rin. This is not something to be horrendous about!”

"I think it's interesting. So, did you accept it?” ask Widya. At least this conversation didn't bother him too much.

“Which I may accept. I told him I only thought of him as a friend. But he never understood.” Mila breathed in frustration.

“This is not because Mila likes Bang Radit, right?”

“Why do you think so?” Mila held her breath, surprised by the unexpected question.

“It wasn't just me who thought that, but everyone in this village knew Kak Mila liked Bang Radit. Even if it used to be.”

Mila breathed a sigh of relief.

“Of course, that was a long time ago. I don't like Radit anymore.”

“Then, why did Big Brother refuse Bang Joints?” search Ririn, like a cop interrogating a criminal.

“As I said earlier, I only consider him an ordinary friend. Feelings cannot be forced, Rin. For the size of SMP boy, you are too much curious.” Mila shook her index finger, reprimanding Ririn.

“I'm not a kid. What's wrong with wanting to know everything?" scowling Ririn.

The rest of the day they spent with endless chatter. When it was dusk, the two said goodbye to go home. Thankfully, today Widya's mood improved thanks to Mila and Ririn. It turns out that having friends in the village is not as bad as Widya thought.

***

Widya pulled her words yesterday. I regret having friends in this village. It all started when Mila took her for a walk in broad daylight to find some fresh air outside. Of course, Widya thought they would only walk for a while to see the scenery of this village.

Widya accepts to invite Mila because she is bored all day spending her time watching TV or lying in her bed while playing her useless phone.

It's free to have a cell phone as good as anything, but it can't be used for internet at all. The signal in this village is very bad, the phone can only be used for SMS and phone only.

Therefore, Widya without thinking long received Mila. Hope to get some fresh air as he says. It turned out that all he got was a body drenched in sweat.

Actually, where are they going?

Mila said the place they were heading to was close, but ten minutes had passed and they had not yet reached their destination. Resting herself in the shade of a shady tree, Widya refuses to continue her journey.

Taking off her mask violently, Widya put it in her jacket pocket. Then take off his jacket to be tied around his waist.

"Therefore, I'd have said earlier, that you would die of heat because of your jacket and mask. You didn't hear my warning. Come stand! Soon we will arrive," asked Mila, extending a hand to Widya to stay with her.

"Shortly, briefly, and briefly. But, it's been 10 minutes, and I still haven't seen anything. Where the hell are we going? My legs are too sore to walk again, Mila." Picking up a pebble on the ground, Widya threw it at just any place to vent her frustration.

"We're close. Go, Wid! Don't be so discouraged, "persuade Mila.

"alright. But, let me rest for a while. I need to take a breath and rest my achy legs. It's the longest trip I've ever had with both feet in my entire life. So, I hope you understand."

"All right." Mila sat down next to him, waiting patiently.

15 Minutes later..

Moving away from the rock she was sitting on, Widya was ready to continue their journey. I had to walk with Mila. It's embarrassing, but it's better than being out of breath with his jacket and mask. After all, in this village no one knew him too well. So, Widya need not be afraid of meeting old friends.

A fella? Ha! real funny. Since when do I have friends? What a stupid thought.

Momentary said by Mila it took 15 minutes more for them to get to the destination. Which is nothing but the site of Radit's father's enormous farm. Mila deliberately invited him here so that Widya made up with Radit because she knew that the two of them did not talk to each other again after the incident yesterday morning.

Riding where she stood, Widya refused to go through the fence to get inside. Widya pulled her hand rough from Mila's grasp.

"I'll just go home."

"Don't dong, Wid. You have to meet Radit to make up with him." Mila snatches Widya's hand to hold her away.

"I don't want to make up with him. If you force me, let's just end this stupid friendship" said Widya cynically so that Mila let go of her hand.

"Just let this whiny chick go, Mil. There's no way to be friends with him" said Radit, who was standing right behind him.

Giving her umbrella to Widya's hand, Mila quickly went away leaving them both to greet the workers who were inside.
