The Hate That Ends Marriage

The Hate That Ends Marriage
Consequences of Words

After returning from the market, Aya's grandmother was surprised to see her favorite granddaughter come home with red eyes and immediately ran into her room and locked the door. In fact, when asked what had happened his grandson did not answer at all. Poking an ear at the door, Aya's grandmother heard sobs submerged by pillows. It seems, Widya does not want others to know that she is crying.

Since childhood, her grandchildren rarely cry. He has a stubborn and spoiled nature. Both of his parents always fulfill whatever his wishes because he is a child. There must have been something bad out there until the granddaughter was sad like that.

Waiting on the porch of the house, Aya's grandmother looked agitated. He went back and forth, obviously thinking of something very serious. Maybe her abusive granddaughter has said something bad about Radit. Approaching Aya's grandmother, Radit was greeted with a look of relief. Examining from Aya's grandmother's expression, it seems Radit misjudged. Grandma Aya looks very pale. His limp feet made him almost sit on the floor but Radit held him back.

“Thank God you're back, Dit. Tell Grandma what happened? Why did Widya come home like that?”

“Like it how, grandma?” ask Radit wonder.

As Radit recalls, the last time he saw that rough woman he looked fine. Did something happen to her on the way home?

“Widya cries," replied Grandma Aya.

Radit almost let out a laugh out of disbelief. How could that heartless, rude woman be able to shed her tears. It was a very silly shadow in Radit's mind. But, seeing Aya's grandmother put on a worried look, Radit restrained himself. It's impossible for Grandma Aya to lie. Or maybe Grandma Aya saw it wrong.

This makes no sense because this morning Radit did not see a single tear from him even when he was scorned by everyone in the market. When Radit advises him about his rude attitude to the fishmonger, he does not seem to cry at all or when Radit says about his parents. Ah, wait a minute. If you remember, Widya turned her back then, was it possible that she was crying? Did Radit's words hurt her? Seems like. Radit really didn't expect her to be such a heartless, rude woman who could be hurt.

“Radit, replied to Grandma's question, what has happened with Widya?” aya's grandmother pulls Radit's sleeves up from her daydream.

“Actually this way, Grandma..” Radit tells what happened to Widya in the market without telling Widya about what she said. Radit wanted to ascertain for himself what was true about the crying caused by him.

By noon, Widya remained silent in the room. Although her grandmother had called her to eat, Widya just fell silent not answering and her grandmother nagged about the sick who would soon take care of the sick as well for refusing to eat.

Actually, Widya is starving but she doesn't want her grandmother to see Widya's eyes. It's all because of that fucking guy. If only his words were not as painful as that for Widya. Why did the man have to say something that disturbed Widya's conscience.

Honestly, Widya doesn't like to feel this fragile. If he finds out his words have made Widya cry, he will laugh at her. But, he won't know because he didn't see Widya's tears this morning.

In the afternoon, Widya came out of her room after her eyes were not too swollen anymore. His grandmother did not say anything to him, he remained engrossed in his spectacle.

Widya doesn't know if her grandmother knew about the incident at the market this morning. But, considering the gossip in this place was very quick to blow like a gust of wind, surely his grandmother already knew.

Maybe her grandmother's silence was because she knew Widya didn't want to talk about it. After eating, Widya intends to return to the room, but Mila's voice calling out to her from outside stops her steps.

Hahhh.maybe he came to discuss gossip today. Widya dragged her feet to open the door.

“Log in, Mil.” Widya invited Mila with the girl she invited.

“Nevent gone, Wid. Let's just talk on the porch. Today the weather is cool to be outside the house,” advice Mila who is already sitting on the terrace chair of her grandmother's house.

Widya sat down with them.

“Oh yes. Introduce Wid, this is Radit.”'s sister Ririn Ririn waved her hand at Widya introducing herself and extended her hand to shake hands. Widya welcomed her handshake while smiling as graciously as possible.

The thing Widya doesn't want right now is a reminder of the existence of the damn man who has made her moody today by his sharp reprimand. Her sister and her childhood friend were innocent of anything to her but they both made her re-imagine the bad events of this morning.

Putting drinks and snacks on the table to serve her grandson's friend, her grandmother thanked the two for coming to see her grandson.

“Yes geez. No need to bother, Grandma,” said Mila helped her grandmother put a drink cup on the table.

“Wah, what a coincidence. I'm hungry again.” Ririn plucked the biscuits in front of her enthusiastically.

“I can take care of my guest, Grandma. Grandma rest just so that she recovers quickly.” Widya pushed her grandmother's back slowly to get back into the house.

“So people are really sick. A little motion told to rest,” complained Grandma.

“Already do not bring, sick people should according.”

Approaching his two guests again, Widya ignored the cynical gaze and whispers of passers-by. Let them see that Widya is not affected in the slightest by the bad rumors about her.

Ririn choked from putting too many biscuits in her mouth at once. Patting her back, Mila nagged at Ririn's reckless nature.

Unlike her brother who always acts not too talkative unless needed to criticize someone's behavior, her sister Ririn is very chatty. When he opened his mouth, then anyone would find it hard to stop talking.

Almost half an hour Widya listened to their story without saying much, she just nodded small or smiled while oh.

Unable to hold himself back, Widya finally issued a question that had always wanted to be heard by the two people in front of her.

“Why didn't you two ask about gossip today? I know, you guys have been curious about the gossip since,” Widya said casually while sipping her drink.
