The Hate That Ends Marriage

The Hate That Ends Marriage
Question

Opening her eyes, Widya could only gawk at Radit. It was very different from his shadow. He did not expect Radit would give any praise for his attitude this afternoon. What the hell's been going on? It's strange, he thought confused. He watched Radit smile amusedly looking at his face, which certainly now looks like a fool.

"Are you right my husband?" widya asked in a very serious tone.

"Of course I'm your husband. Do I look like someone else to you?" ticklish answer.

Placing his palm on Radit's forehead, he touched his forehead as well. "Or maybe you're sick?" Frowning her forehead, Widya did not feel that her husband was in pain.

Pulling Widya's hand off her forehead, Radit distanced himself from her. His posture now looked serious again, his two hands were linked to the back of his body.

"I know that right now I look very strange to you." The quick nod of Widya made Radit throw an irritated look at her. "I'm not correcting your behavior to Ms. Leni this afternoon, but it's been a long time since I've been harboring dislike for Ms. Leni since she spread rumors that my father was having an affair with another woman out there."

"really? Worth it!" exclaim Widya loudly.

"Worthy what?"

"Had your father not scolded me. It turns out you have a bad history with Bu Leni" Widya explained.

"It wasn't my father who was exposed to such ridiculous rumors, but everyone in this village was once slandered by Bu Leni. Therefore, I warn you not to deal with him again" Radit said firmly.

"The first thing to look for is Ms. Leni, not me. All of a sudden he came, pretending to help me lift my clothes with a veiled intention to know our household affairs. It's very annoying behavior," Widya said upset.

"Next time don't get carried away with emotions like that. It's a shame to argue with someone older than you. Even though his attitude is so annoying, you have to hold yourself back so that events like today do not happen again" Radit said. "Worse yet, I heard you were almost fighting jontos. Holy hooch! How horrifying. Good thing the residents came to break you both up, too late maybe your legs that have begun to heal will be sprained again."

Widya. "I doubt I can hold myself back, if I ever see Bu Leni again. Of course I won't be fighting with him anymore because I promised your father, but I don't promise to be friendly with him."

"There's no harm in being friendly to people we hate, it won't kill you. As much as we hate someone, don't show so clearly your dislike."

"That's the same as hypocrisy. If you hate, yes, hate it. Why pretend to be nice in front of people we hate?" Crossing her legs, Widya leaned her body on the back of the sofa. "I'm not like you, who can still smile at people you hate."

Picking his tongue, Radit wiggled his index finger in front of Widya. "That's no hypocrite, my wife. I'm just being civilized to everyone, whether I hate that person or not. What's it about being rude to someone you hate makes you look better, right? Being honest is good, but there are some things that require you to be fake in front of others, not because you are a hypocrite, but because you are a civilized person."

"So you mean, I'm not civilized? Is that so, my Husband is Right?"

"I'm not saying that" elak Radit, showing an innocent face.

Squinting her eyes, Widya shook her index finger just like Radit had done to her. "Don't lie, Husband. Your innocent-looking ass can't fool me."

Shaking his shoulders, Radit turned their conversation to something else. "Look at your feet are healing." His eyes were fixed on Widya's crossed legs.

"It's good that your tactics are trying to divert the conversation" Widya said.

Holding her crossed legs, Widya grimaced slightly as she slowly lowered her to the floor. His eyes stared hard at Radit, pleading for understanding from him if his legs had not healed completely.

"I'm not too sure my leg condition has completely improved, my husband."

"Your acting doesn't work for me. Just do what is your job!"

"Cih, you mean husband," Widya murmured.

Crossing his hands together, Radit stared resentfully at him. "I'm not cruel, I'm just reminding you to do your job. Didn't we agree to it? So, stop being so spoiled by asking for my help all the time. I need a break too."

"Yes, yes, yes," Widya said, not caring about Radit's babble. "I'm hungry" he continued, standing up from where he sat.

"Why are you hungry every time I talk to you? Does my face always remind you of food?"

"It's not. Your mischief is, for some reason, always starving my stomach" Widya replied, smiling sweetly.

The answer was only to make Radit even more annoyed at him. Touching the bend of his neck, Radit muttered, If soon it is possible that he will be affected by a stroke by Widya's annoying behavior. Swallowing her laugh at the grunt, Widya walked cheerfully behind her husband.

***

The next morning, Radit is shocked to find Widya has woken up from her sleep when she finishes dressing in her room to leave for work.

What did his wife do this early? Why was he sitting pensively on the sofa staring out the window?

Crossing the room, Radit walked over to Widya in the living room. The sound of his footsteps may have been heard by Widya, because his wife's gaze had now turned to her. Standing before him, Radit turned to the window his wife had been staring at. Maybe something has caught his eye out there, Radit thought.

Nothing strange happened outside their home. He only saw a few neighbors, who as usual always do their morning routine.

Then what did Widya see so seriously?

"What do you think, Dit? Why are you frowning like that?" widya asked, shrugging her head in wonder.

Turning his head, Radit knitted his two eyebrows together. "The one who should ask is me. What was it you saw so seriously out there?" askalanya.

Tapping her finger on the arm of the chair, Widya was pensive as before.

"I was just thinking, are all of you in this village always used to walk." He looked back to see the view outside. "I see that everyone in this village is always on foot every time they go to work. Do you have a vehicle that can be used? Especially you, isn't your father among the richest people in this village? Surely he bought you a vehicle so you could easily go to work. Anyway I still remember how clearly your farm is from here." His question mark-filled gaze was directed at Radit.
