This afternoon Widya had decided she would go alone to the book house to return all the books she had borrowed. Although there was actually another intention he went to the book house—in addition to returning his books—that is, he hoped to meet with Gilang there.
Since his meeting with Gilang last night at his home, Widya has been determined to speak with Gilang in one eye. Therefore, he really hopes today Gilang will be in the book house. He was very angry to know the reason why Gilang deliberately went to his house to tease him about their secret meeting in the book house.
How dare that damn guy play with my fear in front of Radit directly. Just watch if I see you, I'll take him to his roots.
Clenching quickly approached the door of the book house that was wide open from a distance, Widya was impatiently again vent all her anger on Gilang— whom she assumed was at the book house now— her footsteps widened as she began to approach the book house.
Standing in the doorway, Widya entered the book house slowly. His head looked to the left and to the right, looking for the whereabouts of the person he was looking for. He was a little confused to find no one there. It's weird, if there's no one in here then why is the door open? His brain thought hard thinking about that strange thing.
Standing pensively thinking about that, a hand patted her on the shoulder from behind. Too shocked, Widya reflexively swung the bag she was carrying to hit someone who shocked her from behind.
Blocking Widya's blow with his arm, Gilang grimaced in pain feeling the pile of books hitting him being swung so strongly towards her.
"Aw! It hurts so much," ringis Gilang, clasping his arm that felt pain. "For a little guy like you, your punch is beyond belief."
Dropping the bag containing all the books he had hit Gilang earlier, Widya covered her mouth with both hands. His eyes widened in shock at the result of his hit on Gilang's arm. However, his surprise soon recovered, replaced by a look of blame plastered on his face when staring Gilang.
"Your own fault appears suddenly from behind me, I'm just defending myself. Where did you show up? The feeling when I came in was that there was no one in here. Even if you were from the outside, I would have heard the sound of your footsteps walking closer." While saying that, Widya's eyes glanced down, she saw Gilang standing before her barefooted.
Looking up at the two Gilang eyes so sharply, Widya threw an annoyed look at him. Dipping his head, he saw Gilang's shoes barking limp beside the door that opened. That's when he realized that since then Gilang must have been watching him from behind that door.
"Have you been hiding out there watching me?" point Widya using her head, then her eyes stare back at Gilang. "Or you knew I was coming here from the beginning, so you purposely hid there to scare me, did you?"
Gilang just extended an apology smile to Widya, then went to take her shoes for her to put on again.
"After our meeting last night I had expected you to come here, so when I heard the sound of footsteps approaching I immediately quickly hid. I have no intention of scaring you, because I know you're not a coward." Gilang glanced at the horror story books that scattered out of Widya's bag. "I just wanted to surprise you, but who would have thought you would react horribly like that."
As he said that, Gilang twirled his wrist, as if making sure his bones were not broken by the impact. Exasperated by the indirect insinuation, Widya crouched down to pick up all her falling books while muttering apologetically.
Suddenly Gilang crouched down to help him pick up the book. "I don't hear you."
"I'm sorry" Widya sighed. "No need to help me! I can do it myself, "the rough pull of the book Gilang picked up.
"Why is your attitude so rude to me? Have I made a mistake or are you still angry by my actions that surprised you earlier? If that's true, I'm sorry, I won't repeat it."
Lifting all the books that had fallen with her bag, Widya stood up and walked to the small table by the window to put all the books there. Then he turned to face Gilang, who was standing still in his place, waiting for Widya's answer to her question patiently.
"Both?" tanya Gilang was a bit confused.
"Yes, both. First, you made the mistake of teasing me last night. Second, today you deliberately surprised me, and honestly I really don't like both of those things." Tucking a strand of her hair that fell behind her ear, Widya continued her words, "I don't know what you mean pretend you didn't know me in front of Radit last night, well, even though I did too anyway, but still I do not like your pretentious attitude to be secretive with me. If you do that again, I will unreservedly tell Radit about you teasing me in this book house. Don't you think I kept this a secret from Radit for fear that he might get mad at me, I did so that your friendship with my husband wouldn't be tenuous."
Well, it's done! Now let's see what this familiar snob would say to me in order to defend himself.
"Tell me. I didn't do anything wrong, I just did what I wanted. I admit from the beginning we met I was already interested in you, but at that time I thought you were one of the girls from this village. I didn't think you were Radit's wife, who was often heralded by everyone as the snobbish brute girl from the city."
"How could you possibly think I was one of the girls from this village?" widya said in a tone of disbelief, then she remembered the clothes she was wearing that day. "ah! That shirt."
"Yes, that shirt" said Gilang nodding his head.
"It's funny that you mistook me as one of the girls from this village just because of that tacky dress." Widya chuckled, the lightning of her eyes shining witfully. "Let's just say, forget about our silly meeting. Let's just say it never happened, there's no point in bringing it up to Radit. Telling him would only lead to misunderstanding."
"agreed. Then, we're at peace?" Gilang extended his hand as a sign of peace.
Glancing doubtfully at the helping hand, Widya walked slowly closer to Gilang. "Okay, deal."
Smiling widely, Widya immediately pulled her hand when she realized Gilang did not want to let go of her grip as quickly as possible.
"It is not good to shake hands with you too long, later the people who see will misunderstand," Widya said in a slightly joking tone.
"I can't help myself."
"You mean?" Both Widya's eyes narrowed suspiciously at Gilang. "Are you still interested in me?"
"Maybe," replied Gilang doubtfully.
"Yes or not? Don't avoid saying 'maybe' to me."
"Is that how important it is to you?"
Yes, it's important" Widya said, getting impatient.
Unfortunately, the answer that was so anticipated Widya was not able to say from the mouth of Gilang. Because Mila barged inside came to them both with a man unknown to Widya. Seeing the unspoken question in Widya's eyes, without further ado Mila immediately introduced the man to Widya.
