Waving her hair, Widya raised her chin haughtily at Radit who was glaring at her. With a defiant look, his mouth moved mockingly, waiting for Radit's vengeance against him. Just as Radit opened his mouth to nag him, the sound of an impatient knock outside their door stopped him.
Before leaving to open the door, Radit warns Widya that their business is not finished. After that he went to open the door for his guests, the longer the beat the more impatient. In the doorway stood Grandma Aya and Mila whose faces looked so worried.
"How's Widya? Is she okay?" ask Grandma Aya riled up. His wrinkled facial lines looked deeper and deeper on his face.
"We just heard from Ririn who was driven home by your friend that Widya also fell from the bike with him. Is she okay?" Squeezing her hands together, Mila looked so worried.
"Widya is fine. He's inside" replied Radit calming the two.
"God! Why are you here?" widya asked, exclaiming in shock behind Radit.
Without permission, the two guests immediately burst in through Radit to go to Widya who was behind him. Not wanting to join them, Radit closed the door behind him as he walked back to his farm. He felt calm with the presence of Grandma Aya and Mila in his house. That way, Widya will not be left alone in her home.
Turning the direction of his alley, Radit passed by people he did not want to meet. His mood was already too bad with the shocking news of his wife and sister's accident this afternoon, he did not want to go through that day with a debate, which of course must have happened if dealing directly with the annoying gossip number 1 in his village.
From the look on his face, Radit could see if Bu Leni wanted to convey something to him. A slanted smile on his face indicates that Radit will not be able to escape from his grip. Reviewing the friendly smile on his lips, Radit greeted Bu Leni and the other mothers as kindly as he could afford.
"Mom heard your wife fell off the bike, Dit. Is that true?" tanyanya, put on a feigned expression of worry.
"Yes, that's right. But, he's fine. There's nothing to worry about" Radit replied, ostensibly unaware of the charade.
"Honestly, I sympathize with what happened to her, but I'm not surprised she had such a disaster" she said, smiling cynically. "Yes, right, Moms?" ask the mothers who walked with him.
They all nodded in unison, which made Radit grow furious. Unable to hold himself back any longer, Radit scowled angrily at the group of gossiping mothers.
"So, I mean, Bu Leni, Widya deserves an accident today. That's how it means?" Radit's tone sounded louder than he intended.
Touching his chest, Bu Leni blinked in surprise at Radit. "You don't have to yell at mom like that, Dit! I didn't mean to say that, I just said your wife was affected by the qualities. Just so you know, before he fell off the bike with your sister, he was disrespectful to mom." Squinting her eyes, Bu Leni looked at Radit in horror. "It hasn't been a month since you married that arrogant city woman, now you've shown symptoms of an uneducated person like her."
Radit's two lips clenched into a thin line, his breathing began to irregularly resist the overflow of emotions that gnawed at him. Both of his hands clenched on both sides of his body, he wished that there was something he could hit to vent his annoyance.
"It's so rough of you!" snapped at Bu Leni wrathfully. "That rude woman has changed you, terrible!"
"He never changed me" Radit replied firmly. "Originally, I knew that Widya would never be rude if she had never provoked her first. And, you say the same thing as being grateful for what happened to my wife, it's not appropriate for parents like you to say such cruel words."
Bu Leni's facial lines shriveled deeper and deeper in her face, her hands trembling by her side as if resisting the urge to slap Radit's face over her brazen speech. He no longer cares, he had long enough to withstand his irritation against the insults and slander that always came out of Bu Leni's mouth so far about his family.
Amidst that tension, Mr. Benny came from the opposite direction. Realizing that a feud was going on between Bu Leni and Radit, he immediately came to mediate. Glancing at his son who stared furiously at Bu Leni without blinking a single bit, Mr. Benny was very surprised to find his son showed such clear emotions. Because he knew his son was not a typical person who would be rude like that, unless someone had done something that made him no longer able to maintain his manners.
Smiling pleased with the arrival of Mr. Benny who came just in time, Ms. Leni immediately complained about Radit's rude attitude towards her. Not taking it for granted in front of his own father, Radit also explained the cause of him being rude to Bu Leni.
For a few minutes Mr. Benny's head turned left and right listening to the explanations of the two opposing sides. Without listening to any longer penjelesan, Mr. Benny raised his hand to stop the fight between Radit and Bu Leni. Now he already knew what action he would take after listening to the stories from both sides.
"Now stop the chatter of the two of you, you already understand the point of the problem," pinta Pak Benny calmed the two people who were constantly arguing.
Ms. Leni put on a smile of victory on her face, guessing that she would definitely win the debate. Pushing Radit slowly away, Mr. Benny told him to leave the place as soon as possible.
"You can go, later after you come home from work come to your father's house, there are some things you want to talk about this matter" whispered Mr. Benny in his son's ear before letting Radit go.
"Lho... Lho... This is how it is, Mr. Kades. The son of the Father should be reprimanded for his insolent attitude to me, not even the Father let go," protested Bu Leni surprised by the actions of Mr. Benny. "Can't be like this, sir. Don't mind him Father's son then you can arbitrarily ignore his brash attitude." The other mothers exclaimed in agreement by Bu Leni's words.
"It's not because he's my son, but here the wrong one is indeed Ms. Leni. Regarding his abusive behavior, I am very sorry if it has offended Bu Leni," said Mr. Benny full of regret. "But I will rebuke Radit for his attitude after we have finished speaking. What Bu Leni thought all this time I did not get complaints from many people about the attitude of Bu Leni who likes to slander others to and fro?"
Jolted, Ms. Leni put on an offended look. "What do you mean by Father? I have never slandered anyone else. Isn't that so Mothers?" tanyanya looked at the others.
Unfortunately, this time the question was not answered as before. The mothers who walked with him earlier avoided his eyes, and went in a hurry to say there was a need they should take care of as soon as possible. Staring in disbelief, Ms. Leni gawked at the departure of her gossip friend. That's when he realized that they were one of the complainants that Mr. Benny intended earlier.
"Well, now I get it, right? Then come with me! We need to talk about this in a quiet place" asked Mr. Benny to wait for Bu Leni to follow him.
Keeping her pride still remaining, Bu Leni acted as if unscathed betrayed by her own friend, she walked as arrogantly as possible following Mr. Benny from behind.
