Upon arriving home, Widya found her grandmother's door locked when she turned the doorknob. It looks like her grandmother is out of the house. Lifting the flower pot next to the door, Widya retrieves the key her grandmother left behind. Thankfully, her grandmother's habits have not changed. Otherwise, Widya is forced to wait for her grandmother with Mila on the porch. After opening the door, Widya invited Mila in and decided to change clothes.
After changing into casual clothes, Widya presented Mila a cold drink from the refrigerator.
“The weather is hot, so we drink this only.”
“No need to bother, Wid. I'm just stopping by for a second.”
“Oh yes, thanks sandalnya-”
Not had time for Widya to finish her words, Mila interrupted, “No need to thank, Wid. You can take it, I have a lot of coke sandals like that.”
As if not hearing Mila's words, Widya continued her words, “. I don't need it.”
“Oh! Sure oes. I'm sorry, I forgot you're rich. So, you must have a lot of nice slippers than mine.” Mila's face flushed, embarrassed by her words just now.
Staring at Mila who was sitting awkwardly before him, Widya could not stop thinking stupid humans like this were still there. Instead of being offended by her words, she apologized. This is one type of human that Widya hates. Being kind to anyone without any prejudice will only make him look stupid and easy to take advantage of.
Feeling sorry for Mila who had looked down at her hand on her lap, Widya started the conversation to melt the awkward atmosphere between them.
“See you've known Radit for a long time. Are you guys your age?”
Raising her head quickly, Mila was relieved by the change in their conversation topic.
“No, I'm 7 years younger than him. Since childhood I have always followed him, so now we can get this close.”
Observing Mila's radiant expression when discussing Radit, Widya could guess that Mila really liked Radit.
“Away once your age. Let me guess, as long as you're familiar you never once thought of him as Big Brother, right?”
“Why can you draw such a conclusion?" A shocked expression emanated from Mila's face.
“Because you like it,” said Widya full of confidence.
Holding both of her cheeks, Mila blushed. “What is it clearly visible?” Widya nodded small. “May Radit not realize it like you.”
“I doubt it. Maybe, he realized it, but pretended not to know. Have you ever confessed your feelings to her?” ask Widya curiously.
“Actually ever. A few years ago, I confessed how I felt about her. But, as I thought, he only thinks of me as a sister and a friend.”
“Although rejected, you are still friends with him. Aren't you hurt?”
“I've loved it for a long time, of course I'm heartbroken. But, I don't want our old friendship to be ruined because of my one-sided feelings, and I also want to be by her side constantly. Even if only as a friend.” Mila threw a heartfelt look at Widya. “Eatya Wid, please never tell Radit about this. I promised him I would erase my feelings. If he finds out, he'll stay away from me again.”
From the porch of the house came the sound of coughing his grandmother. Her grandmother had returned with a variety of groceries in plastic bags in both hands. Widya wondered why her grandmother still had time to shop in this unhealthy state. Is her grandmother really sick? He should have taken a lot of rest and let Widya do the shopping. Wasn't that his duty when he sent his father here. Taking plastic groceries from both hands of her grandmother, Widya brought the groceries to the kitchen.
“It turns out we have guests, yes. Mila, would you like to join us for lunch?” haggard her Grandma, take Mila to lunch together.
“No need to bother, Grandma. I have to go home help mom cook lunch.” Standing up quickly from her sitting position, Mila bailed home. “See you tomorrow, Wid.”
“Dah. Be careful on the road!” Widya waved her hand.
“Grandma is glad you've got a friend, let alone that person Mila, he's a good boy.” A big smile on his grandmother's lips. “By the way, why did you come home so soon, Wid? Do you have a problem with Radit, as the word gossip out there?”
“Gossip?”
His grandmother told him about the gossip he had heard during his shopping at Aminah's mother's shop. Waving her eyes, Widya listened to the ridiculous gossip her grandmother told her with mixed feelings. How could such ridiculous gossip spread so quickly, moreover who would spread such baseless gossip.
When the fight happened, there was only Widya, Mila and that shitty guy over there. No way, Mila who spread the ridiculous gossip, she just came home from Widya's house. So, this only leaves one person, that annoying guy. The more thought out, it was even more absurd. How could that annoying guy spread rumors that didn't benefit him.
So who and why? Widya's head seemed to want to break thinking about the mastermind of this ridiculous gossip.
“Wid, Wid, are you listening to grandma? Why are you glaring so, you are angry with grandma?”
Closing her eyes repeatedly, Widya put a sweet smile on her lips. “No, Grandma. There's no reason I should be mad at Grandma. I was just thinking about who had spread that silly gossip.”
“So, that's not true?”
“Of course. We both hate each other, Grandma. So, the silly gossip that says I rejected Radit is a lie.”
“Be careful, Honey. Hate and love are different thin.”
“That's a stupid term I hear a lot. How can hate and love be thin?” widya scorn.
“It's true. Because you hate so often think about it and a sense of interest will appear by itself.”
“That will never happen to me and that shitty guy, Grandma.”
“Don't be too sure. We never know what happens tomorrow, maybe tomorrow you will get married.” Her grandmother chuckled at the possibility in her mind.
“Grandma, it's not funny!”
For some reason, an unpleasant feeling suddenly grew in Widya's mind. Let's hope this baseless hunch is nothing.
