"Kisuke! Wake up! It's morning!"
The voice of a woman echoed throughout the two-story old house.
*Ang* "Fifty-not\, please another half hour."
Reply Kisuke back to the voice while gripping the blanket over his head. He had not left the comfort of his bed because he was so tired from yesterday's experiment.
"Did you stay up again last night? Anyway, what are you doing?"
His mother's voice from the first floor echoed again, but this time, Kisuke did not bother to answer back.
Soft footsteps sounded from the stairs and Kisuke's mother came to her room on the second floor. He did not knock on the door and opened it. Kisuke's mother, Urahara Sakura, notices her son's messy room with various utensils and items strewn about. He had gotten used to this kind of scene by seeing it almost every day.
Initially, he reprimanded her whenever her room was in a mess. Although he was going to clean it up, after a few days, it would end up in a mess like this again. After this repeated a dozen times, he stopped scolding her and only reminded her to clean her room occasionally, however, she cleans her own room whenever necessary and because she does not think that any 8 year old child can clean up their own mess, he was satisfied with his son even though leaving the messy room was not a very good trait from the start.
He asked him once if he wanted to be an engineer or inventor when he grew up because he liked to fiddle with things, but he was surprised when he answered back that he wanted to become a candy store owner. He thought it was just the children's wishes and didn't ask any more.
Sakura came to her bedside and nudged her a little before saying, "Wake up. It's 10 in the morning. I already told you not to stay up late doing strange things, both Issei-kun and Irina-chan are downstairs. Out with them today?"
Kisuke moved a little before denying the things his mother said, "I didn't do anything strange, I just fiddled with a few things, and I don't remember promising them anything. If they are there, let them wait more hours, they enjoy your sweets, not a big deal....." Then came the snoring sound.
This pissed his mother off. "If you don't wake up in five more seconds, I promise that I'll drag you to the shopping district later and leave you in the hands of the aunt you love so much."
Kisuke heard a cheerful voice that did not match his contents from his mother. He immediately jumped up and threw his blanket to the side while saying, "I'm up! I'm up, okay! I just remembered that I will be playing with Issei and Irina by the river today." And he rushed to the door leaving his mother behind.
"Wash first and brush your teeth. Your breakfast is at the table. I have to go first because I still have a meeting to attend. Lock the doors and windows before you leave and don't get out too late, okay ?" Sakura's reminder reached Kisuke as she walked into the restroom.
While she was washing, she heard her mother talking to someone before leaving, "The two of you, take your time. You can pick up the cake while you're away, treat it as a snack while having fun." Then he heard the door on the front closed, after a while, the sound of the engine lit up and his mother went to work.
After taking a bath, Kisuke headed straight for the living room, where he saw children his age. The first was Hyoudou Issei, a child with short pointed brown hair, with two short strands of hair on the back of his head, and light brown eyes. He first met her in Primary School. The second was Shidou Irina, a child with short chestnut-colored hair tied with ponytails and purple eyes. Even though she acted and looked like a man, she was actually a woman and Issei probably still thought she was a man. He didn't bother correcting his gaze because he thought it would be funnier like that. Like Issei, Kisuke first met her in Elementary School, and the two were his childhood friends in this life.
It might seem strange for an old man like him to be friends with children, but it would be even stranger for a small child if he didn't have friends his age, and it would only make her mother worry unnecessarily. However, there was a reason why he chose to befriend these out of the dozens and hundreds of children out there. Irina, upon fainting, exuded a warm and calming aura that was not present in anyone else but her father. When Kisuke was his father, he also exuded a warm and calming aura but on a more powerful scale. Issei instead has normal parents, but Issei herself also exudes a different aura to Irina, feeling arrogant and haughty. Very dim, however, Kisuke was unable to notice it until he was only a meter away from Issei.
Although the reason why he approached the two was impure, he learned to enjoy their togetherness and antics and treated them as his younger brother and sister.
"The two of you are early as usual" Kisuke said as he scratched his head and yawned.
""You just woke up late!"" Issei and Irina answered while holding the cake in their hands.
Kisuke sat on the dining table chair while grabbing his breakfast, toast. After she bit him, she asked the two, "So, what's the plan today?"
"Irina found an abandoned factory the other day and wants to play there today." Replied Issei after taking a sip of his juice.
"Let's go over there and find some ghosts, then kick a donkey in there!" Irina is excited to think of the exorcism of ghosts because of her family's influence as a faithful Christian.
"Is that so?" Kisuke was less enthusiastic when he suddenly thought 'Maybe I can use it as my training ground as the delinquents started to gather at my previous place.'
"Okay, finish it and let's go. I want to see this abandoned factory." Eating the last bit of his breakfast, he stood up and urged the two to finish.
"Ohh... It seems like Kisuke is also happy to see ghosts." Irina also jumped up while cleaning the table.
"I don't want to see ghosts." Only Issei was against their journey.
