Kisuke Uruhara On DXD

Chapter 23

It's 17:30 and it's almost dark.

Kisuke walked along the road he used to take to get home. When he was near the pedestrian bridge he always used, he saw his childhood friend Issei talking confusedly to a girl in a dark red jacket with the golden embroidered letter "P, white underwear, red ribbon, and a green skirt with a thin white stripe around the bottom end.

Taking a closer look, Kisuke knows that the girl is actually a fallen angel in disguise. "He finally caught their attention, huh."

Kisuke also sensed another familiar aura that saw the two interact. He used Flash Step and appeared behind a tiny white-haired girl licking a lollipop. Kisuke crouched down to match his head and proceeded to grab his left shoulder while his index finger was sticking out.

The white-haired loli was shocked as someone managed to sneak up behind her and grab her shoulder. He immediately turned his head but a finger suddenly pierced his cheek. He then looked at Kisuke behind him with a wide grin on his face.

Without thinking, Koneko swung her fist and tried to punch her in the face but she jumped back. He was about to follow up he suddenly saw Kisuke put his index finger in front of his mouth and make a 'shhh' sound'.

Koneko pouted and turned around to continue observing Issei and the fallen angel in disguise. Kisuke arrives next to her and does the same.

It seemed that the fallen angel 'admitted' her feelings to Issei and she happily accepted them. Although there was a clear sense of disdain coming from the fallen angel, Issei was unaware of anything. The two talked for a while and then separated.

As the two left, Kisuke and Koneko came out from the corner of a nearby building.

"So your master started watching Issei?" Kisuke asked first.

Koneko nodded at his question and said, "President Rias wants him as her pawn."

"Pawns, yeah. I think it's better for him to be your teammate than to be hunted by those left and right crows."

"He's your best friend, senpai. Can't you just take her in and protect her?" Koneko asked Kisuke because he knew that he had the power to do so.

"No, wouldn't do that. And I'm sure he'd be happier with Gremory-senpai and Himejima-senpai with an outrageous body than a fellow man like me~." Kisuke disagrees with Koneko's advice.

"Hmmph." Koneko mocked Kisuke.

"Hahaha~. I won't treat you more candy even if you compliment me like that."

"I don't praise you!" Koneko takes a flying kick towards Kisuke but fails.

"Your fuse is getting shorter and shorter every day." Kisuke chuckled at his actions.

"That's because of you!" Koneko was angry in anger as opposed to her almost always expressionless face. If everyone who knew how Koneko acted saw this, they would be shocked.

"Ah, before I forget, here's your hairpin." Kisuke took out his hairpin and gave it to Koneko.

Koneko picked it up and put it on the left side of her hair, "What did you do to her?"

"I've planned it. Interesting things." Koneko could not help her curiosity, especially it came from the hairpin that her brother had left behind a long time ago. He didn't know at first whether he should keep it because he felt betrayed when his older sister killed their master and left him alone, but he couldn't really throw away the last memento he had with his family.

"If you go then let's talk about it later because these are some pretty serious things." Kisuke turned around and started walking home.

"Then I will come after making my report to the President," Koneko told Kisuke who had already walked away.

Kisuke waved his hand in reply and he disappeared from Koneko's sight.

When Kisuke was only about ten meters away from his shop, he suddenly shuddered when he suddenly felt a terrifying aura and disappeared a second later. Yoruichi, in his cat form, walked out of the store and looked at Kisuke. Both of them had serious expressions. They nodded at each other, Yoruichi re-entered the store and Kisuke hid his aura completely and disappeared after he used Flash Step.

Kisuke jumps from building to building with the intention to surround the entire city in an attempt to find the huge aura that gives Yoruichi and Kisuke goosebumps.

He spent a full two hours searching but he could not find. Kisuke assumes that it just passed through Kuoh City. This huge aura gave Kisuke a wake-up alarm not to underestimate this world.

He returned to his shop and saw a pair of familiar shoes that always came into his place. He enters the living room and finds Koneko already chewing some snacks on the table while Yoruichi looks up at the night sky.

"How did it go?" Yoruichi turned to Kisuke.

Kisuke shook his head. "I just saw some demons and fallen angels running around here and there."

"What was that?" Yoruichi kept asking because he still felt goosebumps given the huge aura.

"I don't know. But I'm pretty sure it could make Yhwach run for his money or even sweep the floor with him." Kisuke wiped away the sweat he collected after running around the city.

"That bad?" Yoruichi shudder.

"There's no point thinking about it now that we haven't found it yet. And I don't think it's hostile because we just feel its aura. Maybe it just passed by." Kisuke shrugged his shoulders.

"If there is something like that wandering in this dimensional field, then I don't know what I should think about this Red Dragon and Great Ouroborous that we are reading about." Yoruichi kept thinking about many things.

"What are you two talking about?" Koneko was perplexed by their conversation as they talked about the mystical creature like something of a wandering caliber.

"No, we're just playing around. I sweat all over, so I'll take a shower before I get dinner ready. Koneko, stop eating that or you won't be able to eat your dinner." Kisuke returned to his room to prepare his clothes.

Koneko did not ask for more details and stopped eating snacks following Kisuke's instructions.

"The two of you don't look like brother and sister, more like father and son" Yoruichi commented.
