"...Interesting..." Kisuke muttered with a wide smile on his face as he stared intently into the eyes like a purple gem of Medusa with rectangular pupils.
Medusa took a few seconds to respond because of how unexpected the response was, "Huh...?"
If he did not know better, he would think that his mystic eyes became normal eyes. But then again, he wasn't so sure anymore and checked it out. The result only gave him more confusion as he knew that his eyes were working well.
Kisuke did not mind his reaction and continued to look straight into his eyes. Kisuke could feel his blood flow slowing down significantly if he did not try to hold back his gaze. As an experiment, he stopped fighting against his power on the index finger of his left hand. It starts from the blood before it gets into the muscle tissue until it reaches the skin.
Medusa finally realized that her gaze did not affect her at all. Inside, he was pleased with his real immunity, but he was still worried about him knowing his true identity. Because of the way he acted, he did not know if Kisuke already had a clue or not, but it was likely that he did not know because he was sure he would make a disgusted face if he found out. So, hesitantly, he asked to confirm, "...Aren't you afraid of me?"
Kisuke was still staring at her as he replied, "Why should I?"
Medusa gritted her teeth and said, "...Because of my identity..." He closed his eyes and waited for his answer.
Kisuke raised his hand on his forehead and flicked it.
"Ouch!" Medusa surprised. He raised his hand to cover his forehead and looked back at Kisuke who had a mischievous smile, "What identity? Aren't you Ana? Did you read too many fantasy books that you developed a case of chuunibyou?"
His eyes widened at the answer, '...He knows...'
"...Why?" Medusa asked as she looked back at him.
"What do you mean why? I'm too busy to follow your antics" Kisuke still pretends to know nothing, but that's too obvious for Medusa.
"Gdh..." Medusa felt like she had to laugh. He had already laid down his worries and felt relieved.
"You're weird..."
"I don't want to hear that from you!" Medusa replied to his words because she was not qualified to label others strangely, "Thank you ..."
"Enough with that and let me see your eyes for longer." Kisuke directed his head to a position where he could easily check his eyes from a different angle.
After his nervousness and worry dissipated, Medusa's mind finally caught up with what was happening. Their faces were only a few inches apart and she became very aware of him. More than usual because he had trauma and complex with his eyes. A few seconds of staring contest had passed and Medusa's face was now dyed red. Embarrassed, she covered her face with both her hands as she could not hold her gaze anymore.
"Oi... What the hell are you doing? I can't see your eyes if you cover them."
"...Please don't look at me... It's humiliating..." Medusa timidly muttered in a very low voice but Kisuke, who was in front of her managed to catch her.
"...I'm sorry..." Medusa pleaded for mercy while still covering her face. His ears turned red considering what had happened before.
"For a cool beauty, you must be ashamed of strange places."
"That's not weird!"
"Well, whatever. I'm done anyway." Kisuke then examined his petrified finger.
Medusa felt her gaze move away from her and opened her face. But what he saw almost got him into a heart attack, "Your finger!"
"Ah... Don'tdon't worry... But really... This is amazing. I can't restore the effect. I have to study the petrifying process and the composition of the petrified parts." Kisuke then started muttering to himself.
Without noticing her reaction, Medusa suddenly stood up and grabbed Kisuke's hand with a petrified finger and touched him gently, "... Wh-what should we do!?"
If only in a petrified state, the Mana Kisuke within his body could automatically heal him as long as the source of his stone-making ability was cut off. But a truly petrified part like this could not be cured from his knowledge. Even the greatest heroes of the past died with petrified bodies. He doesn't know if a God can reverse it but he is sure that Kisuke is human and doesn't have a God physique.
"Well ... Don't worry about that." Kisuke took back his hand and Medusa was shocked and anxious, she suddenly broke her finger effectively cutting off from his hand. Because of this, Kisuke's blood spurted out like a mini fountain.
"What are you doing!? Are you crazy!?" Medusa hurriedly grabbed her hand back with one hand and the other tore off her clothes to get a piece of cloth. He hurriedly wrapped it around his hands so that his blood would not flow out, "What are you daydreaming for!? Hurry along! Use healing magic to stop the blood flow!"
Kisuke ignored his instructions and asked, "I'm glad you're worried about me, but you don't think of me as the protective type."
"What are you talking about now!? This is not the time! Ah... My fault! I shouldn't have agreed to this! Because of this mistake, you lost your finger! finger the only thing affected?" Seeing that Kisuke did nothing to heal his wound, Medusa then violently moved her Mana onto the stump of the severed finger to temporarily stop the blood flow.
Kisuke wanted to make fun of her more, but seeing her worried expression, he stopped himself and patted her on the head, "Thank you... And like I said, don't worry about it." Kisuke then split from Medusa, "Ah!"
Without waiting for him to move any further, Kisuke threw away the bloodstained cloth and suddenly put on his hollow mask.
When a bone mask with green markings suddenly appeared, Medusa stopped herself from chasing after Kisuke. He noticed that his eyes changed along with his aura. He took a step back because Kisuke's current aura was extremely evil. He didn't know what to do other than watch her.
At the part where her finger marks were placed, Medusa saw the white matter bubbling and after less than half a minute, it formed a finger like a white claw. Kisuke put his hand on his mask and the mask disappeared as he swiped upwards. And that claw-like finger suddenly cracked with its shell-like structure that fell down and revealed a new finger inside, "See? You don't have to worry~." Kisuke then showed it in front of him and Medusa subconsciously took it to check on him, "...How's it?"
"One of my tricks~." Kisuke then looked again at the petrified finger and said, "This is a good specimen... I have to go and break this into pieces." Without waiting for him, Kisuke hurriedly walked out of the room to experiment.
"... What's that about?" Medusa muttered to herself.
