"Yes..." Kisuke is fiddling with his portable computer. He was organizing the data he got from Medusa. He felt excited by all the things he got from him ranging from the intricate Mana arrangements within his body and the little data about Divinity. He had already gotten some clues about who he really was, but also wondered if the legend was true and what he was doing so that he deserved this kind of punishment.
"What's that?" Medusa answered while reading a book. With Kisuke's help and teaching his magic to distinguish colors without using his eyes, Medusa was able to read books like a normal person. Although not a substitute for vision, Medusa was very pleased with it.
Kisuke closed his laptop and faced Medusa who was sitting next to him, "Let me see your eyes."
"What's!? No!" He eliminated his focus on the book and immediately answered it.
Storing his laptop, Kisuke took out a snack, "Eh? Didn't you say I could do anything?"
Medusa hesitated for a while but after shaking her head, she replied, "...Still is! No!"
"But why? I don't think it's gonna be that bad. From what I know, you're not really blind. Are your eyes scarred or something that looks ugly? I might be able to make some kind of ointment to fix it. . I just want you to show it to me."
"No scar... But ugly, and most importantly, dangerous!" Medusa could not fully control her eyes. Although he could control his potential, he had no way of shutting it down without sealing it completely. And it had been too long since the last time he had eliminated this eye and did not know if he could still control it. If unlucky, he thought that he could instantly unify Kisuke which was something he did not like and would regret. After all, she was his savior and he let her experience all of these things even if it was only temporary, 'There was also a chance that he would guess my identity and origin if I took them off.'
Other than her worries about her safety and those around her, deep down, she did not want him to hate her because of her origin. If this was the first time they met, he would not mind if they knew his identity, but as time went on, his reluctance grew even greater. Even though he only stayed with them for a few days, every day, he would continue to think about the time he would definitely leave and would continue to say to himself, 'One day... Just one more day.' until it becomes a form of torture for him.
Medusa knew that if her identity was revealed to them, she would have to escape from this comfortable and happy place. She slightly hoped Kisuke would not treat her as a monster, but she knew how dangerous this feeling would be if she fell in love with him. After all, the feeling of loneliness by going is much better than the feeling of hopelessness when someone is betrayed.
"dangerous? Hows it? What function? I'm pretty confident in my abilities, so I might be able to deal with it." Kisuke continued to insist as his curiosity continued to bother him, 'If he really is Medusa or someone related to him, then his eyes must be petrified eyes... I want to see it!'
Looking at her eyes full of curiosity, Medusa hesitated again and looked down, 'It's also unfair if I continue to hide like this... I think this is the end...' He decided and strengthened himself, 'Taking this much longer will only make it harder for me and for others ...'
Medusa recalled the time she spent here and let out a long sigh. He already knew that Kisuke could indeed hold back his mystical eyes if he only stared at him for a few seconds. The time he spent with them not only ended with him enjoying life, but also gathering information for himself. Although he did not think that Kisuke and Yoruichi had enough ability to face the Gods, he knew that his weak self and petrified gaze would not be able to affect them quickly. As long as he sealed it again before he could do any further damage, it was fine to show it to him.
Kisuke partly knew what he was thinking after observing his actions, 'Hahaha~. Is he really worried?' He pretended to know nothing and replied without hesitation, "They are fine now even if left alone. They will recover their strength and one day will wake up if no mishap befalls them."
Medusa, this time, heaved a sigh of relief, "Is that so?... Thank you so much for everything you've done... If I get a chance in the future, I'll repay this favor a hundred times over."
"What are you talking about? This is all part of our deal. As long as you let me check on you, everything's fine."
"Really... And the last thing you want to check is my eyes... Understood..." Medusa stood up and gestured for Kisuke to follow her. He immediately went to the temporary room and sat on his bed. "Before we continue, please create a barrier ... That's powerful because I don't know what might happen to others if we don't."
"Understanding~." With a flick of his finger, Kisuke activated the barrier he had already placed inside his room just in case something happened.
Medusa smiled wryly at her actions, "Fully prepared, right? Also, please make a hole in the barrier just in case you need to escape in case something goes wrong and seal me inside." Despite being deeply disturbed, Medusa makes a way out for herself in case Kisuke becomes hostile to her. Medusa planned to electrocute him using her eyes to make enough time for him to escape.
Kisuke wants to show how naive he is but stops himself because he knows where he came from, "To ~." With another snap, a small hole is made in the window that leads outside.
Medusa stood up from her bed and checked as a whole whether she could really get through it and after confirming that she could, she returned to her bed to prepare to remove her blindfold. His actions garnered some admiration from Kisuke, 'Good that he wasn't blinded by how we treated him and would still check everything himself.'
"Then, then..." Medusa took a deep breath before touching her blindfold. He first removed the restriction spell placed on it and the amount of Mana around it felt to be denser. Next, he wiped it off completely, revealing his entire face for the first time in many years. Medusa's heart rate skyrocketed from nervousness, and cold sweat began to pool on her back. He also began to regret doing this as this would definitely change the way he looked at her. But he was already in this stage and he could not keep a secret forever. Before opening his eyes, he circulated his Mana throughout his body and cleared his mind, entering a trance. Opening his eyes, Medusa, for the first time, clearly saw Kisuke's face.
Kisuke's eyes widened as he looked at his eyes and stopped moving as his mind began to work in various ways to analyze what was in front of him. This, however, caused Medusa to misunderstand and think that she was petrifying sooner than she thought and would close her eyes again before escaping for good.
However, before he could do so, he heard the man say something that he thought was impossible if one looked straight into his eyes, "...Interesting..."
