Laura hoped to disappear to the bottom of the earth rather than have to marry Adam. For Laura, Adam's appearance alone was far from his dream type. There is no side of Adam that can make Laura survive in looking at him.
Desi glanced at Laura who was sitting at the end of the sofa, choosing away from Adam. "Laura, you can introduce yourself to them" he whispered. Desi wishes full consciousness from Laura.
"Mama really wants to do this in front of papa?" Laura's looking for an excuse. "Papa is lying there in a helpless state of weakness, this is not what we should be worried about!"
Desi shook her head. "Please understand, Ra. Papa can hear us."
Laura turned her face. Everyone just approached him. The storm hit and the big wind seemed to be trying to drag Laura in an endless death hole. Laura wants to leave immediately or at least get Adam and his family out of here.
"Don't force it, Miss Desi." The old woman was Wanda, Adam's adoptive mother.
Wanda took care of Adam twelve years ago, just as Adam's parents died in a terrible tragedy.
She smiled at Laura. "It seems that he still can't understand the situation, Madam Desi."
"Laura needs a pause to adjust" Wanda added.
Laura looked at Wanda without pause. The look on his face hinted at his dislike. Not only Adam, but he was uncomfortable with the foreign family who suddenly came to him.
"I don't want to marry your son, ma'am." Laura responded with firmness. He constantly rejected it. No matter what she says, Laura still won't let go of her single life.
"Laura!" Desi took over. "Sopan is a little bit," he said. "Bu Wanda is much older than Mama!"
"Tell them away because I won't marry anyone!" Laura moved out of her seat.
Before Laura left, she looked back at Adam while smiling wryly. "Want me to marry a poor man?" Laura looked at Desi. "How can my life and my school be assured by him?"
"Laura!" Desi yells loudly. "Would you say that?"
"It would be wrong to say they were poor?" Laura debates. He looked at Desi full of disappointment. "Mama doesn't want to take care of me and dump me on them?"
Desi got up from her seat. "The family of Adam has contributed to your father in the past, Laura! We've made promises in the past."
"Promise to make me their slave?" Laura grinned. "I don't want to!"
Laura almost left her place, but Adam suddenly spoke. His silence yielded no results. "Shouldn't I refuse, Laura?"
Laura looked at Adam while puckeying her eyes. Adam's smile seemed to hint at something for him.
"Why should that be?" Laura. His tone was soft, a little bit of a fret.
Adam laughing. He fixed his sitting position. "Sorry to say this, Mrs Desi ...." Adam looked at Desi instead of focusing on Laura who was waiting for him to speak.
"Your daughter's pregnant." Adam started his attack.
A small apocalypse occurred inside Laura. His knees were trembling and his tongue was a tongue that could not speak. Adam gave a tremendous punch, without Laura guessing. Is this what the so-called backlash would be much more painful?
"W-what are you saying, son of Adam?" Desi stammering. His head shook faintly in disbelief. For a moment she glanced at Laura who turned her face away to avoid eye contact with her.
Desi smiled wryly. "Laura is not ...." He stopped his words, his heart unable to make a defense for his own daughter. Unbelief swarmed his mind.
Laura looked for a moment, before turning her face back.
"Laura!" Desi shaking. He couldn't even ask to be sure. "Mama's answer honestly ...."
"What Adam said just now is true? You pregnant?" Desi urged while shaking Laura's body. "You pregnant?" He repeated again. "Jawab Mama, Ra! Tell me also if it's not true because papa you can hear us."
Laura slurped heavily. As far as she thought, in fact Laura was dead-end to the point she stood up. Just lie, refute what Adam said and scream as usual, then Desi will defend him.
However, Laura gave up and resigned in the end. This pregnancy is hers. He had to admit his own son.
"Maura ...." Desi surrender. No more energy, he squirms in front of Laura. Desi memorized exactly what Laura Mentari if guilty. Laura will choose silence, not to argue.
Desi shed her tears. He sat down in front of his daughter, holding Laura's knee. "How can ...." He no longer had the energy to speak even in his head was rained with thousands of questions.
"Laura, why are you doing that?" Desi sniffling. Sobs are scratching Laura's heart. "Mama's really stupid!" Desi hit her own chest. Hoping to get out through his sobs.
Laura looked at her father's face. Faint teardrops on Faisal's tail also contributed to injuring Laura this afternoon. Of course, Faisal's greatest hurt was when he found out that he had lost to the circumstances of educating his only child.
"We go first, Miss Desi." Wanda suddenly spoke. "I'm so sorry for what happened to your daughter and your husband" he said.
Wanda turned to Laura who dared not look at anyone. The sobs of her mother roared in the room, making Laura's body tremble violently in place.
"Your daughter rejected us by saying she didn't believe Adam would guarantee her life. He humbled my son indirectly, Madam." Wanda tries to stay wise.
Wanda's back at Desi. "My son also has the right to refuse matchmaking and the promise of Mr. Faisal with the late father of Adam first after knowing the circumstances of Laura," he concluded.
Wanda packed up the items, she got up from her place and walked to the exit threshold.
Wanda looked at the chaos, tragedy adorned the room. Desi even ignored the departure and disappointment of his guests, even though he had never been so before.
"Good day, Miss Desi. Thank you for your good intentions" Wanda said. "My family and I had to end our relationship here."
Wanda turned to Adam who had not been able to see Laura. The girl looked different, like a statue carved out of great sadness.
"You can call me if you need help, Miss Desi. I'll help" Wanda said again. He really closed the conversation.
Wanda was about to pull the door, but Laura's soft voice stopped her.
"Wait," murmured Laura. He looked at Adam, making eye contact with Wanda as he turned his head. "I want to marry Adam."
Wanda instantly froze in place, she turned to Adam who was also speechless.
Laura approached. Suddenly the girl pleaded with a sigh in front of Wanda. "I'm going to marry Mr. Adam. I accepted this match," he whined as he pleaded.
"Help me, Mr. Adam," asked Laura to take Adam's hand. "I beg you."
